Recently we planned to have a 75-proxy Vintage event at the local shop, but only 4 people showed up. Nobody else really knew what they were doing, and I had the most knowledge of the decks and format. Still, we had a lot of fun playing with some of the most powerful cards available.
The decks included: Martello Shops (mine!), GushBond, Cagebreaker Dredge, and something they called "U-finity" which was a terribly janky mill deck.
We played Round Robin style. I went 3-0 with my only game loss being to GushBond when he assembled Vault-Key on the second or third turn. The first game was long with me playing multiple Tangle Wire. He also flooded out but was later able to Tinker up a Blightsteel Colossus. I responded by asking Forgemaster to build a Duplicant for me. That brought the game to a swift conclusion. Game 3, my sphere effects didn't let him play Magic.
Against the U-finity player, a first turn Chalice for 0 AND Chalice for 1 brought the concession. The second game, I apparently shut down his entire deck with a Phyrexian Revoker naming Grinding Station. I told you it was janky.
The Dredge player didn't know how to play his deck. He told he wasn't goldfishing very quickly and that Bridge from Below was pretty slow to cast... We corrected his misconceptions before the "tournament" started, but it still was an easy win for me.
It was very fun. I love playing Shops, but I did feel kind of bad about how I shut down multiple games, while the other guys seemed to be expecting a hyper-fast format. Hopefully, we get to do something like this again when we all have more knowledge of our "metagame."
I'm trying to get the deck list for Ufinity, but I'm not real close to the pilot so it is taking a little time. The cards I remember seeing game 1 were: Seat of the Synod Shield Sphere Memnite Voltaic Key
That's why I put both my Chalices on the board on my first turn. (Oh, and I later found out he wasn't playing Time Vault even though he had key.)
During the second game, the only card that stands out in my mind is Grinding Station. He might have cast Thoughtcast, but even if he didn't he must have had it in his deck. If I remember correctly, he played 19 cards on his first turn in a game against someone else, but I didn't actually see it.
Do you guys think I should play a deck other than Workshops? It's demoralizing to play against, but I've spent like a decade building it and have it down to 10 proxies (3 of which are Phyrexian Metamorph and 4 of which are Grafdigger's Cage .) I like Oath, too, but would have to proxy more cards.
EDIT - Some more info about his deck: Vedalken Archmage
Moxes/0 and 1 cost artifacts that give mana
8 creatures that cost 0
and Salvaging Station, which was his win con combo with Grinding Station
In my opinion, if you're doing a 75 proxy event, you might as well USE those proxies. Considering the tournament is likely for next to nothing prize-wise, I would bring random fun decks, not Standard or Modern power level, but something off the wall or a brew.
Example, one week bring something to abuse skullclamp, another week, try to break the unrestricted regrowth (bonus points if you use treasured find and/or eternal witness as well).
That way, you won't feel bad about being (sorry) the fun police, you and your opponents will have fun, your deck-of-the-week can spark interesting conversation among other players, you may discover some interaction that's more powerful than you had anticipated, and it could even bring more players into the tournament, when outside spectators watch you cast Time walk or recall 5 times in a game, or see you throw down Kobold after Kobold chained through a glimpse or clamp.
Thats just my thoughts, how I would approach a 75p tournament. I don;t have the funds to play any Vintage in Meatspace, but I have a blast playing on cockatrice, and would absolutely adore if my LGS ran 75p tourneys.

It would be immensely fun to play in tournaments, but I doubt many people would either proxy a deck to play, or would be against using proxies.
