Symmetrical cards are made to be broken. Are there enough bombs for a blue based deck that are worth letting your opponent tutor at the same time? Maybe a big Simic ramp deck where you can snag a resilient fatty? Even if this dude isn't good enough now, I could envision a time in the future where there are enough bombs or combos to make the downside worthwhile.

I don't think there's any way to be certain that this guy will be better for you than them. You search up fatty, they get their staggershock. Um, hm. Awkward.

I'd always want to tutor for the game winning spell (like a Fireball) or an answer that gets value (like Forbid or Control Magic). If you have enough big spells in your deck or ways to deal with what they tutor up I could see it being good.

I'd say overall it is narrow but powerful.

I can already see it - Noble Benefactor to the yard> trigger on the stack > Flash Aven mindcensor > gutted. oh magical Christmas land.

The odds of having a combo deck where your combo is worth *that much* more than the best card in your opponent's deck... I mean it's possible...
What also sucks is that the most likely way for this to trigger "bloacking" involves your opponent's turn and grounded attackers.

Also, I don't think that there are any colorless/blue sac engines that people run commonly. Unless people really are pushing and are running culling dais.

Very few instances allow me to think it's a good idea to pay 3 mana to two-for-one myself later...

I was talking about how you spend the benefactor and give your opponent a card (total 2 cards) to get 1 card.
2 for 1.
