None of those options look particularly exciting as for fat. I'd have to see a list of your high-end dudes to tell you what you might be missing, but I know Walker of the Grove is one of my favorite fat guys. Here are some of the others I'm playing:
and then the 4/4 for 2GG and a few others I can't recall right now.
As far as color balance goes, I don't really notice an imbalance these days, but it is easier for red to initially be really good. Burn is burn is burn is good.
I've always been pretty tempted to play with rebels because they're a bit of a pet archetype for me because I love the fact that they add both versatility and card advantage to white but they're just aren't enough of them to work in my cube. I run a 360 cube that is most often only drafted by 2 or 4 players. If I ever trimmed my cube down (i've even considered going down to 180 ><), I would probably be very tempted to include the better rebels but they won't show up in my pools enough seeing as sometimes I only see 1/4 of the cube in one draft. Slivers are in an even worse spot than rebels IMO. They not only need a critical mass (even more so than rebels) but also need duplicates in the form of Muscle and Predatory sliver which we can't really cater to in cube.
I like Rebels more than Slivers. The Slivers archetype just feels like one of those things wherein no one drafts it at the table because everyone is scared the next guy is drafting it.
So after a few months of procrastinating + researching + spamming this and Lanxal's thread, I think I've finally settled on my jump from 360 to 450. In a few weeks I'm going to be doing my first 10 player draft with it (beer will be included);
Just wanted to thank you guys for the great input and suggestions - more are always welcome. Special thanks to Runner, TheCooler, Lanxal and Al for putting up with my shenanigans
I think for my final changes I'll be mimicking Lanxal and be replacing;
Wei Ambush Force --> Basillica Screecher
Fire Ambush --> Madcap Skills
(I'm bummed about taking these two out because they were pretty pricey Commons, plus I love Three Kingdoms. Back to the trade binder I guess.)
I guess I'll ask Lanxal - the Screecher really enforces the B/W attrition shell even farther (which includes; Syndic of Tithes, Stabwound, plus the other Orzhov cards). Do you feel like that has made the B/W shell a bit too overpowered or has it been okay?
If you're running slivers, I think you have to include both Shadow Sliver and Winged Sliver. Sure, they're not in the main sliver colours, but they're two of the best in this environment.

I definitely think that it made BW a bit stronger from its already lofty position. Unfortunately I can't quite tell exactly how it has affected the archetype at this stage.

Gotcha. In that case I'll get back to you about it once I draft some more
Deck was fun, went 2-1 in matches with a 2-1, a 2-0, and a 1-2. Won every game that Fa'adiyah Seer managed to get a few activations in, I am really glad I added it to my cube. Even without going a reanimator route (which I assume would suit the card better in draft), the ability to hit every land drop, fix my colours through land availability, and in late game fuel my Cenn's Enlistment was insanely good, and I had enough threat density at the top of my curve that I could afford to mill some of them in missed activations (milled a Hand once, a Hatcher twice, and a Spellbomb once). All in all, a fun deck to play.
Fa'adiyah Seer seems pretty far from the quality available at the green 2 slot. Also, how big is your cube? There are some strange inclusions in that pool of cards.

Seer is pretty unique. And you guys are all missing the awesomeness that is Fadiyah Seer with Madness and Flashback. Fewer of these at common, but there's three blocks of flashback and two of madness now.
There are only 2 playable madness cards at common with out supporting the archetype with discard outlets in multiple colors and even then the playable count doesnt get very high.

Madness, self-mill, flashback, dredge and reanimator spells sounds like a pretty nifty deck. Seer's draw, incidentally, can be replaced with dredge. Might not be the strongest deck in existence but it seems kinda fun. and synergystic.

My cube is currently at 430, but is limited in part by availability of cards in my area (not buying online until I want to take my cube to peasant level {if I end up choosing to do that}, in the interests of supporting local stores). Additionally, due to the lack of certain cards in my area I am able to support interesting cards that might not see play in strictly "top power" cubes. At the moment I feel it is in a nice place, and has room to grow in a more purely power based direction, or in a more synergistic direction.
For the Seer in particular, every store in my area has a complete lack of either Boa, and are entirely out of Werebears. With 3 gaping slots in Green 2 drop like that, there is room to experiment, and the Seer has only impressed in every game I have seen it out.
Ah that sucks! Boa's are amazing. Well cool to see some cards getting some play time. Maybe wizards will give us some more tools to work with different cards like that in up coming sets.
Indeed, I should probably get around to putting my list online for critique sometime, it has some very different tech to most pauper cubes, as limitations on card availability around here has made some cards that are normally staples less effective, and some underused cards get the chance to shine. Could be a fun learning experience for all involved.
Well, support is circumstancial.. it would seem confused, unfocused, and lacking.. it would be fun if you got the combos, but for everyone else, it would kinda be lame.
My Cube started with a decent amount of Madness, Flashback and Morph, and I am at only a few flashabcks, and none of the rest due to tightening the sights on the 360.
I've only played with the Advocate in M14 limited, where it's been okay but not great. The effect is a bit slow and I usually would rather have had a more offensive or independently useful creature in its place. I don't think you can guarantee enough beasts in a given draft deck here to make it worthwhile - most of your beasts are relatively good picks for any green midrange deck, your cube is 450 cards, and you only have a small total number of beasts (some of which are in other colors and some of which don't work with Advocate's ability). If you had something like 20ish playable beasts, I might reconsider it.
I haven't played with the Swordsmith before, but it looks borderline playable. You do have a fair number of soldiers, a 3/2 for 3 isn't terrible by itself, and pumping staple cards like Kor Skyfisher or Porcelain Legionnaire is appealing. However, it also doesn't work that well with a number of the soldiers (Gideon's Lawkeeper, Deftblade Elite, Halimar Wavewatch, etc.) and lacking evasion is a pretty big disadvantage in W/x aggressive decks.
+1/+0 is a fairly small bonus, better than +0/+1 but much worse than +1/+1. I don't really think the Swordsmith is worth it unless you have significantly more Soldiers, especially given how many other potential 3-drops there are to replace it.
There's enough common soldiers to do a soldier tribal theme, especially if you add cards that were made common in the Masters Editions. 5/5 Daru Stinger is quite the beater.
(Yeah it might not be the most powerful but I value fun over raw power. That's why capsize is banned)

For other colors, blue has a couple of solid finishers already:
And the landcyclers are a good option for the other colors that also offer the choice of mana fixing and a minor reanimation theme.
I'd include the blue landcycler as well but that color is already very tight.

Still not enough slivers printed for this to work IMO.

I'd be interested in the dredge deck if it was actually strong enough to make good use of the space it takes up (like rebels) but it just isn't.
