Didn't see anything about this anywhere, but the release dates for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 have been confirmed as follows:
PC/Steam: June 26, 2013 Xbox LIVE Arcade: June 26, 2013 Playstation Network (USA): June 25, 2013 Playstation Network (Europe): June 26, 2013 Playstation Network (Japan): June 27, 2013 Playstation Network (Asia): June 27, 2013 iTunes: June 25, 2013 Google Play: June 25, 2013 Amazon App Store: June 25, 2013
The only question I have left at this point is how the sealed "deck slots" feature works. Are you only allowed 2 sealed events and then you have to pay extra for more? Or can you delete decks from your slots and play as many as you want?

The issue they have is that you're allowed to play your sealed decks from the single player online, if people were just allowed to hit a reset button until they get the nuts pool then online wouldn't be much fun for the newer players who may not know good deckbuilding.
(Personally I would like it if there was an online mode where you open packs and build decks right then and there, perhaps even a tournament mode, but what can you do)
From what little I have heard, your sealed slots are not deletable, mainly to avoid save scumming for a god pool as mentioned above I would think. I'm not too thrilled with the pay for extra slots feature, but it doesn't impact me at all. I'll probably only build one pool and call it good.
So would it be assumed that most cards from M14 like the new chandra and garruk will be in DOTP?
I sincerely doubt that there will be any planeswalkers in DOTP 2014 or any future versions. They haven't outright come out and said it, but I'm certain it's because of the flavor issues.
It would be sort of weird if you played a Jace, Architect of Thought whilst playing Jace himself.

you can sacrifice yourself and let the jace you just played in play

Do you know if we can delete the entire save file? I wouldn't particularly care if I lost everything if it means I can play sealed over and over.
how does it work with the promos anyway? i have steam and would like to get my ooze can some one explain me how that works?
If it's anything like the other ones, you buy the game, and after winning a game (or two) it refers you to a page where you can print out a code, which you take to your LGS and redeem for an Ooze there.

You can play a Talrand while playing vs Talrand, though.
I'm trying to find where on Steam it says you're getting a Scavenging Ooze for pre-ordering... Perhaps it's because I'm a Steam noob, but I can't see it.
Is it only for the special edition?
Basically what will happen is that once you play a game or check the player status ingame, there will be a section for promo codes. You'll click that and it'll have your unique code that you can copy down. From there, you'll go to the mothership and go to their redemption page (it won't go up until the game is out) and just pick the system you are on. Enter the code and print it out.
It sounds kind of complicated, but it really isn't that bad once you actually are in the motions of doing it.

Also, as a sidenote, I remember last year you could enter basically whatever code you wanted as long as it followed a certain pattern and you could also choose whatever platform you wanted, even if it wasn't on the platform you bought it on. I got 4 Vampire Nocturnus this way.
But to be safe, get yourself the Steam edition.
Nice that you admit to being a thief.

This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.

That's exactly the way it works, but instead of just a promo card, this time you get an entire promo pack
That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.
I'd like to point out that steam summer sale is probably in july, everything half price iirc. Though by that stage I'd imagine that the promo packs would have dried up long before then... food for thought.

Yeah, I got a promo for 2012 but by the time I got around to redeeming my 2013 promo it was November, and the LGS had no promo packs left. (although the supplier DID have lots of promo packs left, and had said so, but for some reason didn't to supply them to the LGS). So I missed out on the 2013 Serra Avatar, unfortunately.
If it's like 2013, the contents of the packs are fixed, iirc. So We may get one or two new cards, but we also might not. (Packs last year were 1 promo, 1 uncommon and 4 commons, if memory serves)

I used to write cube articles on StarCityGames, now for GatheringMagic and podcast about cube (w/Antknee42.)
