the problem starts when you guys escalate the situation and then call for the mod to regulate me. so i hope ulka gets a better view on things going on here.
I reported your aggressive post that used ALL CAPS to let us know we weren't welcome in your pauper threads.
Same. It is like the third post I've reported in maybe 10 years.
Humphrey, if disagreeing with you counts as bullying and you think that us "nerds" don't know that we're triggering you.... then I mean this with sincerity: you may have a persecution complex. I don't know how to say it in a way that is sincere without repeating that I am being so, so here I am repeating it.

Early magic was poorly designed. Seriously, I wouldn't play that game for two days if given the chance.
Not to rehash an old argument, but it was an unbalanced mess with wretch inducing hate cards, horrible templates, bad rules like combat damage on the stack, oversaturation of the weatherlight crew that is objectively more in your face than jace ever was, no understanding of what large amounts of mana should buy, and plenty of cards worthy of bans that didnt get them.
It only really had flavor imo.
/
But no, I'm not just going to stay away from you. I'm not going to harass you either. The mods will sort it out when one of us overreacts, but it ain't gonna be me that will be doing the overreacting.
one last comment on it: damage on stack was introduced with 6th edition and then got dismissed again years later. just another example of messing with the rules. but i actually liked it much more, since it added a lot of strategic depths. weatherlight and co were also mainly pushed by maro, since garfield already left development. anyway, when youre so keen in discussing that topic with me, feel free to open a new thread leelue.
regarding m19, itll probably takes another 6 weeks until the next cards get spoiled, so not much going on here until then. it would be nice to finally see a reasonable white fattie to fill the void there, but considering what weve seen so far tokens will stay the maintheme of white.

I'd like to see flyers get pushed a lil more in my cube, in regards to White. I really enjoy UW skies in limited, which appears in most limited formats. I'd like to see a white finisher as well. And maybe something with vigilance? I'm envisioning some sort of common Serra Angel here, Supply-Line Cranes and Seraph of Dawn are the closest things we have, but I think vigilance is the key feature, not sure how that could be statted at common.
I got the feeling with DOM they lowered the powerlevel of commons again, so i expect nothing outstanding in m19. Although we got Sentinel Spider and even an upgraded version I dont expect Serra Angel to become common ever. It wouldnt break the format, but the card is too iconic (and already kinda dumbstered). But Id be very happy with a 4/3 vigilance, flying for 5 or a 5/4 first strike for 5. at least something that can compete with the various 5/5 or 5/4s of the other colors and a quick clock.
dont know about the guilds, boros is somewhat fine, but wouldnt mind a staple card. ug feels very solid to me as well. Golgari GB and Rakdos RB seem the most weak ones.
I wasn’t saying I wanted Serra Angel downgraded further. After seeing her in action in DOM limited I’m very grateful for her current rarity. She would be insane at common. I didn’t know the Kirin existed. Being splashable, those seem like the stats we’d get with flying and vigilance. I could see MAYBE a 3/3 flyer with vigilance for 2WW. That’s my pipe dream.
i ran the kirin for a while and wasnt convinced. 2 power is just not enough for cc4 even in slower cubes. spikey cubes have 4 mana 4/4 flyer in blue and 5/5s in green. serra angel could at least trade with illusionary forces lol
btw the best "white" fattie with vigilance is Bastion Mastodon. give me that beast in white for cc4 and we have a deal.
Serra Angel is way too strong for a common. Even in a masters set I can't ever imagine it. Alabaster Kirin is playable and probably the closest we will ever get to Serra Angel. An Air Elemental would be more likely, since the difference between a 3/5 ( Supply-Line Cranes) and a 4/4 is not that big, but it will definitely not have an upside as big as Serra Angel.
I could see a zombie Air Elemental at common, with Stitched Drake's drawback. Maybe even if it exiles two creature cards. Stitched Drake and company are balanced because there is tension between the cheap mana cost and the drawback - you're not guaranteed to have a creature in the yard at that stage of the game. One thing I feel pretty confident saying is that a straight Air Elemental is a long way away, if ever.
sure, im in no need of it, its just not out of question becoming a common.
talking about voids, id like to see a common pyroclasm for maybe cc4, since control only can be black based right now. Lava Storm is too situational and Swirling Sandstorm is too slow.
i ran the martyr for a while, but he never did what i expected from him. usually i dont want to be too deep in red as a control support color (since there arent a lot cards for it in the first place), so i never had enough red cards in hand when i wanted to pop it. Arc Lightning kills only 1-2 creatures on average.
didnt like rock slide either. i was a fan of it until someone discovered it doesnt target flying creatures
there are definitely not enough control cards to become 50% red, at least not in spike cubes, unless you kinda become burn control ;D
as soon as you start adding red creatures to the deck, the martys will too often kill your own board.
BR adds nothing to control in my t1. black has enough removal and red doesnt offer any creatures. WB control has become a thing lately though.
in my t2 red based control is fine, but the format is much slower, i dont see it becoming tier1 with the tool we have right now and you must sacrifice a lot of aggro power.
yeah, i can get something like this running in my t2. btw Bloodfire Dwarf+Coat with Venom is quite effective.
control decks in my cubes usually dont overload on single target removal (you will lose too much tempo in t1, also hexproof), they prefer to trade creatures or stall the board until you can trade 2:1 or better with stuff like pestilence plus a bunch of card advantage cards. (sprout swarm is the main finisher in ub control usually with one green source)
tempo strategy is to establish and keep board control by cheating on mana and quick wins. So while LB can gain you tempo when you follow up with a creature in the same turn, it does not when you just pass the turn.
control wins by keeping the board under control until the opponent is out of ressources. it usually uses defensive creatures, sweeper and card advantage.
the amount of low drops in my cube makes the overload on single target not possible. as soon as a single 2/1 sticks on the board you cant keep up by removing stuff for cc2. in token heavy cubes that strategy should work even worse (dwarf kills them as good or better than martyr). coat with venom is really good on its own as well?!?
the rock/scissor/paper in my t1 goes like aggro beats control, midrange beats aggro, control beats midrange. not always ofc, but thats the direction.
so, a mix of mnemonic wall and scrivener, with slightly worse cost. Now we could use some kind of tutor for Peregrine Drake and the combo might become quite reliable.
Salvager is basically the monocolored Izzet Chronarch. Being less color restrictive and able to be put into a lot more effects for those who want this type of creature makes this a nice upgrade for chronarch I think.
Who compared Inciter to Raging Goblin? Only because they're both red 1/1s and have the word Haste written on them? They're fundamentally different cards in the way they function.
That said, still not impressed enough by Inciter to ever want a second copy, though I'd play the Goblin over the Inciter for flavor (and Sparksmith) reasons.
Same. Also, maybe I can push the Goblin theme with this one.
Edit: Is this birb friend cubeable? I think not, but interesting Power creep and I love that art:
Goblin Grenade is the only true goblin tribal card worth considering and although i run a decent amount of goblins the card was just bad. Often enough it just sits dead in your hand. Especially since Reckless Abandon basically does the same thing without the huge requirements.
And as said, too many goblins can make Sparksmith backfire to heavily. Usually I like to ping for 2, but not more.
Dont see any use for Rustwing Falcon. One power is bad. I still recommend War Falcon. Can always block and 90% of whites creatures activate him.
Bogstomper is somewhat noteworthy since it's not only stat-wise black's biggest 6-drop creature, but it also has the highest power of mono-black creatures overall, minus Prowling Pangolin. It's still not that exciting for a creature, but it's something to take note of.
Same. It is like the third post I've reported in maybe 10 years.

2nd inciter is also cool. not sure if i want to add a second right now though. i can remember people thought of it as a raging goblin ;D
and it looks like they indeed start printing high cc white cards Knight of the Tusk. sadly its worse than Noble Templar

Browsing the fresh cards I noticed:
Star-Crowned Stag pretty likely to get into T2
Take Vengeance solid spell removal for white
Skymarch Bloodletter black finally gets Wind Drake, even with upside
Sparktongue Dragon a common dragon and a flyer in red with some flood protection. Not sick, but interesting
Silverbeak Griffin a functional Leonin Skyhunter
