I've moved to my city 2 months ago and people are playing vintage twice a month, are not sanctioned tournament, but price is always a p9 card, so i'm trying to build something cheap.
I'm not posting in the budget thread because they allow new vintage players to play 10 ptoxies, a good thing to give a new fresh air to vintage, the organization said that new players are getting inside vintage because of it...
I don't know nothing about this format, but i hear about a deck called spanish inquisition...
I've seen deck fraom 2009 and i wanna try to run one...
Can anybody post an actual version?
Whats rhe difference between SI and ANT?
I wanna play a mono black storm deck that goes all in on my first turn, and remember about the 10 proxies.
Now i have ruby, pearl, chrome and opal, and im going to buy the entire deck, so, what u have to say?
SI is a legacy deck. The closest vintage equivalent would be meandeck tendrils and neo academy, but no one works on developing meandeck tendrils. It got probe however. If I wanted to I could try to develop an optimal list but there isn't much vintage near me.
You could play neo academy/1 land belcher time spiral shenanigans. It basically runs a ton of free mana spells, 1 academy, vault key, etc. etc. a list would look like this:
Vintage lists can be hard to read. Only a few cards difference can completely change a deck.
Dredge with 10 proxies must cost less than $100. It is a really cheap way to play vintage, no pun intended.
Combos in general are expensive since they play the whole power 9.
I would advise against Dragon since it is weak against control and gets hosed by all the dredge hate filling sideboards. It also play power 9 + Bazaar of Baghdad + Imperial Seal
The Belcher deck has a tough time against control decks but some lists have made top 8 in the past. You can look on morphling.de or thecouncil.es for decklists.
The big vintage decks are various blue control decks, artifact prison decks (MUD), Dredge, Storm and many builds of Fish.dec (an aggro-control deck).
Oath Long and Doomsday are the storm decks that are more in the black but I'd head more towards a Lotus Cobra based decks or gush since the unrestriction of Regrowth has happened and is a pretty big boon. I'd probably lean towards a Doomsday build as piles are pretty easy to learn and it's a very fast deck.
Why are you wanting to run storm though? Shop and Tezz are much more forgiving and easier to learn then storm.
