Support has the additional advantage of supporting (redundant redundancy is redundant) two archetypes at the same time: swarm and permapump (auras+equipment+counters).
I suppose that I could try the Lagac if I finally include the green eldrazi scionmakers, but I still didn't do that.

Honestly, the Lagac seems solid; not sure why it got overlooked initially. Sure it's bad on an empty board, but I find that players don't often have empty boards early in the game, unless the opponent is just curving out with removal spells (in which case I agree with Metalevolence that you are running too much removal if this is consistently the case). I am going to add it for testing.
Getting two +1/+1 counters out of it is either a dreamland scenario, or a game you were probably winning with any other four-drop.
Getting one +1/+1 counter out of it makes it into a weird Viashino Warrior who trades down even harder and maybe lets one of your early drops trade up. Hardly the stuff of legend.
Getting no counters makes it the worst card in your cube.
So if the variance on this guy seems to go from about-as-good-as-other-4-drops-that-also-don't-suck-on-empty-board to worst card in cube, it has very little appeal for me. I'll get on the soapbox and say Byway Courier offers a much better stats-to-cost ratio and arguably better value

Uh... No?
What about times where both players played some guys on turns 1-3 but now yours are bigger? What about when they are holding hard removal for your cool 4+ drop but instead you split the P/T over 3 bodies?
All you have to do to make this card work is build a deck with a high creature count.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong for not cubing this, but I'm pretty sure it's a solid card. As I said, I think it's comparable to travel prep and stronger than shoulder to shoulder, which are cards I have seen in plenty of lists.

This is pretty much the biggest reason to run Lagac. You get to keep tempo in the damage race with a pseudo-haste effect that also keeps your dudes relevant.

Well, I'd rather play a consistent 4 drop than an inconsistent one. This doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement if it's only worthwhile when it gets shot down and you happened to have the creatures to benefit from it
All you have to do to make this card work is build a deck with a high creature count.
Put as many creatures into your deck as you like. It won't help Lagac on an empty board, which is likely to happen, just as a board with two+ creatures is likely to happen at some point. The Lagac's value comes from high counts of creatures, so tokens and recursion also go a long way for it. Without warping your deck around it, there's too much risk involved.
Nor does the pump help that much, because the Lagac trades down so poorly, which opens the way for your opponent's stronger cards to deal with the pumped up early drops more conveniently
The effect is definitely strong when it triggers. You see a solid card, but I see one that is inconsistent in its effect. I don't need a card that has a chance to whiff this badly, on such a mediocre body

It's not too hard to build a deck that consistently casts 2 creatures within turns 1-3.
I could see you saying it's "likely" I'll be holding my saddleback lagac and looking at a board of just one creature, and that's fair to say, but saying my board is "likely" EMPTY? Are you running multiple copies of arc lightning or something like jeez
Btw, In wonder if people would be more positive about this card if it had been a sorcery spell with "support 2, then put a 3/1 lizard token into play." I think people are getting turned off by looking at it as a 4 mana 3/1 first. I'm looking at it as an offspring of incremental growth or travel preparations meets bestial menace or something
Just try the Lagac. I was surprised how good the support creatures were in OGW limited. I just don't know how good they are in a cube. I would appreciate if you tell your experience.
In color, Army-in-a-Can bodies. If you support Support, it could work. That said, "not for me". I love tokens, but to kill 4 or so slots to validate an average-at-best card...

Can it curve out, yes.
Do you want an X/1 at 4cc? Assuming no.
It is indeed a defeat for "Eggs in 1 basket", but it itself is fragile. See Expedition Raptor
But we have seen this ability before, and it is seldom played:
Supply-Line Crane works because of the anti-Empty Board ability of targeting, and it itself is fearsome. Compare that to Emissary of the Sleepless
