Lay of the Land was never a bad card, but not that exciting. So giving it to all colors is sweet, and the fact if you don't need to use the landcycling you can play it as a land. Seems pretty good to me.
Nah, Lay of the Land was and is a bad card. It has even been replaced with a strictly better version in Attune with Aether just recently. However, this card is amazing. The fact that it is an ETB untapped land changes everything, and being colourless also makes it just so much better because green already has better cards than Lay of the Land for the effect. Finally, this is one more small piece of support for Worm Harvest in Peasant. I might be overreacting but currently I am in love.
I think is the best colorless-generating land we have.
Peasant guys are really hyped about this, maybe too much?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great. Best possible second land in your opening hand. Filters the deck late game, and enters untapped if you hardplay it.
But I think we don't need lands in the graveyard as hard a Peasant guys, and don't have colorless costs either.

I'm sure there's some fringe situations where it's worse, but the fact that you can spend 1 to get any basic to hand and play it untapped seems just as good as what you do with Wilds... then if you have all your colors and need to draw an untapped mana source to cast a 4-drop, it works for that.
Assuming your opening hand has a basic and this, you can effectively build your own Evolving Wilds by cycling this turn 1 and playing your new basic turn2 (same as a Wilds not producing mana when played).
Yeah "turn 0" only matters if you keep a 1-lander. Yes it's better to keep Wilds as your one land rather than Barrens, but the odds of that happening are super, super low.
It's not a "strict upgrade", technically, but I think it's clearly a stronger card and a higher pick for basically every deck. Don't cut Wilds/Expanse for it by any means, though
In theory Evolving is better for landfall, but I've never seen double landfall via Evolving. Never.
The true advantage of Evolving Wilds over these is the art. There are 5 different Evolving Wilds' arts, and I have one of each in my cube. If I was ever thinkin in expanding the cube and had space for 5 more lands, I could see myself running 5 of these, or at least one and other 4.

Its definitely worse than fetches, because you cant cast any 1 drops while playing this. its an ok color fix and synergizes with some gy stuff, but i dont think ill add this.
I designed a card like that few years ago, it produced no mana but had basiccycling 0, that would be a card

You should probably cut Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse too since they have the same bug.

uhm? considering you also need a basic on your starting hand, fetches allow casting 1 drops turn 1 and 2
edit: ok i misunderstood the card, it also allow for the same sequence since the cycled land can be played. nvm, ill play it ;D its even better than wilds since midgame you can just play it if you dont need fixing without tempoloss
I don't want to cut any of my lands so I need to cut an artifact, but I'm not sure which is cutable.
-Sylvok Lifestaff can be insane in any kind of race situation.
-Opaline Bracers is amazing in every 3-colored deck or even decks that are just splashing for a 3rd color.
-Perilous Myr is a great blocker for control decks, that can either trade with an X/1 and a X/2 or up to a X/3, when blocking.
-Cathodion is just rock solid and a great filler for many decks.
The Barrens themselves are good, but they're no Terramorphic. They should be run together, not at the expense of the fetches.
The Barrens are drastically better than Terramorphic Expanse, that was the entire point of a few posts' worth of discussion above.
It's still definitely correct to keep Wilds/Expanse (since those cards are way better than Guildgates or whatever else at C or even C/U rarity), but I don't think there's a situation when you should ever draft Evolving Wilds over Ash Barrens when they're in the same pack.
This is our common card from the set.
I loathe creatures! Praise Prison and Land Destruction!

Am I missing something obvious?
Can't landcycle on turn 0
Can cause weird issues with color early game
I won't be cutting expanse/wild for it, but will throwing it into the cube.
Draft it on Cubetutor here, and CubeCobra here.

Currently I cube 6 evolving wilds. Any reason not to replace them all with these?
I guess the landfall creatures would be sad

you should move Wretched Gryff to blue
from your list, cathodion seems the most boring
were there any rarity changes in commander?
