1)Mythic Conspiracies play like Vanguards; So I have them as an option.
2) Whether Wizard's gets thinga to a point we agree with is irrelevant so long as we can logic our way to a cube our personal groups enjoy.
I love Flashback, non-Basics, and Cycling. My cube is suboptimal to many. But I built it to support sealed
Recursion: is it worth running in a pauper deck? Wander in death seems cubable, and I already run Gravedigger (Yes, Cronenberg-style Portal art :D), and spells like Unearth. Is there recursion in other colors worth running? Or does black have the monopoly of pauper playable recursion. What recursion cards are good enough to make the cut in a tier two cube, are there any spell recursion cards worth playing?
My T2 black section got a recursion identity, so i run a bunch of Gravedigger variants, just check it out. I also run Exhume, which can be a cute combo with Putrid Imp+Ulamog's Crusher every once in a while.
I also support the recursion engines Tortured Existence and Undertaker + dredge.
Since I run a Madness/Selfdiscard theme anyway I also play both Breath of Life in white. Its not too high powerlevel wise, but it lets you recurr your best dead creature, which is also cute with the cycling creatures. Greater Sandwurm for cc4 is reasonable.
Blue got the full Peregrine Drake combo, so i added Mnemonic Wall and Scrivener
Red has Anarchist which gets you back some burn.
I'm an idiot. I run most of those cards. Not sure why I was thinking so narrowly. Yeah so I guess recursion is well supported. Let's pretend this never happened
The biggest difference between Aura Flux and those other cards you mentioned is having a critical mass of tax. It makes sense for Aura Flux in an enchantment cube, where you can cripple someone's development completely, but the others dont provide nearly the same effect. Soul Barrier is often going to be a worse Phantom Warrior. Trespasser's Curse and Suture Priest are decent early. Slow Motion sees play in some pauper cubes. Fade Away is a Gotcha card that often whiffs or provides marginal value, so its hit:miss ratio is too wild for me. Death Charmer is just worse than a generic 4/2 for 2B. It also doesnt work with ping enchantments
Worth noting I suppose, that those enchantments are less interactive than their creature versions, but it cuts both ways - your opponent cant get rid of them easily, but you also wont have blockers or a body to pick up equipment when you're on the losing end. Ultimately that's the biggest fault for me - they're only good in a specific, narrow situation and often your opponent has the choice on whether it even affects them
It looks liker the new Chinese set has a white-shifted Aerial Guide. Does anyone run Pegasus Courser and would anyone run this new white drake? I has a big skies archetype in my cube, dunno about anyone else.
Hi guys!! I definitely want to include Keldon Overseerin my cube, at least giving it a try. I think it might be really interesenting, have you tryed it already? Also, what card of my cube would you replace with him?
Thanks a lot!!
I had an easy cut since i wanted to see what Sun-Crowned Hunters was like, but the Overseer is far more flexible and superior. In your cube, inakue, it looks like you may want to cut Thunderous Wrath? That seems like a hard card to hit with in cube, and you already have Fireblast.
Beyond Heavenly Qilin, which seem pretty solid, Not much else of note for us in the global series planeswalker decks. We did get a few somewhat interesting cards to take note of.
our first vanilla 3/1 for two mana in red (Leopard-Spotted Jiao). We already have Mardu Scout but double red isn't easy sometimes though dash does help makes up for it.
Everything else is pretty typically strictly worse planeswalker deck cards. There is some nice art though in the set and really wish Vivid Flying Fish was better because I like the art and the thought of having a flying fish in my cube.
Planeswalker: Heavenly Qilin will end in one of my cubes, proably even in T1
Ill also add Hardened-Scale Armor to T1 since those +3+3 auras are insane in the hexproof archetype
I recently joined the xmage discord cube community. 2 years ago the program was unfinished, but now it supports most commons, except some fringe ones. So come and join as well, so we can get some paupercubes fired.
I would not cut Tah-crop Elite. Gallant Cavalry makes it better. I would cut Knight of Cliffhaven instead. At least in my cube, it has underperformed lately.
I'm not sold on Skeleton Archer, either. I think the Aven is better.

while balancing the early game i noticed that 1/3s for 2 are kinda outclassed by now. The powercreep gave many 2 drops the ability to either ignore them like wandering wolf, goblin trailblazer or just beating them in combat (various power 3). So my prediction we might see them eventually catching up and 1/4 becoming a more common statline for 2. I wonder, since they didnt much more after giant tortoise
Heya, thanks for your reply. Since you didn't give a specific example of a cube and instead mentioned yours I figured you wouldn't mind if I looked it over.
I appreciate your offer to move the discussion to the other thread but that one deals with a different question and I feel better not mixing up multiple discussions in that other thread.
I consider my T1 pretty balanced lol. At least when it comes to archetypes. The colors have their restrictions of course, since blue is mainly a support color and black is really dedicated to control. To me it made no sense to balance each color to a jack-of-all-trades when I started the cube. Thats obviously open for interpretation, since for example by powerlevel of color rabid bite is the best green removal, but by powerlevel of cube its definitely not as strong. That said, it makes for more interesting decks/drafts, when each color can do everything.
Its interesting, that I get the critique my cube seems unbalanced, although most cubes suffer hard to support aggro in the first place and they all end up in midrange fiesta.
Of course I also think as well, both of my cubes are quite good, but I more and more come to the opinion that 360 is too small for paupercubes. The cards are not complex enough to really change the experience. The decks will always end up more or less the same. So THE list is probably 540 or even 720 and I will soon mix my 2 cubes together. That way you cant start the draft with the set goal to pick a certain archetype since you dont know whether the cards are even in the pool.
But at least I agree with Al, that Styborskis Cube is a horrible mess and I feel one of the main reasons people dont like paupercube, because his is the most known.

It's possible that the final card may not be that, but by the translation, it looks like Kirin in just a color shifted drake.

I added Azra Bladeseeker to T2. I really like the effect in general and it works perfectly with the madness theme. I also added Keldon Raider from DOM

Angel of the dawn -> Supply-line Cranes; I love, that I get a playable Angel
Gallant Cavalry -> Tah-crop Elite; Tah-crop elite is solid, but with the angel, I think it can go. Especially as I don't have a lot of slots on 4 mana.
Vampire Neonate -> Disowned ancestor; not sure about this trade, but the sorcery speed pf outlast bugged me. Neonate dies to bolt, but I think, else it is better for control decks.
Goblin Motivator -> Bloodlust inciter; I prefer Goblins over Humans
Viashino Pyromancer -> Stingscourger; Stingscourger could never really shine
Skeleton Archer -> vulturous Aven; This is maybe the most unsure one. Archer can hit 66 creatures in my cube, but Aven provides a lot of card advantage.
any thoughts?
