After seeing Worldheart Phoenix downgraded to Uncommon in MM2015, I wondered if anyone supports a five color archetype in their cube? If so, what cards do you use to support it? Is it viable on a consistent basis?
There's a lot of overlap with the domain mechanic if you want to push this as a theme. Tromp the Domains in particular is a pretty good pay-off for having 4-5 basic land types in play.
Similar to other niche archetypes, you'd probably have to slow/power down your draft environment a bit if you want it to work regularly. There's not much point in going 5c if you can get things like Cloudgoat or Flametongue Kavu and play a basic two color deck.
You could just add more fixing. There was a time in my cube where 4-5 cc wasn't a rare sight. My fixing at 400 was:
4x City of Brass
4x Mirrodin's Core
5x Vivids
10x Tri Lands
2x Gemstone Mine
3-4x Signets
Coldsteel Heart
Sphere of the Suns
Although those decks would never play cards like Fusion Elemental, Etched Oracle and Tribal Flames. I mean, if you have access to all colors why would you play such sub-optimal cards? I guess that would be the biggest problem.
5 color is really just playing the most value cards in each color without succumbing to mana problems. I see no need to support it with cards that can't get played outside of it.
The main cards for this that come to mind for me are:
Fusion Elemental
Etched Oracle
Vivid lands
Tribal Flames
Dragonsoul Knight

You have a few archetypes that are supportable. There's a 5c blink deck revolving around crystal shard, diabolic servitude, victimize, ghostly flicker and all of the best ETB guys in each color. Recruiter is key here and can fetch all of the splicers, triskelion, trostani's summoner, etc.
There's also a 5c Isochron scepter deck. Having access to all of the tutors as well as regrowth and eternal witness make this a pretty sweet build.
There's potentially a 5c dredge deck centering around hermit druid, dredgers, spider spawning, etc....we now have worldheart phoenix too which nice incentive for 5c.
And lastly there's a theoretical 5c peregrine drake combo deck...my attempt at it:
