Feb 4, 2014Cowkites posted a message on Launch Giveaway! My favorite card would have to be Nacatl War-Pride. There's not another card with such interesting abilities that allow you to do so many things. Clone the war-pride then make twice as many tokens, have a sacrifice engine and some tokens are left over before end of turn, well looks like you just got a lot of fodder, did the elf player tap out to attack someone (goodbye elf player).Posted in: Announcements

Here's some creatures that I think would do well in a Jarad deck and are pretty cheap to boot: Artisan of Kozilek, Butcher of Malakir, Harvester of Souls, Soul of the Harvest, Soul of Innistrad.
-I've spent too many times staring at a Grim Backwoods or a Kor Haven hoping it was a colored mana so they've now been cut, along with Mistveil Plains.
-I still don't have the mana base right (in regard to size). Seeing as how my average CMC isn't much higher than 3, I think I can decrease the amount of lands just a little bit.
-When caught between Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker and Heartless Summoning, Harmonic Sliver gets a little awkward and starts blowing up my own things. I've cut the little sliver in favor of the card draw presented by Wall of Blossoms.

My main concerns are the early game. If I can't get access to Heartless Summoning or Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker early on, the deck tends to fizzle. Cards like Curse of Death's Hold help but it's not enough. I know that tutors are the obvious answer here and I will grab some when I get the money to do so, but I was wondering if anyone could think of any other possible engines or means to spur on the early game.
Possible Inclusions:
Possible Cuts:
Polluted Bonds
Rite of Consumption
Sejiri Refuge
Solemn Offering
Venser's Journal
These all trigger Oloro, and manage to not be awful on their own too.
Big Game Hunter
Doomed Necromancer
Kessig Cagebreakers
Xathrid Necromancer
Yavimaya Elder
For one, I didn't notice the "each upkeep" part, so that's my bad. Other than that: Bloodgift Demon is cheaper, has evasion, and slightly more relevant creature type; however, seeing as how I now know that it triggers each upkeep, I think my argument doesn't really matter.
Not sure if that's bad threat assessment, but that specific game has always baffled me with the attitude said player had toward the game.
Jokes aside, Rafiq is most likely your man, it's just a shame that Jace never shows off anything besides his face.
Chandler
Joven
Starke of Rath
Maraxus of Keld
Kamahl, Pit Fighter
The deck practically builds itself
