I don't know about that specific variant of HateBears.dec but it certainly is a real deck. Not my style of play in Vintage though [What's the fun of playing vintage without the unfair cards?]

While I agree 100% it will take me 10years to get p9.

Dictators prefer an unarmed population.
Decks I play and stuff.
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.
Well seeing as this deck went 5-0-2 in Swiss and then made Top 4, I'd say Hate Bears are a thing:
Top 4 - José Antonio Romero - G/W Beatdown
Maindeck:
4 Cavern of Souls
1 Forest
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Marsh Flats
2 Plains
3 Savannah
1 Strip Mine
4 Wasteland
4 Windswept Heath
3 Aven Mindcensor
3 Gaddock Teeg
2 Grand Abolisher
2 Kataki, War's Wage
1 Knight of the Reliquary
2 Leonin Relic-Warder
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Qasali Pridemage
3 Student of Warfare
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
1 Black Lotus
4 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Pearl
2 Path to Exile
3 Stony Silence
Sideboard:
3 Stoneforge Mystic
2 True Believer
1 Batterskull
2 Path to Exile
4 Rest in Peace
3 Surgical Extraction
Also, this deck hasn't left the top 16 for several months, from what I remember the same pilot made 9th, 10th, and 13th in consecutive months at 50 player events. I recently played a similar list at a Sanctioned Vintage event and made 6th, out of 16 (Not 16 randoms but people who have full binders of Power 9 and love the format), it's very powerful and I should have had a better record but I misplayed a lot and had some terrible mulls to oblivion... Oh and I was missing some important cards due to mail issues:
are you telling me that there is a vintage deck without power that isn't awful
?! My day has been made.
I played the deck a bit and I prefer to play it with a Black Lotus, Mox Pearl can be argued against but I don't think Black Lotus can. This deck has an awful first turn, accelerating it a bit doesn't hurt.
There is a lot of decks without power that aren't awful, they're just not optimal. It's similar to playing Stomping Ground instead of Taiga or playing Duress instead of Thoughtseize for budget reasons in Legacy or playing Time Warp instead of Temporal Manipulation in Commander. You can still win but not as often as the best list.

Null Rod doesn't do anything worth noting.

This is incorrect. Null Rod actually does nothing.
Any more of this, and Team Troll will be more than just a name.
I know where you post.
The deck can do well, ironic that I faced the only other humans deck in one of the qualifiers in round one.

My favourite play was Thalia first turn, or Bob and Thalia.
