we are getting closer.

So I wonder if there will be another batch of new cards or just reprints /rareshifts.
i can see a couple of possible downshifted uncommons, nothing im crazy for. the ones that id like to get are out of question i assume Phyrexian Totem Celestial Crusader


I also cant wait whats in there in general, because i love to pimp my cube with oldframe foils.

Old frame Thraben is pretty cool

Stonehorn Dignitary got the Old Border shift. Looks nice. I don't run it in my cube. Can it be as oppressive in cube as it is in constructed Pauper?

i run it in t2, it can work, but obv is not as consistent as in constructed. setup takes too long in fast cubes i guess.

[[Sprout Swarm]] was a common creature from Future Sight. It was one of our mix-and-match cards that took nonevergreen named keywords that hadn't appeared in the same block and put them together. Convoke and buyback seemed like they would work well together (because buyback is an additional cost you can pay for with convoke), so I put them together on a card. It seemed cute and innocent when I designed it. The card would later go on to be a major problem in Draft, as it was near impossible to beat once it got going. (Once you created enough Saproling creature tokens, they started generating new creatures without any need for mana.)

The design team tried moving the card to uncommon, but it was still causing problems. They then moved the card to rare. It was still causing problems. They considered mythic rare but realized that it was causing more problems than it was worth and chose to pull it from the set.

On one hand I'm super excited about the old frame cards, on the other hand I really wonder how much this will cost me. For peasant it's even 'worse' than for pauper as there are sooo many cards already and many of them are modern/legacy/regular cube staples. And it seems like they didn't put a lot of value into the regular frame cards, plus the set is semi-premium priced. Only glad I don't care about foils. Still hoping they will have Zendikar fetchlands with old frame, that should take some pressure off the other cards.

I really want to like the old frame cards, but the art just doesn't look right in them. It's all digital which was still uncommon when they discontinued the old frame.

It's a shame that they won't be reprinting any terese nielsen art but maybe Rebecca Guay will get a nose in.

yeah unfortunately original tsp block cards got outruled to be timeshifted. originally i thought all the cards become an old border treatment. but well, as hyped as people are right now, it certainly isnt the last time they print the old frame. if magic survives MUB that is

I'm a big fan of the old frames, but a lot of these look slightly off to me. Not sure if it's the colour contrast or the difference in style.

I do really like Gary and Stinkweed Imp though.

I'll be honest these are probably the only alternate-frame cards I even care about. I hope there's enough of us out there to justify it. I'd be pretty happy to replace all my 'modern frame' cards with old ones. I've gotten used to the new ones but I think old ones still look *way* better.

I cant imagine the frames ever becoming so ugly that it changes my opinion of the game. It isnt like yugioh where the size of the art forces textboxes to be small. Futuresight, planar chaos, fire penguin, whatever. I have priorities

Oh, but one reason why the art might look weird in the old frame is because the aspect ratio is different. I know that when I steal old art and put it in new frames it has to be zoomed in and cut off the side
