Cards I've seen in action so far: Sentinel of the Eternal Watch: Bomb Skysnare Spider: Very solid ramp target. Vigilance helps a lot. I think it's the best green six drop we have.

Agreed on both counts. I've also been getting strong results out of Consul's Lieutenant. White weenie has received several boosts over the past year, and Origins put it over the top.

Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 6/29/20 (Core Set 2021).
I just had a conversation about it today, but I decided that not getting it down on turn 3/4 is devastating to the value of the card. The average control vs aggro game is probably won by a control deck around say turn 10/11 (total guess) so you'd need a bit of help to get this to be how you're winning. It certainly doesn't help you win so it's like mulliganning with the caveat that if you play nothing on turn three, you get "I win" with suspend 9 attached to it. In the meantime it makes random cards like your opponent's firebolts and eternal witnesses better, meaning you have a harder road to victory than before.
I can't commit to it.
You're probably right. If you win the game with a tutelage, you probably could have won the game with squire.
that's not really true. noncombat win conditions are good for slow control decks, but it just depends on how strong control is in your cube as to how good this card will be. if elixir of immortality is good, for example, tutelage will probably be great.
I think some of those assessment assume that Sphinx's Tutelage is the only mill effect you have. It's the best one we have access to, but if you had two other similar redundant pieces in your deck, the chance of getting one of them down early is greater, and if you land a second, you accelerate the game plan.
I am assuming that you aren't using mire deckslots on cards that do nothing but make your game plan harder until you win, yes. It seems like it'd be hard to get through a game where your turn 3 kind of says "2U: discard this card" and somewhere down the line you draw curse of the bloody tome or something.
You would really need psychic spiral to be drawn and go off.
Yeah, I get that each one of those types of effects you draw doesn't affect the board, and if you had multiples in your opening hand you would want to be mulliganing. But I'd be wary of just building around only a single one of them; if it gets countered or meets removal, you just threw out your whole game plan and the rest of your deck is either not built to win, or you have to shift gears completely. Agree that Psychic Spiral is a good option. All speculation; I haven't included any of these effects in my cube (yet).
Pretty sure whirler rogue has been my #1 choice since the beginning, and it still lives up to the billing. Card is so phenomenal.
I cut war horn and shadows of the past
I never tried magmatic insight, gather the pack (garbage), or blesses spirits.
Jhessian thief and sentinel are both great as expected, as is acolyte of the inferno. Boggart brute and skysnare spider have been below expectations but fine, with spider doing slightly better. Wyvern's great and provides needed buildaround to the draft. Undercity troll is above average. Consul's lieutenant is in the "nearly great" category, easily the bet WW card we have.
I'm also very positive at the moment with the renown+menace goblin.
Possessed Skaab - Welcome to value town, this is basically Eternal Witness. Would be a staple if it wasn't guild. 9th best Dimir card for me.
Bounding Krasis - Simic is really really deep, but the krasis is continuing to perform. 4th best Simic card for me.
Stuff I'm not playing:
Gather the Pack - Card seems like trash. It will never ever have spell mastery, so literally every green 2 drop is better. Lead the Stampede does it better.
Jhessian Thief - Really good card. Not running it is questionable.
I'm curious why you found Topan Freeblade to be bad. I don't think a bear with vigilance is too bad for the cube environment, though without the renown it's certainly not cubable. Freeblade has been a solid 2 drop for me, not the best in white, but not the worst.
In ORI there aren't a ton of two drops that interact with it favorably, but in my c/ube it gets blocked and killed by most of the two drops. I'd play it if it was red, but white has enough better options that I'll never find room. I'm not scared off by CC mana costs like a lot of you guys, which doesn't help its case. I DON'T think a vigilance bear is fine. I don't think it's the worst either, but I think it's underpowered.
I haven't been able to draft too recently, but here are my thoughts from what I added from Origins:
Boggart Brute - Don't think this has seen play in my cube yet, but I'd wager it'll perform just fine.
Bounding Krasis - Also hasn't seen play. I'm very high on this card though. It's staying in unless they print the mother of all simic cards and I'm forced to swap.
Citadel Castellan - Phenomenal. If you're supporting the +1/+1 counters theme, this is an all-star for sure. Very strong and my group loves it.
Conclave Naturalists - Does what it needs to do. Nothing you don't already know.
Gather the Pack - Also hasn't yet shown up, but I'm keeping it in because I like the extra support for GBu graveyard.dec
Goblin Glory Chaser - If you're not running this then you're wrong. It breaks faces in Rx aggro. Get on the train.
Jhessian Thief - Paints a huge target, and rightfully so. This has shown up a few times and been an MVP in all of them.
Patron of the Valiant - Showed up once and got played just as a flyer (the guy who drafted it just wanted the body, didn't go out of his way to draft +1/+1 counters.dec)
Possessed Skaab - 9 stars out of 10. It's basically Eternal Witness in UB.
Shadows of the Past - Showed up, got drafted late, didn't get played. I still like the card but I don't think it's good enough. Will replace with Vampiric Rites as someone else also mentioned earlier.
Shambling Ghoul - Ehhhh. It's the 2-drop I need, not the one I deserve.
Topan Freeblade - It's... fine, I guess? I think I liked it more in ORIx3 booster draft.
Undercity Troll - See above. No issues here but I won't hesitate to cut it if something better comes along.
My 360 Peasant+ Cube!. Modern borders where possible, usually with the newest (or "best") art, and always the most readable card text. I also run all 10 painlands. My playgroup is super casual, as we have a fair number of newer or less experienced players. Typically we draft with 4 to 6 people, using 5 packs of 9.
I wish Tracker's Instincts looked at the top five cards instead of just four. I think it'd be great for promoting G/U as a potential self-mill archetype.
I feel pretty good with squirrel here seismic elemental didn't work but it may be an environment thing? Whirler rogue is a first pick for me. Wyvern has done well for me and I love the build around. Still not interested in tutelage or enthralling Victor but I am surprised that shadows of the past is doing well.

Skysnare Spider: Very solid ramp target. Vigilance helps a lot. I think it's the best green six drop we have.

I don't imagine that calculated dismissal is as good as complicate, so it never registered to me as playable once I made that comparison.

- Acolyte of the Inferno - Been very good, super happy with it. Not necessarily a staple though.
- Consul's Lieutenant - Noticeably stronger than most other two drops. Staple.
- Whirler Rogue - Staple. Versatile, interesting, fun, strong.
- Skysnare Spider - Exactly what I needed. Staple.
- Possessed Skaab - Welcome to value town, this is basically Eternal Witness. Would be a staple if it wasn't guild. 9th best Dimir card for me.
- Bounding Krasis - Simic is really really deep, but the krasis is continuing to perform. 4th best Simic card for me.
