but I guess that card has enough arts now?
Agreed, I 100% prefer the original art.
I feel like the allied lands are a little weak this standard and was hoping we'd see a better cycle come amonket.
Quote from Creedmoor »I kinda hope we see Rakdos, Trostani, and Lazav all shifted down to rares in this set as well.
Quote from Marquisd »Terminus was at Rare in it's first printing

I welcome any opportunity to phase it out.
I know aesthetics are hardly objective, but you're a fool. Aside from the double-dong worm, most of his stuff is still miles ahead of something like a wayne reynolds masterpiece
(But my brother pre-ordered a box so and promised me a damnation if he gets 2 in a box)
How many boosters are in this box is it reduced like eternal masters?
Quote from Bread Connoisseur »If this had been as good as hyped up to be it would be a worthy inclusion. As is, not so much.
Quote from Specter404 »Yosie is played but popular is a stretch, definitely not popular with the opponents, Ryusei and Jugan I dont think I've seen cast in many moons.

I think the Praetor Cycle would be cool, though I personally don't think they would, mainly because the last time they reprinted any, they only had Elesh Norn.
Quote from wiseguy20 »I really really hope my pre-order price of 174 per box sticks and doesn't get canceled. The seller has over 130k feedback at 99% rating, so is that a good sign?

IF they're allied colors, I would expect the UBR one to be missing, since those are Bolas's colors. Seems like he'd be filling the role of that God.
Quote from SultaiAscendancy »
They don't have to do all shards or all wedges; they can do 3 of one and 2 of the other. For example: GWU, UBR, RGW BGU, RWB. Some shards, some wedges, still equally represents each color. This would probably be a better choice than just all shards, since it would differentiate Amonkhet from Alara.
Just a thought.
Quote from idSurge »Souls would be great, but is a possible Masterpiece target...
Quote from MysticLeviathan »How would you guys feel about Omniscience being in the set as a blue mythic?
Cat = RGW or RWB
Bird = WUB or URW
Crocodile = BRG or WBG
Dog = UBR or GUR
Cobra(snake) = GWU or BGU
Quote from MysticLeviathan »You think it's possible we get Tron? Would like to see modern framed black bordered Tron. Would also be a good place for an Ancient Stirrings reprint. Definitely needs it at its price.
Quote from Firevine »Wizards hates fun, so I highly doubt there will ever be a return of Infect.

HAHA! thats true. But that's why i hate MTGs foiling. I wish it was only the picture that was foiled

Also based on the size of that art, and the non-detailed leg portion, I'm calling that as Lilly' Planeswalker card for the set.
Quote from idSurge »Annnnnnnnnnnnd I just got my bonus for last year, if this set is at all decent I'm getting a box.

Mana Confluence won't be able to show up until MM4, at the earliest. I agree with Cavern and Reflecting Pool. Horizon Canopy and Grove of the Burnwillows definitely need a reprint as well.
Heck, Reflecting Pool is an EDH staple at this point and it only ever got two printings to show for it. Cavern of Souls is a major one that needs more printings for sure, though. Kind of wish I was playing when it was first released because I'm almost certain it would have been 2-5 usd back then.
Quote from Anara_of_the_Old_Ways »I'm just imagining each "god" on Amonkhet is in actuality a planeswalker under Bolas control.
Quote from SilverWolf_27 »Here is a crazy idea: What if the gods of Amonkhet actually are all planeswalkers? If they indeed are shard-colored, at least one would otherwise have to share colors with Bolas, which would be kinda weird (even weirder if Crucius is present and another one has to share colors with him). On the other hand, it would rack up the planeswalker count to at least 6, more probably 7. But it could be feasible since three-color walkers are considered very narrow. And a whole different issue would be flavor justification for a Bant or Naya walker working for Bolas.
Quote from Antiantiserum »and they look pretty, too, wow
Quote from RSSR »
If they do a variety of Slivers for the common/uncommon slots, I'd do cartwheels, and whirl my t-shirt around my head like a helicopter.
Quote from KnickM »Quote from SpinifexV »Has there ever been a downgrade from Mythic to Rare in a Masters set? I'm thinking they may have to do that at some point, since there are so many Mythics to be reprinted, so few slots for them and the large volume of prints that RTR and later sets have seen. For example, cards that are in the $10-$30 dollar range that would make fine pulls in the rare slots, but un-impressive ones in the Mythic slot, like Voice of Resurgence, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, etc.
Those three examples are extremely unlikely to be downgraded.
I`m willing to bet that she is in the set, and I`d expect a price dip of no more than $20, as she`s going to be the chase card and demand for her is sky high.
Quote from Yatsufusa »I really hope they learnt their lesson from MM2 that at MSRP 10, they don't really act like they expected people to be drafting a lot of these (especially since every pack has a foil...) MM2 really annoyed me that the marketing seemed to be revolving around a "great draft experience" when the price tag just went right against that.
I'm aware that the MSRP is the same, which is why I hope they learnt the lesson and just place the product with more emphasis on "premium card" than Limited Play. I mean, if they lowered the MSRP of MM2 (and increased the print which they did) I would have been vastly less annoyed by the "Limited Experience" marketing they were literally parading with the product, but since MSRP is already set, I can only hope they just keep it to the likes of MM1 (but still with increased print run so investor-hoarders don't just buyout).
I have nothing against Limited itself (the typical ones are okay with me, sometimes even great), but their marketing for Limited has always been "great print runs and low prices so it can fit the masses" and physically the Masters series don't meet either of the criteria, so the marketing seemed outright hypocritical in a way especially when MM2 came out.
Quote from VidarThor »Neither of those arguments is an excuse to not finish the cycle. And glorius it will be in 15 years.
