Is anybody still lacking 2CMC "destroy target creature" options?
Portable Hole seems like another viable tool for that "artifacts matter" deck we're expecting to be good in the back end of this decade.
FTY (Flametongue Yearling) there is a RRFire Imp, and I think I would rather have the double colored mana two drop instead of the single colored three drop. The multi-kicker is just additional upside at that point.
I like Flametongue Yearling a lot. The flexible casting cost makes it great in a lot of decks. It also almost always relevant. I can see people playing it in R/x aggro but also in something like Gruul ramp and unlike Fire Imp it scales better in those decks.
Not sure what to think of the alternative border/art though. Wonder what is looks like foil.
Obviously a great card. Multikicker and interaction with pump spells makes it more interesting (and better) than Fire Imp. CC preventing splashing also helps avoid 3+ colour goodstuff.
I have a modern peasant cube so flametongue wasn't legal. This young'n is really good. Then still good if you top deck it late. The 4 mana 3/2 deal three is probably the best version.
This card synergize with a lot of card types/strategies/archetypes: Blink, +1/+1 counters, ramp, combat tricks, anthems… Should be good in aggro, midrange and control, and will be an easy include for me. FTK was my favorite (non elf) card when I played in my younger days.
There's a bit of BG aristocrat support these days but I'm not keen on it. Mono green adds less to the deck than w/b/r, and I don't think I want to stretch the deck into a 4th colour, especially if that colour is green (due to its fixing making 4c viable).
Squirrel Sanctuary is a Reassembling Skeleton in a color which is less likely to abuse it and can only be "reassembled" if a nontoken creature dies. Seems like a pass unless you're really in to Golgari aristocrats.
"Young Necromancer" (no official translation yet) looks good:
------------------------------------
"Young Necromancer" {4}{B}
Creature — Human Warlock
When “Young Necromancer” enters the battlefield, you may exile two cards from your graveyard. If you do, return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
2/3
------------------------------------
Reanimation on a stick seems great. Even if she has to exile two other cards it does not seem to hard to abuse this with flicker cards etc.
Ravenous Squirrel being hybrid is nice if there's ever enough aristocrat support in green. The ability can pretty easily be splashed off of vivids/tris/thrivings, which is a big plus.
I kinda like Squirrel Sanctuary. 1 to play and 1 to return is really nice for mana efficiency. 2x+1 mana for x+1 bodies is a good rate in green, which is pretty relevant since green has the best anthems by a good margin. Squirrel Nest and Sprout Swarm are more efficient, but neither of them work if you're trying to Song of Freyalise, Scale Up, and/or Ridgescale Tusker on t5-6 or play white stuff like Relief Captain. Also has a bunch of minor interactions with stuff like Kor Skyfisher/Clarion Spirit/enchatress effects/discard costs/prowess/etc..
Young Necromancer seems too expensive unless if you're blinking it. ~2 more mana for a 2/3 is okay CA, but 5 drops and reanimation are both pretty clunky.
I think Young Necromancer is a decent 2nd tier reanimation spell, maybe around Blood for Bones, Makeshift Mannequin, and The Eldest Reborn. I do like how you can chain reanimation spells if Young Necromancer is also in your graveyard. Use a reanimation enchantment on Young Necromancer and then Necromancer gets back the real threat without fear of enchantment removal.
Monoskelion is really good for the +1/+1 counters deck.
Well I don't have the older cards like reanimate so I might consider Young necromancer certainly the best of these effects on a creature. But I have a ton of reanimator spells I have to work out which are best.

Casting Necromancy with flash targeting Young Necromancer to bring back a real threat with her seems really cool. Looking at my black five drops I think I'll try her.
I was going to write a bit of a snarky post about how Young Necromancer can be good if the stars align (it's dead, you have another target that's dead, and you have a reanimation spell) but I guess if you think about it reanimating the necromancer would probably be its second use in the game so you're already starting to get into real value territory at that point. I still think the first use is too high a bar and it's not worth it outside of dedicated reanimation decks unlike most other reanimator cards (and I already throw enough slots to support those niche cards already).
Abundant Harvest is confirmed a common so yeah I think that's an auto-include now.
Scurry Oak looks sweet. Good in a vacuum and great in a +1/+1 counter deck. I'm glad to have another card to make that deck more viable but I'm not currently pushing it. Not sure how to compare it to the always underrated Crocanura.

Scurry Oak being able to go infinite in mono-g with only 2 cards is pretty neat, especially considering both are alright by themselves. Without synergies you're looking for 2 triggers for it to be great, which is pretty reasonable. Admittedly 1/2 evolve is way more awkward than Crocanura's 1/3 evolve, so I could see it being too clunky.
Jade Revenge Frog is a pretty boring beater. Blocks, gets in for 2, and has 2 words of rules text.
Abundant Harvest is a good card. Only awkward thing is that it's purely consistency, whereas the blue cantrips easily support spells matter.
So far we have:
Might be interesting if you have a heavy focus on artifacts but probably not.

If you're in the market for a RR creature this is it. Helps that you can also get a rrasonable rate on turn 4.

Great card. Scales decently. Just an overall fun card. Probably replacing Fire Imp in my cube just because he does the job better for being versatile.

Draft my Peasant Cube on Cube Cobra !!!
If you have Forsake the Worldly in your cube and support +1/+1 counters Break Ties might be a good swap.
The squirrel seems good if your Golgari section does something with aristocrats. Being only one mana really helps.
As for Late to Dinner I don't think a food token makes Breath of Life good enough unless you support some sort of artifact matters thing in white?
