The Sublime, Silverblade, Wolfir, Loxodon version of the deck is rather unstable, sort of like infect. They have turn 4 kills, they have turn 2 smiter then nothing but dorks, gavony and land for the next 5 turns.
I'd bring in Mizzium and Traiterous Blood, maybe even Zealous Conscripts
So this SCD should be in the standard general forum?
I guess it could be there too, but it needs to be here too.
In this forum, the goal is to explore every possibility of making a red feisty deck.
Now, it seems the general concensus is "Rakdos not good"
Look at all the other [SCD]s we've gone through thus far, we are the competetive subforum with the most posts, and I think it has payed off.
I don't see why you would want Electrickery when you can play Flames of the Firebrand though.
Taking out a t1 dork can be handy, and later it can work as a combat trick right after the first strike damage step. If the meta was filled with stuff like Delver of Secrets and dorks, I think I would've given this card a sideboard spot or 3.
Also, what's the deal with the Thunderous Wrath?
Having just 1 doesn't change the % of times you end up with the card in your starter hand compared to the number of times you miracle it.
Also, a miracled burn spell is not something we'd prefer.
A burn spell gains a lot by being instant, and if it isn't, atleast being able to choose between using it before or after combat is vital.
Both Pillar of Flame and Flames of the Firebrand are sorceries, but they make up for it in an added effect.
In addition to "just" killing something, which Brimstone volley can accomplish just as good, it forces you to use it when you draw it. A well timed burn spell can often win you games, Thunderous wrath is hard to time.
Also, how did Olivia Voldaren work out?
Havn't heard much about her, but I can see her being sideboard material, or perhaps in a very vampire heavy build?
Rolling Temblor perhaps? Doesn't take Sigarda though, but deals with Invisible Stalker and Geist, even with rancor. Not Ethereal Armor though.
Perhaps Bonfire of the Damned?
For Sigarda we have both Thundermaw Hellkite and Falkenrath Aristocrat, who should be able to deal with her unless she gets enchanted. If she does, I think the only option would be to race.
i played some matches at local convention( the reports in are into the appropiate tread) With Sato/Zenj b/r decklist he posted a few pages ago.
In the matches i played i Felt that while useful in some situation Hellhole Flailer was a rather meh card, i mean if someone tries to remove it you can sack it but other than that to me it didn't seem very performing.
Stormkirk Noble in the Human match up was Best player, the card i learned to love was ashen zealot it's a very aggressive/defensive card plus it keeps the decks that use the graveyard in check.
I think Hellhole Flailer really shines after a sweeper, since he's so independant and explosive on his own. If your meta has few sweepers, then more synergistic cards like Stromkirk Captain would be better I think. (Given you run a couple vampires)
We also don't enjoy blocking, so she'd die pretty fast.
We'll see what Gideon brings to the table in gatecrash, but at the moment we don't want any planeswalkers.
If anything, it would have to be in a burn focused build as she could reliably copy quality burn, but such a deck is not viable at the moment due to all the lifegain in standard.
I enjoyed watching your stream, Z
As a player lacking experience, it's nice for me to see what information you take into account when making decisions. F.ex the morbid activation versus the Grixis player is something I never would've noticed.
The sound quality itself was great, but the gamesound and the music made it a bit hard to hear you.
Looking forward to tomorrows stream, maybe I'll be able to wake up this time
Eggs also gain "infinite" mana, this does not, unless you get lucky with some Ghost Quarters. Also your eggs are veeeery bad. Look at the eggs in modern, where the deck really took off after getting Second Sunrise 5-8. They have Elsewhere Flask, Conjurers Bauble and Chromatic Sphere.
Sorry for the honesty, but at the moment, one can't make a standard deck that would work like a real eggs deck.
This rule needs to be reinforced, like, across the whole standard forum that isn't labelled "budget". It's getting very very annoying to hear people say "I am only playing 2 copies of geist of saint traft as I can't afford more" and the like everywhere. Nice sound-out.
Partly disagreeing here.
Not playing the optimal build is not the same as discussing a non-optimal build.
In other words, being on a budget is cool, discussing how to best be on a budget is not.
I think I should be able to use these forums to help the "greater good" even though I play a cheaper version of the deck. Lets say I can't afford the black splash, shouldn't my views on Thundermaw Hellkite still be valid?
Aslong as the player acknowledges that they're on a budget, and manages to be objective, I think they should by all means be allowed to join the discussions.
I think by sinker we will get some good burn. Or maybe M14 will get good burn. If we get at least one good burn spell in red or red/black in this set and then maybe lighting bolt in m14 He will be played a pure burn deck.
I think Thragtusk will be a part of the meta all the way until it rotates out, similiar to the titans.
Unless they print something like Arrest with the addition of shroud, I think it'll stay. Might get it out of its dominating position though.
3 is the magic number here I think. Between Centaurs, Sublimes and Messengers I think Lightning Bolt would be awesome, but a red Blade Splicer might be even better, as a 3/3 First striker can take everything 'cept for Loxodons.
Match 1: GW doublestrike (Utilizing Fencing Ace, Rancor, Ethereal Armor)
I was probably his worst matchup, with a low creature count, and 1 toughness creatures, I burned my way through him.
Game 2 he bonded a brushstrider with a Silverblade Paladin, and started beating face.
Game 3 the sideboarded traitorous bloods showed up, and I got in for more than lethal
Match 2: GW Beats (Sublime+Silverblade verson)
Game 1 went bad as he curved dork => Loxodon Smiter => Silverblade Paladin => Sublime Archangel
Game 2 was won with the sideboarded Mizzium Mortars taking down his Loxodon Smiter, and leaving him with dorks and a topdeck consisting of mostly lands.
Game 3 I curved perfectly, took 2 dorks with Flames of the Firebrand and finished gloriously with a Hellkite
Match 3: Bg Zombies
Game 1 I kept a hand with few creatures. He had enough removal, and finished me quickly
Game 2 he was without a green source and I managed to burn most of the zombies.
Game 3 was saved by Ash Zealot. He couldn't get through 2 zealots, and when Hellkite eventually showd up it was game
Match 4: Br Vampires
Game 1 was won due to the speed of my deck, and being on the play.
Game 2 was interesting. He kept his 7, and I went down to 3. With 2 mountains and a noble I prepared for a quick loss. t1 duress didn't do much on his side, and the noble started beating face. Later I found out he sat with 2 Victim of the nights on hand. After he had dealt with the noble, it had gone 4 turns, and I had Pillar of flamed his Geralfs Messenger. Topdecking Hellrider into Ash zealot later on ensured me the game.
Overall, I'm seeing why dropping the 3 drops entirely could be reasonable. When I get my hands on 2 more Aristocrats and a Blood Crypt, I'll make the splash for black. First time going 4-0, which might have been luck, but I did enjoy playing it very much
I'd bring in Mizzium and Traiterous Blood, maybe even Zealous Conscripts

You deserve your Lightning Helix reprint
Perhaps Bonfire of the Damned?

Ash Zealot and Thundermaw Hellkite are definitly my two favorite cards due to their speed and raw power.
We'll see what Gideon brings to the table in gatecrash, but at the moment we don't want any planeswalkers.

Isn't the no-block clause to big?
Or am I thinking too defensive here?

Monored sledgehammer. Really miss a decent 3 drop in monored.
Only other contenders are the ETB cant block guys, and more burn.
