If I get them altered is there a service that I can go to? The card is Vengevine and I am not comfortable just giving a play set of which some amateur artist.
A proper artist probably costs the same as a new vengevine.
If you look through Klug Alters' picture gallery on Facebook, you can see a scrubland he repaired the way you describe it.
I honestly think you should be able to do it yourself though, get a couple of commons, make them damaged, and repair with either a sharpie or acrylic paint
For me, the line is crossed when specific cards or colors are referred to.
"This is gonna be a loooong night" is ok
"Such a good card going so far" is ok
"Red is really open tonight" is not
"Nice, Pack Rat" is not
I'm looking for a couple of cards that changes the game a lot, without being destructive. A card that is neither a Planar Cleansing or Lava Spike.
To my understanding, it's sort of like Timmycards, except for the requirement of being fat.
Timmycards are casual, perhaps not undercosted and efficient, but still very powerful if they work out according to plan. Cards like that is what I'm looking for.
I've merely played Magic for a year or so now, so my experiences with cards are limited, and I often bump into new cool cycles and cards.
Guttersnipe, and general flashback has place. Blistercoil weird and dual casting does not sadly.
You could do a stormlike deck with Talrand and Guttersnipe, or some sort of burning vengeance type of deal. At the moment the tools are not present, but perhaps Boros brings some useful burn (Lightning Helix plox) or maybe some cool izzet cards come in Dragons maze
Theese are some of my first alters. Wasn't sure if this was the right place to post, but all critique is much appreciated.
If there is a thread for beginners to post, then please guide me there
Anything specific that sucks more than the rest?
Anything I should read up on or any tools I should get?
Gatecrash sure looks great for RW. With a good manabase, we don't really need any new cards. Hellrider tokens, RW humans and Monored with a white splash are all looking good!
No more standard play here in Oslo 'till Gatecrash, so at the moment I'm just waiting anxiously for new spoilers
If you're running a tokendeck, you'll need more than 4 tokenmakers. It's better than Midnight Haunting I think.
If you on the other hand, do not run Intangible virtue and Favourable Winds, I would prefer Lingering Souls.
Perhaps when Dimir and Simic comes, blue decks might not want to waste their manabases on white
If some UX creature heavy deck shows up, perhaps simic has something, then it can get it's place as a 1 or 2 of. I reckon they make up for their bad earlygame by being very good in stalemates, as they can be recurred consistantly and get the best out of most combat situations.
For now though, he is to slow, to "expensive" and way to homeless
Well, for standard, as this would combo would be used in, there's not good enough blinking I think. You could use cloudshift, and maybe go bant colored for Thragtusk. But I don't think running cloudshift is such a good idea, even if it's cool with a combo.
I reckon you can make a deck utilizing Aurelia and Deadeye Navigator, but that forces you into 3 colors, and the Acidic Slime route might easier.
I think her best fit though is as a finisher in a RW aggro deck
Why can a card that says destroy target green permanent destroy a green/black card if a card that says destroy target 4-colored permanent can't destroy a 5-colored card? I'm just not seeing the difference.
In the same vein, I don't see how a 4-colored card could be defined as a card with only 4 colors when the example above proves that destroy target green permanent doesn't mean just green.
Basically, is a 5-colored permanent also 4-colored, much like a black/green permanent is also green?
Destroy target Green permanent: Card must be green
Destroy target Colorless permanent: Card must have no colors
Destroy target Mono colored permanent: Card must have 1 color
Destroy target Multicolored permanent: Card must have more than 1 color
(Fictional) Destroy target permanent with 4 colors: The card must have excactly 4 colors.
(Fictional) Destroy target permanent with 4 or more colors: Crad must have 4+ colors
A card can be black and green. Then it is black. And green.
A card can be 5 colored. That does mean it has 4 colors, but it does not mean the card is 4 colored.
I was just looking at it and i still don't understand why everyone hates vexing devils soo much

A lavaspike doing 4 damage is not good enough in a meta filled with lifegain.
If it's not a lavaspike doing 4, then it's something your opponent would rather face, meaning even worse.
Not if your looking to play at any physical tourney... The MODO meta has no direct impact on the meta of SCG or states. The top 8 of SCG, States, and every other big tourney recently has been control of some form, frites, or midrange with some Wxx aggro decks. Red decks have been performing horribly.
The argument still stands though. Red aggro is perfectly capable of doing 30+ damage. Having to do this has become pretty normal at the time.
If we had a tool to stop all this healing, f.ex an enchantment saying people can't gain life for 2-3 mana, we would be extremely well positioned agaisnt the current meta, maybe too strong even

To round up some of my favorites:
Isochron Scepter
Doubling Season
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Soulf Foundry
Verdant Force
Howling Mine
What cards are your favorites when it comes to enhancing the gamestate, both in multiplayer and 1v1?

Gavony Ironwright seems sub-par, and so does Builders blessing. Try upping the Orings to 4, as they're awesome.
