Imperial Seal is no vampiric tutor, but it's pretty damn good nontheless! it's the card you want. it's slow, but it's the card you ask for. I won't cut it since the deck's tutoring power represents all I love about it. You get what you want whenever you need it.

The interesting thing about us legacy players is that we consider Force of Will, Dark Ritual, Blood Moon, Tarmogoyf and Swords to Plowshare to be fair.
Imperial Seal seems very not good in this deck. Its a really bad tutor, sorcery speed means you don't get the card when you want it, and usually your opponent can figure out your plan, based on a main phase seal, even though they can't see the card. Secondly, I would strongly suggest avoiding saying you won't cut it. Try the deck without it, it will work better.I understand pet cards and all of that, but the purpose of a competitive forum is to work towards optimal builds, which I'm highly confident Imperial Seal doesn't belong in. Its dreadfully slow, it forces you to expose 1 of your seas very early if you use it quick, it telegraph's plans based on when you use it, its card disadvantage, (much like vamp nad mystical, but those ones are much better thanks to the word instant). Drain decks are slow enough already. (and the capsules aren't exactly olympic sprinters themselves!) The only way it doesn't slow you down is if you play it turn 1, in which case you're probably fetching tinker, recall if you can't cast tinker or have a welder in hand and can thirst a guy into the bin, and your opponent will see this right away and plan accordingly. I can't see any way I'd want to run this card.
With the "new-deck deign" packing Master of E + Capsule. Which match-ups have become better or worse?
e.g. Storm, stax, mud, painter, oath, tezzeret, ichorid, fish, deeznaught etc.
I've read through the thread, and wasn't able to find an answer to this question. Any thoughts?
Doesn't seem like people have enough experience playing this type of build yet. (I don't) but, I like my "traditional" CS build, so I've just been sticking to that.
As you may have read above, I tried adding the Time Vault/Tez combo into it, however, I soon figured out that it wasn't for me.
Sure, it can be good and sometimes better. But, then I could have just made an entire deck around that combo instead to make things easier and more effecient as well. The combo can also be played around like all other things, but in the end, all i want to do is control my opponents turn anyway (which is more fun to me at least) and basically take infinite turns that way.
To sum, I play the old fashioned CS, plain and simple control build. I'd rather pack more control elements/card advantage/answers than more combo/tech into the deck.
I can see the usefullness of the beatdown plan also in CS, so Master Etherium may not be a bad plan.

This is the list that I placed in top 2 (we drew) with at the most recent bluebell event of 52 people. I had found that Timevault was by far the most valueable parts of the deck.
The main EE would come out for a Tormods crypt in the future.
yeah - obviously I disagree with you, John. Spam Warning!.....Amazing - even in a forum where posts don't count, there's spam. That proves that getting rid of the post-count won't help getting rid of spam! Thans for this excellent example! - Craven
This is the most recent slaver I have been playing with. It has since cut slaver, as for the surge of null rod decks and artifact hosers. It is focused around more of goblin welder + Drain + Tfk/gifts/intuition/frantic. So far it has been testing pretty well.
Hey! So I just picked up my first power pieces and am looking to play vintage. I'm looking at slaver because I play landstill in legacy and the decks seem to play similarly, plus I'm betting on Tez getting restricted. So, what's the best agreed upon build for this deck? I'm still putting together some staples so I have a month or two before I can play 0 proxie, so what should this deck look like if tez gets restricted?
Nothing changes if Tezz gets axe'd down to one.........95% of all decks that run Tezzeret the Seeker just run one...........lonely single copy. So if you're that betting man you say you're then I would go with C.S. and consider packing at least one copy of Tezz and the Time Vault, Voltaic Key pieces.
Stay with the adjusted classic version of C.S. and you'll be just fine.

what are everyone's thoughts about the TFK restriction?
meaning, what if anything can replace it?
what was more important about the card?... the draw, or the putting an artifact in the yard?

1.) Anyone who thinks cancel is viable should be shot. in the face. with a hammer.
2.) You misunderstand, what I was suggesting was the total exclusion of Spellstutter Sprite, because it just isnt that good anymore.
3.) Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.

The big problem with this deck though is that it needs the graveyard, so anti ichorid cards are pretty good against it.
