Some artifacts they're making are really scaring me, for functionality's sake! My last SCD was about Scrap Trawler, with an internal caveat that I wait and see what else they would produce for my pet deck. In my opinion this is another artifact that opens an avenue of choice not previously for Workshop based lists. I think this plays well with Scrap Trawler and tax effects and I can understand why Lodestone was restricted, and why I rely on Thorn of Amethyst now.
This card is neat but has yet to be seen how well it will play. As always, I'm going to brew up a list (which I won't finish until after the set has been released).
Not sure how well it goes into Workshop decks, but certainly decks that are seeking to combo off could use it similar to a Defense Grid.
It does seem to be an upgraded Xantid Swarm that doesn't require Green and actually does damage. Admittedly it does stop them from casting until your next turn - so it can disrupt them in addition to protecting your own combo.
I guess my problem is that you could build a deck around recurring it, but it seems like a lock that some decks are not going to care about one whit.
Flying Men are jealous, but then it is vulnerable to artifact hate whereas they aren't.
If you could repeatedly recur Hope of Ghirapur with Scrap Trawler to stop your opponent from playing non-creature (non-instant) spells that would fit the shops plan alright.

Any other thoughts on the card? I like it.
