It's one of those cards that could get VERY good post rotation. It's abusable and might not be the most obvious choice, but it's better than some of the other possibilities... Go Go Silver Myr!
I love Contagion Clasp. It kills Lotus Cobra and other folks dead. It's a great sideboard option in my U/B Tezzeret Infect-Control deck.. it might become MD'able again once standard slows down.
I'll be the only guy going out to FNM for the Clasp promo, lol. Heck yeah.
Great choice. Playable and fun. Wouldn't mind one for my own Johnny-tastic (read: janky) Proliferate decks.

Very nice card choice; Won't be rotating for another year. This card has alot of hidden potential. This guy is nasty with Venser... added counters from blinks and upping Loyalty.
Why is this bad? It's a go-to card for anyone who needs repeatable Proliferate shenanigans. I even recall seeing it in a few competitive decklists a while back. It might not be all that powerful, but it has huge casual appeal.
I guess that Infect was a good archetype in the FFL. Still, they could have came up with something a little bit better than this. I don't understand why they can't print a few powerful uncommons to get us to come play FNM. We want Ponder, Dismember, Oblivion Ring, Doom Blade, Despise, Goblin War Driver, or something we can actually use.
They've had a few good ones lately, like Squadron Hawks, Wall of Omens, and Spellstutter Sprite, but there are so many that have been really bad. Who needs Rift Bolt or Rhox War Monk? They need to give us cards that are for Standard and that should still be in Standard for at least six more months. If these promos are really incentives for players, why don't they make them as inciting as possible?
There's already a FNM Oblivion Ring, Duress, Gatekeeper, Nighthawk, Shock, and Smother. A MPR version of Doom Blade also exists. However, the others are pretty good candidates. I wouldn't mind having another version of Preordain, Tectonic Edge, Go for the Throat, Hexmage, or Deceiver Exarch.
I do believe I've heard them state that Future Future League thought this card would be playing a much bigger role in current standard than it is, so I can appreciate what they're trying to do based upon that. However they're still a little bit off the mark
Eh, the FFL can also take Innistrad block into consideration. Without knowing even the basic mechanics of the set it's hard to say whether or not to expect this card to blow up in popularity.
But regardless, it's a card with a lot of casual utility. Repeatable proliferation on a colorless card is fantastic, especially when it can double as removal. It's a great little card that can generate a lot of fun, regardless of how competitive it is. I'd be happy to get my hands on one of these, and can't wait to see what the new art is like.

I suppose its use could go up in the future but still... meh

I'm probably the only person here who agrees. It's not bad - cheap, colorless removal that can potentially lead to shenanigans.

I don't think its really as bad as everyone is making it out to be but it could be better.
