Anyone tried using this as an additional way to abuse blue ETB creatures? It's cheaper to use than Crystal Shard, but a bit more narrow since you can only bounce blue cards and can't target your opponent's creatures. Obviously a bit weaker against removal, but many people will be hesitant to "waste" removal on a 1-drop. There might be decks that want redundancy and could use both cards though.
Maybe it's too cute, but I think I'm going to at least test it out.
Yeah, it is strictly better in almost all situations I suppose. But as the drake was sort of "the original" I think it should at least get a mention. Plus, it can bounce itself so you can keep re-casting it for stuff like Spirit Warden, Genesis Chamber, Griffin Protector.
I would only consider the gorger, because it's easy to imagine the others pigeonholing you into playing suboptimally for their color requirements. The oni of wild places isn't so bad, I suppose, either. At least it does something if you have nothing.
Oni of Wild Places actually looks really sweet to me. I've been struggling to find a red 6-drop that I would be truly happy with, and this guy might actually fit the bill. A 6/5 Haste for 6 is a fine deal, and red typically isn't the color that wants to be on the defensive, so its drawback should be minimized in that color. Turns 6+ you should also have at least one or two other creatures out, so you probably won't find yourself locked into re-casting it every turn.

Edit: Especially when you remove the blue rares such as Peasant.
