so what do you all think of the bans/unban? did our deck just get huge?
we have like 12 creatures easy to activate sword of the meek no? not to mention stoneforge acolyte to filter/tutor. more useful 1 drop than expedition envoy.
if affinity became dominant wouldn't the increase in anti affinity cards be enough to keep it from spiking? I mean the reason eldrazi is so broken is cause you can't do s***
what are people's thoughts on Sylvan Advocate? in place of druid? I mean a 2 mana 2/3 ally with vigilance isn't to bad but has the added bonus of being a lord late game.
also what about Veteran Warleader. he has some nice combat tricks. I mean the life link and menace from the other 3 drops are really good but you think he's worth looking at?
What's everyone's thoughts on the split of Thoughtcast/Galvanic Blast in the current meta? What split do you play? I've always liked Thoughtcast but I can never seem to get some consensus.
I'm still on the four galvanic blast // no thoughtcast split.
I've honestly NEVER liked thoughtcast : /
What do you think of Sea Gate Wreckage? I've noticed no one seems to be brewing with it. 4 mana is alot... but it seems like a potential option for late game when you start top decking mana sources.
Im a fan of thoughtcast and use a 3/2 blast/tc split. but game 2 I usually board it out for more specific answers. like many have said it's better in a more grindy meta but I still like it game 1.
as for sea gate wreckage I think it's more of the same. i got myself a one of to keep as in a more grindy meta it becomes a lot more useful but right now it's good but not optimal. my opinion anyways
What is a good budget replacement for Glimmervoid in affinity ?
I want to slowly buy this deck since I have some staples of it but I'm lacking the Glimmervoid and the money to buy them.
Thanks!
city of brass is the budget alternative. it won't even hurt you that much except in some match ups where you need that life to survive an extra turn
Anyway, I've been thinking about a possible tech against these decks. Bribery. Get Emrakul/Ulamog and win. What do you think? I've been doing it with some success in UR Twin and Grixis Delver, don't see why it wouldn't work here.
I'm putting one in the sideboard asap that is an awesome idea. what's your sideboard looking like now that the meta is changing? with all the talk of affinity, tron, eldrazi rising any slots you might think hit all 3?
On a different subject, what about the new linvala? I think she would be a great wincon with the new meta coming up, she is a great tempo swing in aggro matchups and she is definitely a quality creature to include
I was hyped when she was spoiled but after a lot of thinking dunno how well she'll hold up. she'd be very good in some matches and others meh. I'm still gonna try her though cause I love the flavour.
I been trying elspeth suns champion as the late drop and she's been doing work. since her minus doesn't hit any of our creatures it's a one sided board wipe against the big decks and her plus clogs up the ground for the small decks
2-its probably the easiest for many new players to get into, as it only requires newer cards, which are easiest to get ahold of
^^ this reason for me and many people I know. as a new player I found it fair that everyone had the same pool of cards instead of powerful ones from past sets as well.
of course now I love modern and use those powerful cards I loved while in standards past haha

I mean bannings always changes things. doesn't hurt to talk about different/old strategies when things are shaky
