a colorshifted steppe lynx. seems very good for constructed, but i never found landfall consistent enough in cubedecks/nonfetch formats and 0/1 is just useless. unlike Plated Geopede
Concordant Spell {4}{R}
Instant
~ deals 4 damage to target creature and deals X damage to that creature's controller. Where X is equal to the number of creatures in your party.
Subtle Strike seems like it could be pretty powerful and get us a 2 for 1 at times. But for the amount of work needed, a kill spell is probably better 85% of the time.
I wish they'd reprint Whip Vine in this slot sometime. But due to Party mechanic there are probably going to be a ton of commons that are just type-shifted reprints like this one. Sporecap Spider was an original Zen block card that could have returned as an Elf Rogue too.
spider has at least 5 toughness, so i dont get why they downgrade the elf.
id really like to see more 2/4+keyword for cmc3 in green to make good use of the manaelf package and dont lose to red.

Mosscoat Goriak briefly gave me hope. But I don't think they're at the point of doing straight up Giant Spider for 3 yet at common. The only card that comes to mind is Twin-Silk Spider and that wasn't in a standard set.
although we are X cards in, so far nothing really stood out. sad
We've seen 40 commons so far by my count but only 30 are not reprints or functional reprints (I'm counting Shell Shield since it seems like a strict downgrade from Dive Down)
EDIT: just saw a few more commons spoiled. Up to 48 unless I missed anything but still nothing too interesting. Maybe the green 3/2 etb draw for 4
Farsight Adept - Interesting symmetrical draw, though as a rule of thumb I don't like giving my opponent cards. Cathodion already gives white access to 3 mana 3/3.
Grotag Bug-Catcher - Most of red is not going to party well. Neither particularly with white as mostly we have soldiers and knights.
Anticognition - Compares poorly to Essence Scatter and Miscalculation. If you somehow get it live, scry 2 and a hard counter is decent. Seems like it just gets outclassed. Threshold 8 seems a bit far off for most games to reliably come up.
Makindi Ox - A big(ish) creature in white. Sort of ok, but not that great.
Feed the Swarm - Black maindeck answer to Pestilence. Lifeloss gets to be a bit steep and there are enough of premium answers that this really wouldn't find a place in a full draft.
Angelheart Protector - I'm not sure how the indestructible would play. Might be a bit too do nothing most games.

There's no word in the goblin language for "strategy." Then again, there's no word in the goblin language for "word."
I guess the Zendikon is something like Wild Leotau but with 4/4 reach instead of 5/4 and you still get the mana if you choose to. Can't really count the haste since you need 5 mana to hit that.
seems a worse mizzium skin
a courser in white. not crazy exciting and not bad either. dont know about the symmetric draw.
if you can reliably pump it to 3+ power its not a bad card. I kinda doubt it though.
reach is always nice in red, but how many lands are you going to drop after turn4? not much or you are losing anyway.
i like onedrops in blue, because theyre scarce. being a (weak) combat trick as well seems interesting. the mill can sometimes bite you back though.
i guess you have more party members in white than red on average, but its not an effect im interested in tbh.
flash is always very nice, especially in blue. if this replaces itself, its a strong pseudo removal
this is another puzzle piece in the +1+1 theme, but i think we already had its effect. anyway i like flexible bears.
im not too big a fan of pumpspells, but i like this one. 5 damage on a card is always scary.
(greens) deathtouch onedrops has always played nice for me and this one finally comes with a useful creature type. def trying to squeeze it in.
most likely an upgrade of Angel of Mercy on most boards.
powpercube Johnny https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/37t
Sheild Shell is a strickly worse Dive Down.
The diviner has Flying not Flash.
And the Angel is always at least a 3/4 flying gain 2. I'll take that toughness bump over a 3/3 flying gain 3.

rarely better than Chandra's Outrage
another small tool for the uw equipment/artifact archetype
it would be interesting if it wouldnt cost 2 to activate
powpercube Johnny https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/37t
thats because wotc is often just copy/pasting cards with minor changes
i dont think we can make any use of this
if only it had flash. it looks like it plays worse than Leonin Scimitar
thats not actually bad. a more beefy body in white is alright already and the random trigger is just a bonus.
holy crap, commons get spoilered early this time
most likely a pass for us
meh
if it cycles its nice, but in average cubes most likely doesnt.
is +1+1 finally becoming a thing?
meh, i think this is a worse functional.
+1+1 card

becomes quite scary after 2 landfall triggers. but my t1 doesnt play enough lands usually.
doesnt make the cut at cmc3 in blue

beefy beater, but without trample i wouldnt run it.
at worst a 3/3 scry 1, but i never found blues hill giants interesting
good in constructed, useless for us
i think this is a functional reprint
even an unconditional 2/2 deathtouch wouldnt be too crazy.
i like removal with extra conditions for my durdlecube, but i dont think i can gather a party there.
zendikons are back. they never convinced me. the "upkeep" hurts.

targeted black enchantment removal at cmc2. thats crazy. for constructed
the gob will end in my t2 at least
yeah, the memes go on.
"Elvish Wizzonary" {3}{G}
When “Elvish Wizzonary” enters the battlefield, draw a card. 3/2
im always hot on greens card draw but 3/2 for 4 is an awful statline. might end in my t2 since every card that cantrips has to go there lol

Grotag Bug-Catcher - Most of red is not going to party well. Neither particularly with white as mostly we have soldiers and knights.
Might of Murasa - Expensive Giant Growth is ehh. 5 damage late game is quite good. Probably won't play this over the much cheaper Groundswell. Also it compares badly to Titanic Growth which doesn't see any play and Predator's Strike.
Cleansing Wildfire - Good at taking out Simic Growth Chamber, Desert and friends. Most common lands don't require answers. The fact that this cantraps is nice.
Nissa's Zendikon - I think that this is ok.
Feed the Swarm - Black maindeck answer to Pestilence. Lifeloss gets to be a bit steep and there are enough of premium answers that this really wouldn't find a place in a full draft.
Angelheart Protector - I'm not sure how the indestructible would play. Might be a bit too do nothing most games.
so far the only addition to my cube is Tajuru Blightblade, replacing ambush viper which is more of a sidegrade honestly, but maybe finally enables Timberwatch Elf
powpercube Johnny https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/37t
I'm probably adding the +1/+1 Gnarlid Colony and the menace one, really enjoy the counters theme.
Yeah the Wild Leotau comparison is about how they function not their relative power levels. The Zendikon doesn't seem that good.
