yeah they can't print too much good fat at common because it kinda destroys the draft environment within the set. unless they printed some strong fatties in a set like gatecrash where it's so fast that they could get away with it (which tbh they probably should've done).
I'd like that, it has neat synergy with all the "enters the battlefield" effects in the cube. Plus you can make a ton of Nucklavees, Archaeomancers, and Mnemonic Walls.
Speaking of Green fatties in the standard thread got me thinking about potential downshifts;
Arashi, the Sky Asunder - Maybe slightly too good for peasant? It's savage against flying heavy decks, but even then you have to take turns off swinging with it. There are uncommon legends, but it does have that going against it. The flavour is a pretty hard knock against seeing a reprint at all. Dirtcowl Wurm - Looks perfectly placed for an uncommon. Not sure how playable it is given it will suck in the late game, but if it comes down early could be ok. Genesis - Probably too strong an engine? Gurzigost - I'd assume too hard to make work in cube even if it was downshifted? Heartwood Giant - I had no idea this card existed. And it would never get downshifted or reprinted for flavour reasons. And probably too powerful at anything but rare. But it's a rad card. Hystrodon - Flip up as soon as turn 3 with some acceleration too strong? Would be a flavoursome add to greens card draw. But I would think not likely to see a reprint, let alone downshift. Nemata, Grove Guardian - Would this be slow enough now for uncommon? After you cast it, it is going to take you 2 more turns just to make 4 Saprolings. Probably more of a control finisher as opposed to a fattie. Nut Collector - I suspect it isn't good enough for Peasant Cube anyway, but maybe? Thorn Elemental - I see Rhox mentioned on this page, but I think the combination of getting damage through plus regeneration would be a tad too oppressive against non-black decks. But this guy I could get behind at uncommon.
Surprisingly (or maybe not) not a lot of cards that fit the Pelakka Wurm mold of having some upside in the face of removal, at least that I think could be reprinted.

Pretty all around excited for the rarity shifts in VM.
EDIT: Man, I'd play that Disintegrate if it could be foil and that Chittering Rats regardless.

I'm also hungering for a green 6-drop. Anybody have a 6-drop green rare in mind that would be good bumped down to uncommon?

I second Thorn Elemental. The 7th edition artwork is just so good.
