It was already posted in the previous page and as was stated there, the Battleship remains bad. A 4/6 Vigilance creature for 5 would be nice but kind of eh. It being a vehicle with Crew 2 makes it pretty much unplayable. I still run Qal Sisma Behemoth which shares some similarities but which is also 2 mana cheaper to play and uses mana rather than other creatures to become active. Most do not bother with it either.
The Merfolk is not worth a Simic slot by a far shot. The dinosaur... Well, at least it is interesting. However, it also costs 6, requires additional conditions to be met for its effect, and supports decks which tend to have lower curves.
There is also Pillars of Genesis: 2-mana 5C mana rock... for creatures of specified type. They could at least have it provide colourless mana as well. As is, the card is purely parasitic.
Wild nactl is sorta a staple and sorta not, in my opinion. It is usually an isamaru, but because it only works in half of all green decks not running it makes sense to me.
The two vehicles shown thus far smell strongly of "wow we made them way too good in KLD, let's tone it down by five notches".
Like... a cube can only have X amount of vehicles, realistically. How big does X have to be to consider either of the new ones? (Both of which are uncommons AND were showcased as early preview cards!) You're probably adding all of these first...
Do they test that far ahead? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that a lot of the next set is close to finalized by the time the previous set's power level is figured out. EDIT: Amonkhet happened...right, excuse me :S
Rampaging Gladiodon: 3RG for 5/5 Trample that pings all other creatures when it enters the battlefield.
At some level, I know that is a pretty strong effect. On the other hand, it just feels so insultingly minor on a 5-drop. Things are definitely not helped by the fact that the effect being symmetrical for Enrage-purposes makes this card incompatible with all but very few decks since it kills your mana dorks and smaller aggressive creatures.
Oh, Marauding Looter actually seems interesting. I like it. I might even consider replacing Bloodwater Entity with it. That was mostly intended to be rebuying key spells like Rise from the Tides but its colour restriction is actually problematic for that since those decks work just as well outside Izzet and related tricolour combinations.
I really like Marauding Looter. It's a good curve-topper for tempo, or a good midrange threat for U/R Midrange. Will probably cut Jilt for this, since, while it is a good 2 for 1, I often find it slightly lacking, and more of a card to hose aggro.
Idk, clearing 2 guys is good for aggro to beat midrange decks as well.
I think the ,looter is "fine". If fo whatever reason you don't have a good attack on turn 4, the card does nothing. If you get one loot, then you have a slightly worse 4 mana 4/3 etb loot (whichis very meh). So you need two loots to be good, I think, and it isn't a great size to attack and survive combat.
Call to the feast- seems good making a bunch of tokens is what BW wants to do.
Marauding Looter 4 is way too much mana, my UR decks do a lot of mana cheating with low cost card draw/filtering and 2 mana looting already available.
Rampaging Gladiodon, seems super strong to me. I have sooo many 1/1 tokens, particularly flyiers. That can be a struggle for GR to fight through. Sure I killed my mana dorks but this was what I was ramping into it.
Sleek Schooner seems good might be better than the train (Renegade Freighter). I basically only want to play vechicals with 1 crew cost (since it makes tokens more dangerous)
I am also looking forward to seeing more explore cards.
Ah I forgot the train had trample, train is still better. Yeah I see what you mean, really needs a keyword to make me want to play it.
A deck with a lot of 1/1s that can't get through with them wants to be able to turn them into more of a threat similar to equipment but most of my equipment doesn't pump toughness.
I also don't think adding lifelink to captain's call would make it break into a gold slot. You need pumps to make it worthwhile, and while white has them, if you don't draft/draw them it's just barely better than a card nobody runs.
Unfortunately, Marauding Looter is not what I am really looking for in my UR archetype. Tempo is definitely there, but mostly as a defensive tactic not offensive.
I almost still want to test Tishana's Wayfinder probably in place of Civic Wayfinder, its close for me. I really like the explore ability, it essentially fills into all of my GX archetypes and I can see playing this card in almost any GX deck. It doesn't do color fixing like Civic Wayfinder definitely does, however if the top card of your library is a land, but non-basic it still picks it up. If it's not a land you get a +1/+1 counter (part of my G/W or G/R) archetypes AND you get to scry. The best part of this scry for me is that you can put the card back on top or in your GY. G/x is also highly GY involved as well which is very interesting. The card definitely peaks my interests, but am not 100% convinced. Maybe this is is a replacement for Yavimaya Elder instead... we'll see. Yea, maybe Yavimaya Elder.
Not getting mana screwed (or color screwed) is the entire point of Borderland Ranger, though.
"Sometimes 3/3 with scry 1" is better for aggro decks I guess, but it's just going to be a bad 2/2 draw-a-land idiot nearly half the time still, so it's not really an aggro playable. Better than Borderland Ranger there, yes, but not doing enough to actually make it into the deck.
Think so? Hm
I assume something like 60ish% of the time you don't keep the card (from my sample watching akh drafts and post mulligan scrys), which means 40ish% of the time you get centaur courser.
The bonus about this card being a 3/3 for me is the fact that it has a +1/+1 counter on it, which I support quite a bit. There are multiple factors that make this card excel in my opinion. I'm still not 100% convinced of this card specifically. But I do think it fits really well in my colour block and although you don't get to choose which effect you get, I believe each effect is quite powerful.
You're not flipping a coin between Ancestral Recall and Time Walk here. Either mode (3/3 for 3 or a worse Civic Wayfinder) is playable as an individual card only because they're RELIABLE.

Hell, I'd probably even rather have Irontread Crusher...

Gaining free value at EoT for doing something that the tempo deck wants to be doing is quite strong.
I think he's more interesting than some of the cheap, spells matters/tempo Izzet creatures. I will definitely be giving him a shot.
