Banshee of the Dread Choir
3BB
Creature - Spirit
Myriad (Whenever this creature attacks, for each opponent other than defending player, you may put a token that's a copy of this creature onto the battlefield tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker he or she controls. Exile the tokens at the end of combat.)
4/4
Whenever Banshee of the Dread Choir deals combat damage to a player, that player discards a card.
Illusory Ambusher

Creature - Cat Illusion
Flash
Whenever Illusory Ambusher is dealt damage, draw that many cards.
"Violence is the food it craves. Feed it if you dare." - Doriel, mentor of Mistral Isle"

Well the best-case on this guy is pretty insane. And it's probably not too hard to get it to soak up at least 2-3 damage. Pretty dreadful against tokens or evasive aggro decks, though.
Dies to removal and IS removal. I mean, crappy form of Kill Shot removal, but still removal.
I don't like when their 1-2 mana removal can be used to counter my removal that costs 5 mana. I don't like when their 1-2 mana removal can be used to counter my card draw that costs 5 mana. This card does more than Neck Snap or Jace's Ingenuity when it works but it is going to work a much lower % of the time than either of those cards. Also sometimes you want to draw cards on your main phase or they only have 1/xs and 2/xs, etc.
Acolyte of Pain this is not.

Obviously I rather spend 5 mana for the sure thing (Jace's Ingenuity), but this obviously has a sweet BCS. It'll happen too inconsistently for me to consider cubing it though.
I think I will add it. After all, this card also has one more form not mentioned: effectively hasty 4 damage to the face whenever they do not have blockers (and sometimes when they do but they are too big). Flash is one one my favourite creature keywords in blue, and the cat can do some serious lifting. Of course, there is also the fun case of boosting its toughness and using Pyrohemia or Pestilence. Or simply sweeping the board with damage for value in any case. It is much too cute for me to exclude.
On that note, thoughts on Skullwinder? It has a very relevant body and the effect can be abused. Of course, the symmetry of the effect likely makes it bad. Interesting design, though, and this start seems very promising on that front.
I actually very much like the Eternal Snakeness. The goal is to return some busted 3-for-1 to your hand while they get a donk 2-3drop that the snake will trade for/eat anyway. Good in ramp/midrange/control against aggro, sadly not an effect that is really needed but I do like the card despite it probably not being good enough.
Maybe if you really want to go HAM on supporting the Sultai graveyard/self mill deck this could get the nod.

I think Ambusher looks pretty sweet. It dies to removal, sure, but they have to have instant-speed removal, and when it doesn't die it trades with so much and then draws you a bunch of cards in return. "Dies to removal" is less relevant when they have to have instant speed removal to get rid of it when you need to.
Snake, on the other hand, looks pretty bad. It's not really an asymmetrical affect as you can't control what they have in their bin, so if they have a card in their GY that you can't let them get back, the snake is unplayable. The incredibly low floor doesn't justify the sometimes high ceiling.
Sure but the goal is for you to get Shower of Coals or Opportunity or something while they're getting a Serra Angel-esque card. Or for you to get something while they get nothing because you turn3-4 this in a self-mill deck.
Again I don't think it is good enough but I like it and think it becomes good enough if you decide to support the deck it goes in.

Then there's the other 50% of the time when your opponent has the Shower of Coals-type bomb in the graveyard and you want to get back something much worse?
There's nowhere near enough "self mill" for this guy to be worth playing.

Horrible argument.
"Then there's the other 50% of the time when you have 8 creatures and your opponent has a mana elf. Wrath of God is a bad card."
If your opponent has better targets then you...don't cast it. If your deck doesn't have a fair number of good targets...don't run it.
I agree that the card is probably not good enough to run but not for that reason. I do agree that we pretty much all don't run enough self mill/gy interactions for him to work on that axis but it still remains an option.

Wrath is insanely good when you're behind and bad when you're already winning.
This is the opposite -- pretty good if you're ahead, the opposite when you're losing. That's a ton worse. And even when you're winning, it's never going to be reliably great (like, say, Armageddon).

Obviously this card is worse than wrath in general.
Your (first) argument was still, "'Card X' isn't good enough because if you cast it in 'Situation Y' it helps your opponent more than you." That argument is bad. It doesn't matter how much better or worse the best and worst case scenarios are, if it is bad for you to cast a card, don't cast it. If a card is bad in your deck, don't play it.
Again, I don't plan to run this card for a long duration though I probably will try it out for a draft or two at some point just because I like it a lot and want to see what it does (if anything) in my environment. I don't think it is good enough but not because of bad reasons.

Saying "when the card is bad, don't cast it" isn't exactly an argument in the cards favor. If the card has a floor so low that it's uncastable it'd have to be Standstill strong for me to put it in my deck (and honestly I probably shouldn't be cubeing standstill but I really like it :P).
Is card parity on a irellevent body with deathtoich thrown in. I can't see a situation where I wouldn't be thinking "I wish this card was either Eternal Witness or Ambush Viper rather than some watered down immitation of both"
In a non-multiplayer Cube, Brood Viper is worthless. However, Sandstone Oracle might have some uses. Costing 7 when colourless has recently been flooded with Eldrazi will probably keep it off lists, though. At that point in the game, the opponent is probably not going to have a hand full of cards.

The issue here is that in a peasant cube where there are so many of these super-value cards, situation Y is probably a common occurrence, or at least common enough that there will be too many spots where you can't cast it.

Average case for Oracle is, what, 1 card drawn? Worse? Nooooo thanks.
Multiplayer magic is steaming garbage, pity they're wasting a cycle of uncommons with that mechanic
