Now, I'm not 100% either way... in fact, I'm pretty much on the fence about this. I'm not stuck in my ways as a man, but I do feel like I need some outside input on my future.
Could we get some of the Pros, Cons and Counter points for being a man or a woman... then a general list of such for being transgendered? I've spent the last 24 years of my life as a man and I have no real regrets doing so. I guess my curiosity just wants to linger over to teh womenhood.
Thank you for your insight, I'm really looking forwards to certain people's opinions on this... it's your chance to win me over to the otherside if you're a girl... or your opportunity to defend me back to the barracks of ***** bearing pride. Do your best and by next Sunday it will be official.
Hopefully we can get some experienced opinions. Until then you'll have to deal with what I read in a psychology textbook years ago, that 70%+ of people who undergo the surgery reported that it did not give them the satisfaction they were hoping for. That still leaves a notable minority that were happy and well-adjusted to the change.
Given that we don't have the technology to perfectly transform from one gender to the other, it's not something I would do out of mere "curiosity." Of course there's probably more to your story than you've chosen to divulge, but perhaps that's better to hear about the practical issues in an unbiased manner.
You can't possibly be serious about this... are you really weighing the pros and cons of each gender because you nonchalantly want to swap out your crotch?
My advice - speak to a professional, if you're serious. No one on these forums is really going to do anything for you.

Greedy Artists make me sick.
I propose that anyone offended by their commentary about Richie ("Good riddance that he is dead", ect.) NEVER credit these artists on custom cards where their art is used.
My cards will all have ComboFTW as the artist from now on.

This is obviously because of the taboo around sex changes existing in todays society.

Billy would be one fat ass chick. Consider lipo before you consider a sex change, my man.
You shouldn't undergo the surgery unless you were absolutely sure you would be better off a female. I mean... it's surgery here! This isn't something you should do if you're borderline or even a bit across the border. Becoming transgendered should only be for the people who are absolutely sure of themselves. There is always a risk in surgery and, when adding in the financial cost, there's no way it's worth it if you're just "curious". You can spend the money you saved on your surgery for something nice to enjoy yourself or for some psychologist sessions if you're still a bit uncomfortable with your gender.

I'm no expert, but I do know some transgendered individuals and I've read a fair amount on the subject.
Transgendered people generally feel that they have been trapped in the wrong body their whole lives. They usually feel this way starting from age 4 or earlier, when the concept of gender first becomes apparent to them. The term is called "gender dysphoria"--they feel so wrong in their bodies that they need to change physically in order to lead normal lives.
This does not sound like you. Being curious about living as the other gender is normal, but is not a reason to go though the years of therapy, drugs, and surgery that gender transitioning entails.
I second the advice of the previous poster: if you're serious, talk to a professional.

I'm a mathematics postdoc researching evolution and complex systems. Learn about these ideas here!
I'm going to echo the rest of the posters. Seek a therapist who has experience with transgender people. Transitioning is no easy task, it's not all peaches and cream. It's not something that someone who is just "curious" usually does. Almost everyone is curious about what it's like to be the other gender at some point in their lives, but being transgender is something very different. I can't stress enough that you should find a therapist who has experience with transgender people if you think you might be transgender.
If you really are transgender, my heart goes out to you and I wish you the best of luck and accepting friends and family.
I think you should go for it if you think it's best for you. Whatever people say they're really thinking of themselves, so don't listen to them (exept me, bnut I"m the exception). You need to do whatever feels right in the moment.

Also, I beg of you to go through the proper channels and not order hormones off the internet. Not only is it illegal, they could very well kill you without a doctor's supervision, and you have no guarantees they are actually what you thought you ordered.
Gonna pound on what others have said but, speak to a professional.
It'll help to get a non-biased 3rd party view, one whom you can give more personal details about what's going on in your life and head at the moment that you couldn't just share in a mtgsalvation thread. I would say only after doing that, and seriously considering proffesional advice, should you come to a decision. Good luck.
Gosh, I expected you guys to be a little more open on this situation. When people come on here and ask for love advice, you don't send them to a professional... you give your keyboard diagnosis... when somebody looks for answers to questions on religion, you don't point them to a theologist.

I stronglyt disagree. I feel that you shouldn't do whatever feels right in the moment, but take the time and give it soem real thought. I don't know anyone personally to a great degree, but my girlfriend has helped a person go through the transition (m -> f) and it's been really hard for her to handle, although she is willing to stick it through, because she really didn't feel right in a man's body. It really doesn't hurt to have a lot of people around that are willing to stick with you no matter what gender you choose, because we can only imagine how hard it would be to go it alone.
That's about all I have to say, but good luck to you, man, and may whatever you choose work out well.
