Sourcer's sacrifice effect does seem odd in blue, reminds me of Planar Chaos's color pie shenanigans. I'm not a huge fan of this card outside of Dragons of Tarkir limited. A lot of the time it is just a 3 mana 2/1 flier from my experience with it in a friend's peasant cube.
Haven't been curbing much lately so I don't have any real evidence that the sorcerer is any good. But I really dig having a counterspell that can serve as a win condition.

Went ahead and registered "peasant" and "peasantcube" on cube tutor. Peasant is my main cube, and peasant cube is, for now, a placeholder for a new project I may start work on.
The New project would be a peasant cube but one that is trying to emulate the depth and excitement of something like Modern Masters draft. I could include multiple copies of many archetype defining or cross archetypal cards. Lords of interesting types, maybe a real storm package storm, maybe vent sentinel (?), proliferate, maybe dredge, delve and dredgers, Eldrazi for ramp or reanimator... anything exciting. The nice thing about this project would be that I could eschew getting cards that are money. I won't need more eternal witnesses or remands.
The token would need to be at least a 2/1 to be worth it so that it can score an easy 2-for-1.
@Leelue, that project sounds cool and it's something I've always considered. It's just so hard to push many themes with singleton-only.
It's interesting because it's such a departure from your normal cube, where you even eschew duplicate-like cards.
Unrelated topic - It's been a long time since I've been active on these forums, but I'm finally going to have a regular cubing group again. I didn't feel it was proper to keep posting when it's been years since I last cubed. It feels good to be back!
If I'm paying 6 mana AND sacrificing 3 lands, I better be playing an insane spell. Murder + Zombify is good, but I don't think it's worth that (quite hefty) cost most of the time.
I tried it real early in my cube when people were talking it up (it seems like the sort of thing that could have been game over in mirrodin limited), but it never got picked early and just nobody ever played it.
Plus looking at it now, it looks a lot like Enslave with a huge downside.
Has anyone drafted the Time Spiral storage lands (eg. Calciform Pools)?
They look about as slow as they come, but I understand that they were solid in TPF block, and that mono colored constructed combo decks would run full 8-card sets of them to set up explosive turns.
For those of you who've drafted TPF or who might have jammed them in your c/ubes, would the storage lands be worth using in cubes trying to make combo decks into a thing?
Hello all, I have been an avid user of this thread for a while now to help me build and then maintain my Peasant Cube. For that I must thank everyone who has contributed to this thread! Now that I have been curating a Peasant Cube of my own for over a year now, I feel that I may have something worth adding to this thread.
My first question for this thread is proposed out of a love for alternate win conditions, and while Infect is not the best Peasant Cube archetype I believe Mill may finally have enough cards to become a valid Peasant Cube archetype. With the addition of Sphinx's Tutelage from Magic Origins, is there finally enough good Mill cards to make it a viable archetype for Peasant Cube?

Put a 1/1 Soldier token onto the battlefield.
Draw a card.
Is this total bunk? (As a thought exercise, what would make it better, that is to say, more cubeable?)
Make it a 2/2 token and it's probably a pretty good little card.
