How did you feel about the pact of negations? I think that real life would prove that these are not quite good enough. They don't do anything to stop the opponent, and they can't be used reactively, at least for a while. I'd fill it with more misdirection/duress/negate.
How do you feel about the draw engine? do you find it lacking? I asssume it would be hard to recover with this deck, even though it is so heavily blue.
GLittering wish occupies the same spot as mana drain as far as mana goes, and is really, really slow, unless you have dream halls out, at which point you should already be winning. why make conflux cost ggwwbru3?
And Searing wind is totally unnecessary. Why not just use the reasearch/development to win with tendrils? What does searing wind do for you?
If I was going to play this deck at a tournament, It would have the following changes:
I might be inclined to switch the duress into thoughtseize, as nothing other than the vampiric tutor hurts you, and It might just buy you that extra turn if you grab a goyf or something.
so, what about adding All suns dawn as a 1 of. it an conflux with a dream halls out make for an very large (as long as we still have cards of 2 different colors in our deck) storm count.
EDIT: its not infinite neverming...still may be a good choice
My brother has been kicking my behind with his Conflux-based combo deck for a while now, and testing seems really positive. Whether hard-casting Dream Halls in or cheating it in with Show and Tell, he usually opts for a kill same turn with a grab for Cruel Ultimatum/Cruel Ultimatum/Nucklavee/Conflux/Conflux, pitching the Nucklavee to Cruel Ultimatum, grabbing it back from the grave, rinse and repeat off Cruel #2, and that's that. Duress and FoW have not been enough to slow him down unless you hit the FoW the second you KNOW he's going to go off. I have to get the build from him and post it here, we've been tuning it since they spoiled Conflux.
THe only problem I see with this is the sheer amount of dead cards in the deck. 2 ultimatum, 1 nucklavee, and x conflux? I would at least run chrome mox in that list. That way, it taps for any mana. That means that drain comes out insanely fast, if you have 8 non-island ways of u on turn 1 (if you include petal). And an easy way to kill that combo are extirpate and leyline and tormods crypt. I'd prefer something mostly blue with drain, force, and maybe even remora. The remora would also be good after dream halls goes down, making your opponents question whether they want to play their spells for "free", and giving you gas. You could even win with tidespout tyrant, which you could cheat into play with halls or show and tell. and dream halls + tyrant is key.
To deal with FOW I have pact to counter it back. I wasn't even thinking of Challice. how do you think a good way to deal with them plus this deck is meant to go off on turn 1 so challice shouldn't be a problem unless i have to go off late.

it can grab conflux
Thanks Darth Monkey

If I was going to play this deck at a tournament, It would have the following changes:
-2 pact of negation
-1 stifle
-1 ultimatum
+1 merchant scroll
+1 Stand/deliver
+1 Fire/ice
+1 draw spell?

official rules advisor. it gets me there.

...but in vintage dream halls just works wonders for card advantage with conflux.
You can kill someone in a variety of ways with this deck just use whatever win condition you want as it is certainly possible
Yep dream halls was unrestricted otherwise this deck wouldn't be here...they resolve a FoW on dream halls, good game
