Don't forget that you can trigger the raise dead in response to a block or removal. Seems better in controlling builds that can use it to trade in the early game or raise a bomb in the late game.
No. Drawing the card upfront is super important. Messenger Drake isn't a bad card, but it's not nearly as good as Gryff Vanguard. I'd probably run Sky-Eel School before it, too.
Angelic Accord, Enchantment, 3W, At the beginning of each end step, if you gained 4 or more life this turn, put a 4/4 White Angel creature token with Flying onto the Battlefield. #3/249
Illusionary Armor, Aura, 4U, Enchanted Creature gets +4/+4. When enchanted creature becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice Illusionary Armor. #59/249
Fleshpulper Giant, Creature - Giant, 5RR, 4/4, When Fleshpulper Giant enters the battlefield, you may destroy target creature with toughness 2 or less. #140/249
I might have tested the giant if it cost 4RR, but 7 mana is too much.
Illusionary Armor seems stupidly good with the hexproof evasion dudes otherwise not great. Probably too narrow for most cubes.
I love build-around-me cards, but gaining 4 life is likely too hard to trigger consistently for angel tokens from Angelic Accord. Even if I went out of my way to support it, lifegain decks just take forever and will slow down rounds.
Angelic Accord is pretty cool. As mentioned, it's difficult to trigger it consistently. Lifegain would be a cool archetype to play around with, especially with the Modern Masters card.
I'm not a big fan of Fiend Hunter type effects unless it's on an enchantment. Creature bodies are too fragile to act as reliable removal. And if I want temporary removal, I'll be playing a rush deck, which doesn't want to pay 3 mana for something so small.
That said, if I were using Fiend Hunter, I would play this card over it because I love simple wordings.
Oh you can't even use the new one on your own stuff as a blink effect.
I like it. 2/2 body seems more relevant in an aggressive deck than a 1/3 on Fiend Hunter. I'll probably be happy playing them both. If it came down to choosing one of them, it would be the 2/2.
Too bad they found out a way template-wise to remove the blink abuse from Fiend Hunter/Oblivion Ring type effects. It's good in terms of cleanness and straightforwardness, but it's sad because it's one of white's nifty toys.
Specialities about the cube: U tempo, B aggro, R slow-ish are supported. G aggro is not.
Currently trying to support tokens in all colors but blue, in different ways: W pumps them, B sacrifices them, R suicides them, G has decent-sized ones.

Seacoast Drake seems a decent 2-drop for blue.

Agreed. I seem to appreciate clean, neat design more than most people. Not an apple fanboy, but their designs are always beautiful.
Saving roughly half the text on a card is good.
