Squirrely you should definitely place Aven Riftwatcher, it's a crazy good life gain spell, and it's not just good in lifegain decks, it's great in any control deck.
Well I am now considering Golden Demise in the wake of ascend not being as hard to get to as I thought.
I found time to run my cube on the weekend and was on the receiving end of Sac two tokens to maw of the obzedat, flaying tendrils away your board, kill you. I am thinking of replacing tendrils with golden demise since its only killing tokens anyway. There is a lot of tokens in my modern peasant cube so I can see it actually being used in these board stall scenarios.
Okay I probably missed a bunch of context there. Basically these wraths are only very strong against token decks because in my aggro decks there are so many 3 toughness creatures, particularly for the ground based aggro decks. The exile is almost only ever relevant against blood artist and the like, because there isn't any mass return of weenies or anything. So golden demise is more versatile since you can also use it to break a board stall as a sort of strange overrun.
Oathsworn Paladin, however, is still quite cool. It's different from the other life gain matters cards in that it doesn't need a steady stream of life gain throughout the game to matter, and it fits better in grindy decks than it does in aggressive ones. A single Blood Artist (or other recurring source of life gain) and 1 or 2 incidental sources of life gain are enough for me to run it in a grindy creature deck (like B/W sacrifice). Even if it's a late game advantage. It doesn't need much, and doesn't cost me a ton of other slots to be in my cube.
I was actually considering it as a Reassembling Skeleton double. If I read you right it's been working well in that role for sac decks?
I think this set was rather shallow for Peasant personally.
I added: Martyr of Dusk[/card] (White may want this effect for the Orzhov token sac deck?) Skymarcher Aspirant (Easy swap with Elite Vanguard... 2/1 with a potential late game upside) Charging Tuskodon (Maybe good? or too slow.. we'll see)
I'm not including the 2/1 Murder dude simply because I don't like having too many EtB kill effects in the cube.
Not including the 3/4 Naturalize dude because I have enough of that effect.
