The 6" height by Funko is mainly a guideline for the average height of their figures. They can go up/down according to the character as long as it can fit in the box. Garruk is indeed the biggest one because in the lore he is the tallest reaching about 2.5m

Hi guys! I'm taking charge of reworking the entire 4C Gifts primer because the OP has been inactive for quite a while and I want this MTGS thread to be the defacto go-to place for everything 4C Gifts! I'm currently looking up as much information as possible on the decklist and multiple variations and places where artices/steams have been shown of it in action, and I'd love for some of you guys to private message me your own personal decklists and tell me about your choices. Since the bulk of this deck is based around preferences/metagames, I want to cover as much as possible with the revival of this thread, and need as much information as possible! Thanks!

  • posted a message on Why does everyone always complain about every standard format?
The main problem with Standard [in my opinion] is that it gets solved far too easily and far too fast. Yes, the first 2/3 weeks of a new Standard seasons are very confusing, but barring some pro throwing a wrench into things/Pro Tours, the top decks and the format as a whole gets homogenized extremely fast because unlike non-rotating formats, the pool isn't large enough to have any sort of shift. It can't organically evolve, so Wizard's mitigates that by releasing new sets/rotating. I'm not sure if you keep up with Legacy coverage, but notice how Jace, the Mind Sculptor is falling out of flavor? Guess how many cards have impacted Legacy as a format since this change. Maybe around five. Standard doesn't have 14k+ cards to choose between, so you see the same 75's for the good part of a year, which does tend to get boring for people who love breathing new air.

I'm not going to directly quote anyone, but I've been using KMC Hyper Matte sleeves for the good part of 2-3 Standard seasons, and outside of creasing in the corners (I am an extremely aggressive shuffler) I've never had a sleeve split at all from them, and they are extremely sturdy

After creeping on other threads about other decks, I [personally] believe that Gifts Control splashing green is very poised to make a strong comeback. The format is going to start to circulate around 2 drops, so Spell Snare's stock is going to skyrocket, and spot removal a la Detention Sphere and Abrupt Decay. This seems like it would move from the dork route to more dedicated control as the format shapes up. Starting on the 12th I'll brew with some lists online and give you guys an update on my progress.

What's this deck going to do now that DRS is banned? It seemed like it was a powerful aspect of the deck... Frown

Congradulations Wizard's, you've managed to ban a card in a non-rotating format that has yet to leave Standard!

I just got a foil Mutavault (M14). Should I trade/sell or hold onto it? Does it have any value for being foil beyond its market price?

Realistically its bubble is going to pop relatively soon if it already hasn't. BNG increasing the multicolored land/card pool will make less and less decks have the needed space to fit Mutavault in. The foil price has mostly been the same barring the increase in popularity, so even when the price goes down, it won't affect the foil too much, but if you're looking to get max value on it, you should get rid of it ASAP

Waste of time. All the decision making that went into this. Such a minor change why even bother and that time could havd been spent designing cards i actually want to use. The holofoil bit in rares and mythics is completely irrelevant too because if color coded expansion symbols.

You might be forgetting the part where the point of the holofoil bit is to stop counterfiters from continuing to make fake cards. That's why it isn't on C/U cards

I already have my 4, but just being curious, buy or sell mutavault at 30. It is staple in every format so the 30 is justifiable. Not to mention it was reprinted as well.

    Thoughts?

Mutavault is used in every format, but not to the extent that it's played in Standard. Let's put this into perspective; Snapcaster Mage was $30 during its Standard season. Was it a reprint? Was it more widely used? $30 on Mutavault literally screams sell.

  • posted a message on [[BNG]] Kiora is up!
This is just my opinion (and for that very reason could be completely wrong) but obviously Development had to have done some extensive testing to only have her start at 2 loyalty counters. Kiora must have been doing some serious work in the FFL, as it just seems like the kind of card that could have been at 3 or even 4 counters without an issue. The rest of the set has yet to be spoiled, so keep an eye out, as if decks start to rely more and more on one finisher (ie; AEtherling) then this kid will be absolutely bonkers.

I can't believe we almost managed to go the last few weeks of the year without having this sort of thread *claps hands*
Now in all seriousness, I'll paraphrase everything that is said in every thread every time this pops up; they will obviously be reprinted eventually, but Zendikar is only 5 years old. They need time to make other land cycles before returning to a land-heavy based block again in which to justify printing them. We don't know when they'll be reprinted, but it's more-or-less inevitable
