I actually had my player Threaten a Pelakka Wurm for the win last draft.
I think these effects are important in the dedicated aggro decks. I run Threaten (for the badass foil), Mark of Mutiny, and Act of Aggression. Specifically these 3 because I think 3 mana for this effect is where I want it to be.
I think Mark of Mutiny is pretty close to a strict upgrade to Threaten... but I too run Threaten over it cuz best foil, haha.
I also think that most red decks, unless you're as outright aggro as possible, do better with Blind With Anger. At worst, it's +1 mana to Threaten on your turn. At best, it's a sweet combat trick when you're behind and being attacked.
I didn't know about Blind With Anger, I'll definitely find room for that and possibly Act of Aggression as well in my red section. Am I nuts for thinking about running Slave of Bolas as well?

Say I wanted to make my peasant cube completely powered. what would you guys say are cards I should add... I am thinking of adding sol ring, skull clamp, mana drain... as cards that are affordable (mana drain sorta affordable)... will not add cards more than 300$... what other cards would you guys suggest.. even if they are cards that are complete blowouts when played?
Just something I want to mess around with... maybe

That you aren't already running? maybe timely reinforcements, daze, and force of will
Just to answer ahhhabee, I think Arabian Nights would be the place to start. If you allow for U2 cards, there is a lot of power to be had. My personal favourite is still probably Old Man of the Sea. Besides him, I suppose there is Library of Alexandria (not even U2) but I suppose that might go over the budget. Ancient Tomb. Maze of Ith. Sylvan Library. Possibly Force of Will. I think those would be the most expensive cards with a level of power to justify the price. (Juzam Djinn is not as strong as to justify getting one with the current prices.) However, most of Peasant's most powerful cards are actually quite cheap. Loxodon Warhammer and Grafted Wargear, for example. I suppose you might want to include Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, going by the description. Personally, I only exclude those two and Sol Ring. Ghostly Prison is just oppressively good vs. aggro which has enough to slog through as is, and Sol Ring is pure ridiculousness.
I like Fortify and the new Borrowed Grace better as well, but if the card is your alpha strike, it doesn't matter much if you pay 3 or 4 mana for it. Rebound lets you set up two turn lethals on occasion.
How do people use DFC's in your cube? Part of me wants to have a normal copy in a normal sleeve and have another copy of the card in a clear sleeve so you don't have to have people unsleeving them during the game/draft. Has anybody tried this? I'm worried it might be more hassle than it's worth.
I print high-res color proxies, those are sleeved in front of basic lands and used during the draft and shuffled into the deck before games. The actual DFC gets a transparent sleeve and is handed to the players after the draft. Whenever they cast their DFC, they just put the card in the transparent sleeves into play and put the proxy to the side. Minimal effort and much more practical than constant unsleeving and flipping and re-sleeving.
The DFCs in transparent sleeves are also layed out during the draft, so that people who don't know the cards by heart don't have to unsleeve during the draft when they look up what the flipside does.
Opaque sleeves, but all my cards are double sleeved with a Perfect Fit sleeve as well. I don't mind having to take the card out when it is transformed, the Perfect Fit protects it just fine.
Just in case that was unclear from my description above, I use opaque sleeves for my cube, only the sleeves for the actual DFCs are transparent. Both sleeves are Dragon Shields, definitely not using cheap sleeves.
The goal is simply ease of use, this way there's no need for unsleeving at any point. You shuffle the proxy (opaque) into your deck, but when you play, you can just flip the DFC back and forth as many times as you want in an instant, because of the transparent sleeves. When the game is over, you just shuffle the proxy back in. Couldn't be any easier on everyone involved and the card is perfectly well protected all the time (I double sleeve, so unsleeving might also be fiddly at times).
I'm really not sure why people would prefer to unsleeve. Doing that all the time is much more of a hassle than printing a proxy. Of course, using the checklist cards is just as good as using a proxy of the front side.

It saves players the hassle of having to get another copy of the card they just drafted and me the hassle of getting on them to remember to put it back. That's something I have enough problems with involving tokens and basic lands sometimes, I don't want to have it be an issue with actual cube cards.
My cards are all double sleeved, so there isn't any real risk of my DFCs getting damaged by players taking them out of the outer sleeve.

I have the checklist cards in the cube and the actual cards in transparent sleeves. When the draft starts I put the DFC on the table so everyone can take a look at them if they want.

I was dreaming I was heading west thirty days faster
Rebound just seems so pointless on an Alpha Strike card...
I'm sure alpha strike is defined somewhere, but I haven't interpreted it as necessarily winning that turn; just that after developing your board, you are now in swinging mode from which your opponent is unlikely to recover from, which may be the next turn. I haven't played it frequently, but Great Teacher's Decree can set up wins that a 'single casting' version might not. I'm sure we could argue a bunch of board scenarios either way though.
Nothing new to add regarding the new cards, but wanted to come here to comment how I lived the dream this past weekend with my deck.W/B.
I had never really seen Maw of the Obzedat function live, even though people said it was good, I just never understood when just theorizing etc... But my deck had the following and all out at the same time. Needless to say the results in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 FFA were hilariously unbalanced in my favor.
I was able to get 6 tokens from Shrine pretty consistently and from there with the other cards Maw just made it impossible to lose. Obviously when you only have 1 creature or so out, he is less sexy, but damn if really frigging with math and being able to swing for a gazillion damage plus drain anything whenever was so freaking satisfying.
I felt dirty. But was impressed and now finally see the power of MAW.
It's always a fun moment in a game where you take a step back and realise you've leveled up in your understanding of a card/mechanic/strategy/the game in general.
Speaking of living the dream, I had a sweet play last night.
Temur Sabertooth in play. I evoke a Shriekmaw, bounce it with Sabertooth in reponse to the sac. I do it again next turn, and he responds to the evoke cast, and bounces my Sabertooth, so I play Stonecloaker in response to the Shriekmaw sac trigger to get it back anyways... So much value.
