I brought the idea of creating a website dedicated to Peasant cubes to the discussion thread, and I saw a lot of support. So let's do it!
Anybody can help out as little or as much as they like. The general concept so far is that the website will have articles and podcasts discussing the Peasant cube in general, card choices, strategy, archetypes, etc. Also, draft reports and deck analyses would be sweet.
We were thinking of creating a search engine that has a database of all cards with ratings and archetypes for each card in terms of the Peasant cube, but apparently Cube Tutor is doing that. I'm happy to continue discussion on the search engine later, but I think working on the articles et al right now would be best.
I'll begin working on the web template over the next few days. Also, we need a name for the site.
So, if anybody wants to help write or record, or if you have any ideas, post here
What is Cube? What is Peasant? Why should I play it?
How do I start my own Peasant Cube?
Peasant Power Banlist (for power reasons) and Controversy (including inclusion of painlands, custom errata (squadron hawks), multiple cards (2x Terramorphic expanse), opinion about functional reprints, online rarities, U2 cards, renaissance Triskelion, etc) [This should be a discussion-article, where it includes multiple viewpoints]
Peasant "Unfun" Banlist (Things banned for purposes other than being too powerful in their environment; what cards are just banned for being stupid or swingy? Stuff like ghostly prison, protection from random preset color, and hexproof)
Cards that are great in Rare Cubes and Pauper Cubes but not in Peasant - why? (Sensei's Divining Top, Brainstorm, etc. Should be good article for others to compare when they themselves have a rare or pauper cube.)
Archetype Overview (archetype for each guild, etc)
Specific Archetype Support (this will go into more detail for each archetype and key includes, as well as why you should support these archetypes)
Aggro in Peasant Cube, and Keeping it viable (that ratio of aggro support to ramp/midrange/control support which has to be at least 2:1, cards that go in all-archetype cards even better, key aggro players, keep cube cmc low)
Drafting Strategy Introduction (basics of drafting peasant for someone who has never done it before, less focus on specific cards cause each pez cube is a bit different but just BREAD-type stuff and what you should look out for and which types of effects are strong, and keeping a good curve)
Drafting Theory Discussion (discuss advanced tactics, key pickups, those key archetypal first picks, like leelue's red-blue tempo/aggro!) [multiple viewpoints]
Guild Gold Sections and Hybrid Mana Theory (hybrid "section" that removes from monocolor)
Major roleplayers of Peasant
Darkhorse cards (unexpected successes, etc)
History of Peasant Cube and transition over time as a result of NWO (post-Lorwyn)
UnCards and their Inclusion (Booster Tutor, Carnivorous Death Parrot)
One or two articles, podcasts, or videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Daily "Card of the Day" and perhaps other small activities.

I've got two ideas for articles that I'd be willing to write:
The first is a peasant cubing primer for people who have only drafted regular cubes. Showing which archetypes you can draft, how to evaluate certain types of cards, etc.
And the second would be discussing "peasant power," i.e. cards most of us feel are too strong to use without warping the format (Sol Ring, Skullclamp, etc.).
if i ever cube enough, i'd love to write some stuff. i've added the worm harvest / spider spawning archetype to my cube, so i'll try forcing that whenever i get a chance to cube (when i actually have all the components too).
i kinda agree with majikan, we can just have an articles thread stuck with links to a whole bunch of articles in the main forum. keeping it all here is easy enough.
also macius i assumed dryad arbor was a rare??? man i'm gunna have to seriously consider that guy.
About Dryad Arbor, I am trying (somewhat irrationally) to give all colors only one utility land. Green gets Treetop Village. I could see myself running both, but I wouldn't know what to cut.
Having a database on here would be cool. Maybe a google docs account with links to all relevant information? Perhaps a wiki page?
Dryad arbor is complete trash. Can't tap when it comes in. darkblast becomes stone rain.
I don't think having a separate site with articles and other not-smalltalk things is a bad idea at all. We have a pretty big community now and it would really legitimize and publicize the format. Hell, maybe one day peasantcube.com could have it's own forum and we'd relocate.
We could have an article on the pricy cards and whether or not it's worth getting them. A card by card analysis.
There was a website I used to go to for yugioh called pojo.com. They had a card of the day section a couple times a week and reading those reviews was a big deal for me. There would be a card and a few writers would say a paragraph or two about it, usually humorous. They'd have theme weeks and such as well. I'd like to see that as a feature if we had a site.

I agree with this; having a separate location makes us less a small subset of the MTG playerbase and more of our own autonomous nation group.
but yeah anyway i need to get some cubes with more than two people going so i can really contribute.
I don't see any problem with you writing about two-player drafts, or even writing about theory. If you want to contribute, we can definitely find something for you to do.
EDIT: Any objections to the domain peasantcube.com? I'll buy it now if people agree.
I really like the card of the day type reviews. It would really keep our proposed site going.
@Leelue, I remember the good ole' days of Yugioh and pojo.com. That was when I learned about card advantage, metagaming, and virtual card advantage (more important in yugioh imo). Also, theme weeks would be soooo easy for us.
As for articles, I can see myself writing archetypal articles. I can churn one out every 14~ish days, or even faster if I feel inspired. Draft reports are much easier (I assume), and could be very informative. I feel that peasant cube theory is similar to normal cubes, but the standard at which we judge cards is much more different. For example, threats are much weaker than answers here, in general.
I think one of the most important parts of this whole project would be to make an 'average' or 'aggregate' peasant cube, which would be good for beginners to start with, at 360 and 450. With enough data and time, we should be able to come up with one.
Maybe even selling copies of said cube to maintain the site...
Now there's an idea. A pre-built cube for purchase... No foils or anything fancy. Comes with 600 sleeves, a stack of basic lands, and a box. Interesting...
Sweet idea. There would be some issues that would have to be ironed out, such as who runs the financial side of things, but it could definitely solve the oh-so-common "where to start" problem.
I'll register the domain.
also a "base cube" is a decent idea. i wonder whether having a weekly roster of articles like with daily mtg would be a good idea, or whether doing it fortnightly would be better.
i'm keen to do new set reviews, since i've done them for the past two sets (excluding modern masters).
I know I'd be 100% willing to write articles/generate content for the website and run the power rankings there this year. (Edit: As for peasant power - Mana Drain!) I know I haven't been particularly active here lately but mostly because I've been trying harder to listen instead of just gab, which I have a bad habit of doing ._.
If people want a perspective on high-power peasant I think I am about the highest power cube (Mana Drain, Library of Alexandria, Skullclamp, Sol Ring)
As for financial side of it - could always just start off taking donations. I'd be willing to throw in a few bucks here and there.

I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online.
I'd love to write up something! Perhaps on the social side of cube. The art of soliciting your cube to a new store and the customers, or how to develop a playgroup, and how to keep them coming back for more cubeage! Unless this is strictly Peasant by dealing with the actual cards, decks, and archetypes.
I worry that daily content would be a hassle. Long term? Could be problematic. But Monday Wednesday Friday works well for other sites and I think that's a fair jumping point.
If you want more frequent content
Maybe a card of the day on those three days, and an article covering an archetype on say Thursday, and an article covering something more indepth like expensive cards or color systems or that article magicfever just posted in the mother thread on Tuesdays?
Selling copies of a starter cube would be insaaaaaaaanely sick. only problems would be
1) A list, which would be super fun for us to settle on.
2) Where the hell to store it. Oglor looks like the guy with the most drive and knowledge on the sites upkeep (I have drive, no knowledge) but he's in Oceania. That's hell for shipping I imagine.
3) Getting all the supplies together. I would like at least 2 cubes up before we offered.
I wonder if we could sell singles out of the site too? That's interesting.
How much do we suspect such a domain to cost?
Personally, I don't care if we don't make any money, but could we perhaps end up making chump change over.time if the traffic is high enough? I assume we'd need advertisements (which we'd respectfully keep to a minimum for our non chrome users)

3 days a week doing something like...
day 1-card of the day article/analysis/discussion/etc
day 2-draft cap/archetype analysis
day 3-other (strategy, niche idea, social aspect, whatever, kinda the 'other' slot)
could be doable I think.
I know I keep records of every draft/deck that my cube produces anyway and spend the overwhelming majority of my magic mindspace thinking about peasant cube.

As for settling on a list
How about we take 5 lists from people who feel comfortable, and start with every card that's in at least 4 of them? Then we can work our way up to a 360 cube through votes?

I like the idea of there being a set list associated with the website, so that when the articles are written there is some common ground even if people talk about their own cubes/experiences/opinions.

I think card of the days could be a thing that's really easy and won't need dedication.
Look at this system
3 days a week, and we settle on the cards in advance. by a week or so. Any number of us can write a piece on it for a couple paragraphs or so, and whoever has an essay can post it. Whoever doesn't, doesn't. Hell, we could have people write something and if they want it could be in reserve: goes up if we need it, stays.home if we have other people already who feel better about theirs.
Someone who knows pojo link a card of the day for me? I still don't have.a comp.

So maybe that as an article someone could do exploring that?
540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyDefinitely. I've seen a few people running the archetype.
I'll add it (and a couple of others) to the list.

My Type 4 stack (Cube Tutor link)
If I ran both, I'd add Dryad Arbor as its basically a mana elf that feeds both of those cards when it dies.
