Sure, that can happen. But it's nothing quite that dramatic has ever happened in my cube. It does require some kind of opening hand (7) + 3 draws that contains something like
It's similar to how Library of Alexandria can function maybe. I have Library in my cube, and that card is insanely powerful in your opening hand (but i've beaten people that have had that scenario too), but also a super dead card after turn 3 perhaps.
Not that it's a dead card on later turns, but is certainly much less powerful on later turns.
Two, what are the best white combat tricks/pump spells? I have Harm's Way far and away the best, but anything else. I started prioritizing specifically one-mana combat tricks in all colors (Supernatural Stamina, Brute Force, Blossoming Defense) and was trying to find something else. I think the best option is Swift Justice, which plays well in creature combat and could even represent a big chunk of life in a race. Anything else people like at one or two mana?
Well, just to add to Phitt's list: I also run Servant of the Conduit (but not Voltaic Brawler though it would be the next Gruul card I would add). The thing is, though: at Peasant, most of the playable sources of energy are one-shots who support themselves being playable. At times, you get to choose which outlets you want to focus on but the sources being incidental and effects minor makes the archetype not worth going any deeper.
Hypothetically: If you wanted to push energy by including a few options beyond the stand-alones, what could/would you run?
Attune with Aether and Harnessed Lightning both seem to fit in the category of "better cards exist, but they won't be embarrassing in most decks". But beyond those two it gets even harder. You could sub in Highspire Infusion as your green combat trick perhaps, and Riparian Tiger is a decent creature in itself just miles behind the other good green top-end creatures so its inclusion isn't really a "small" sacrifice of overall cube power anymore. Fabrication Module as a worse version of the far from staple Dragon Blood?
To me, it seems that if you do decide to push energy beyond "incidental synergy", you also need to depower other parts of your cube to balance it out.
FWIW Into the Roil is usually used by control decks and kicked in my cube, the alt mode is not kicking it in a pinch. Rushing River is almost exclusively used in tempo decks and is always kicked. Instant speed matters so much.

I have played Rushing River for a while and think it is pretty good. I will admit there are few non-creature spells I want to bounce, but it can be a nice answer to certain cards (Grafted Wargear chief among them). I prefer the instant speed compared to something like Undo, and I think the card is best suited to decks which will utilize the tempo gained. Due to that, I would probably be playing mostly in aggressive decks, but there is room for it in control decks if you might have your own permanents to bounce or as a late game Fog variant (three mana and sacrifice a land to nullify their attack and make them recast their creatures).
I guess the trick is that you can point the taxed half at your own creature, so it can act as a harder to cast Peel from Reality when needed. Then if they do tap out it is a cheaper, instant speed Undo. It can also be an expensive Unsummon that taxes them 1.
Only if you run multiple ways to untap creatures. Since most of those effects are not efficient enough, I would say that supporting Reveka who is not strong enough bu itself would dilute your cube somewhat.
So i may be crazy at the moment but im looking to get my cube an additional 180 cards side board for when I have more than 8 people to draft with. I'm curious if people think it crazy to keep is separate or should I just increase the cube size as a whole permanently?

...there's gotta be a better adjective that describes a card's ability to do nothing unless you're already gonna win anyways.

City of Brass, Island, Mana Drain, another land, bomb, which is certainly possible, but not super duper common enough to warrant not including.

One, are War-Name Aspirant and Stormblood Berserker considered top-notch red two drops? They were briefly mentioned in discussion of Storm Fleet Aerialist and wanted to gauge the room on the red creatures.
