Been testing this deck a bit and it was doing alright. Tested against shops/ub tezzerator? or jace control unsure and won both and still have no idea wtf to think about it. Sometimes it felt a bit clunky and that aether vial was unnecessary other times it appeared like it was the best card. With only 2 actual matches i think i can't really make a valid statement one way or the other i can just see tons of upside for vial even in a format with mental misstep.
I wanted to play aether vial because i thought making a aggressive hatebear deck that can instant speed tutor+play creatures should be pretty good or at least be a starting point. I really didn't think playing just a bunch of 2/3's 3/3's vanilla beaters was ever really going to win me a game so somewhat like the RG beats but with more selection+instant speed tutor was the idea/hope.
Eladamri's call+aether vial has been basically what i have wanted from it but the deck is currently 62 cards id like to cut at least 1, i don't really know the format at all, its occasionally a tiny bit clunky and i wish to smooth this out and keep up the power level, and felt like luck was on my side in the games a tad so im a bit confused if the deck is honestly viable/good. Any advice/suggestions/ideas etc would be greatly appreciated.
If some of the numbers on the cards look odd please say so but on nacatl/goyf i only want one in the deck. Id like to keep up interactions with my guys because most the decks i think can greatly go over my head in sheer power/what they are trying to do so playing as many interactive/relevant creatures was pretty much the thinking process for numbers on that. 1 thalia/teeg/kataki/ethersworn was because they tend to be terrible in multiples and are only good mainly in respective matches and with eladamri's its potentially like running 5 of each hopefully. Oh i just really couldn't find room/justify running mental misstep it seemed unnecessary and way to variance oriented md but i really don't know for certain.
Well i played a few more matches and lost to tezzerator homebrew in really close games a resolved kataki would of won me the match and lost to oath with turn 1 oath turn 2 jace accidentally killing myself forgetting oath is reveal not search top cards of deck...and game 2 turn 1 SnT.
I feel like i need to do something to improve the "unfair" MU's whether that be md'ing pyroblasts or upping thalias both would of prevented what happened in those games idk yet. But the deck performed well to my surpise and stun sniper won me one of the games or matches verse tezzerator so i still like that card and it could of won me the game verse oath if i played right but i was dumb.
edit- I am gonna do some testing with Leonin Relic-Warder /jotun grunt and im gonna look into cutting some simian spirit guides potentially or changing some into elvish spirit guides.
