I don't think it would put me in blue, but if I'm already in blue I'm picking it highly. The fact that it is instant speed is excellent for your opponents end step if you need to find an answer to something they've just done, or in the late game with enough mana, potentially finding an answer while something is on the stack. While it can be used re-actively that way in any blue deck, synergy/combo decks can use it more proactively to find their pieces, like digging for a reanimation spell or something to kickstart a graveyard value deck. That's the same for any of the cheap 'digging' cards, but the combination of 4 deep, 2 mana, no 'whiff mode' and instant speed is a strong spot.
You know it has to be great if Wizards has printed a strictly worse version that still sees play in constructed formats.
I tend to pick the 1-mana cantrips like Preordain and Ponder higher when I draft because I'm more likely to to cast it on curve or with less disruption to my curve in the earlier stages of the game, but I'm always happy to have Impulse in any deck with blue mana in it. Stone cold staple.

I think the card is above average, but I couldn't get behind Io's all-in description. At the end of the day it's a cantrip that may actually not allow you to play all of your stuff this turn from time to time, and isn't anywhere near shriekmaw, cloudgoat, etc.

Right, it's not a premier creature or removal spell (and those should be like 80-90% of your deck) but it's super powerful if you're ever in a setting where two mana would go otherwise unused. The best of the next FOUR cards is just great.
Interesting one. In my mind, its biggest pro is that it's a strong effect that rewards being heavy green. I find that green has the fewest flashy, first-pickable cards in general, so I'm always looking for more ways to have players pulled towards drafting green.
Its biggest con is that it's not fun to play against. If the Overrun player has any sort of board advantage, often nothing short of a counterspell will be of any use against it. It technically requires some setup to work, but I haven't decided if "play creatures, play Overrun, win game" is a strategy I want to support.
I can see the argument for cutting it on a "oops I win = bad" basis and it's certainly something I'm thinking about after this thread, but I don't really want to depower green when I have a hard enough time getting people to play it in the first place. It's really the strongest anchor for basing your deck firmly in green in my cube.
I like having it in my cube for being a strong pull into green. There's lots of reasons to play every other color in the cube, but I've found green lacking a bit. The presence of Overrun helps with that somewhat. Also, there's enough removal running around in my cube that the "play creatures --> play Overrun --> win game" thing doesn't happen as reliably as you might think. It still happens, for sure, but it's not a foregone conclusion.
Croc is like the epitome of looks meh, plays very solid. It always makes me go back and re-evaluate other Evolve dudes... then confirm that there's nothing good (after Cloudfin Raptor which I still like a fair amount).
Story circle is hard to rate. At least it isn't randomly color specific, and it isn't exactly efficient. You already need a good deck to make it work, and then after that you can pay mana to shut down 2/3s of your opponent's attackers. My support for it comes and goes.

Redeemer probably just isn't worth it over serra angel. that angel protects you on her own for less, and this guy has a terrible worst case scenario. Even at 2 guys, you aren't doing *that* much better than aven rifrwatcher.

You could always run the Beatdown box set version or the FNM promo if you prefer the original art:
I've actually never much liked the original art, but I do prefer the Teferi quote in the original flavor text.

I also really dislike the beatdown box symbol. I have first world magic issues, clearly. That was a good suggestion though, thanks.
