I found the following downshifts:

Howling Golem
Skaab Goliath
maalfeld twins
ascendant slith
armory of iroas
diamond mirage cycle

Where did u find them?

The only slightly interesting one is Skaab Goliath, but it's again one of these weird cards, that would be great as a control finisher, but requires a certain creature count or active self mill cards.

Goliath is definitely a big monster for its cmc. but I think its biggest drawback is not the additional cost, but it dies to removal ;D

It looked like from the leaked pictures that Fleshbag Marauder may have gotten a downshift too.

Wow Slith Ascendant is really bad.

actually i thought the slith was the best of the bunch lol. sure a 1/1 fly for 3 is horrible, but white usually can protect its creatures quite well and can also deal with blockers fairly easy, so this grows reasonably quick i guess

1+2+3+4+5+6 6 attacks until it finishes the 20. so you can say its virtually a 4/X attacker.

Just feels to me like paying 3 mana to play a 1/1 that you can't do anything with for a whole turn - it just sits there and you hope it doesn't eat removal - then you attack with it, have to hope they don't have a flyer, and it has to deal damage. But I could be wrong. i didn't play Mirrodin, so I dunno how it was in draft.

I think protecting it is too much of a hassle for medium payoff.Skyhunter Skirmisher has a lot more potential.

Benevolent Bodyguard -> Standard Bearer -> 3drop -> Coalition Honor Guard

I honestly wouldnt consider either over Daybreak Chimera or Answered Prayers
but growing creatures are usually very scary. Double Strike needs a pumpeffect.

No it isn't. The basement for a normal limited deck is a mix of creatures and removal. Protection effects as well as any further type of archetype specific cards are optional and have to be drafted with a specific reason in mind.

The eyeblight cullers seem interesting, but Im not sure its enough. Maybe better in a sacrifice deck.

Cascade counterspell

I like Exquisite Huntmaster. 4cmc 4/2 that leaves behind a 1/1 is so-so. Encore just pushes this over into playable territory.

The diamonds are obviously good, although with signets and a few odds and ends 2cmc mana rocks it gets pretty cramped.

Skaab Goliath is big, but 7cmc means it is too slow to impact.

The cascade counterspell seems interesting. Flipping over a Mana Leak is a whiff off cascade. However counter into a 3 cmc non-counterspell card could be worth it. Obviously 4 cmc cards are worth it and 1 cmc cards aren't unless they are especially good like Lightning Bolt. Forceful Denial would obviously be strong at 4 mana, but the question is 5 mana too much, or just enough.

Makeshift Munitions is pretty cool at common. Sadly no Goblin Bombardment, but that would be pretty ridiculous as a common.

Cascade is really hard to evaluate. It's definitely a cool mechanic to see on commons, but I think they require testing to evaluate their playability.

Fall from Favor seems like it has a lot of potential. The monarch mechanic can be absurd in the right circumstances and this combined with cmc 3 and removal (not a killable creature) seems pretty op.

Yeah, this card looks great! Pretty ridiculous, I think.

actually it doesnt matter if its a creature that grants monarch or not. i know its kinda unintuitive, but youll stay monarch when the creature gets killed.

not sure i will run this removal, its useless unless you can defend againt the other creatures opp might have.

I don't know how to rate this.

PROs
- Its ability can be used the turn this enters (but 3+6 mana sounds imposible).
- It supports counters.
- It can put counters on itself, so it's at minimum a 4/6 flyer, so it's the strongest common flyer period.

CONs
- 6 mana is a lot.
- Doesn't have a ETB ability.

Thats a chunky angel for white. Ill pass though. No need for such late game card.
