You can also look into adding Tainted Pact - it does a notably different thing, but could fill the same hole in the same way to let you search for a specific thing without requiring the addition of 15 cards to support it.

Tainted Pact is one of those cards that I like in Constructed EDH when you really want to find a combo piece AND you aren't so dependent on Basic Lands. But for the Cube I have really pushed out as many tutors as I can and have also worked to get rid of every insta win combo I could find. I just worry Taint Pact doesn't work right in this collection of cards.

I added more cards than I cut but I'm still trying to figure out how I had 600 even with 2 white Akromas
I had my first day off in 8 days, sat down, and looked at what non-permanents weren't doing well. Things like Aether Flash just stopped so many games that it needed to take a break for a while. The Azorius spells were fine but narrow enough that other single colors were already doing it. And I want to add more legends in 2 color because I think I might pull all the 3 color guys just to see what happens if instead of 2-3 color we start seeing 1-2 color decks
For the most part the new cards performed well - Impact Tremors, GAIIV, and Fruitcake Elemental (With a Warhammer is really good it turns out) all won games. But, I don't know how meaningful that is when of the 7 people we had show up there was 2 Mardu, a Jund, and a Grixis* deck all pulling from RB. I have no idea why since most of the time I can't get people to care about RB. Weird night for sure.

Not sure what to say about low cmc creatures in edh cube's red, except I'm optimistic that over the next few years, I think wizards will probably release enough interesting stuff to plug this hole.
These are the low cmc red dudes that I'm using, that aren't in your cube.....
I keep looking over all those and feel like there is a reason I don't want most of those. I can't figure out what it is exactly, but they all seem amazing in 1-v-1 and sort of lackluster against things that RWG and even U have in those early slots. I'll mull it over though.
- Lurking Predators - Creature density was hard to make this thing look amazing.
+ The Great Aurora - You people all seem to think this is an amazing card, so let's give it a whirl.
- Descent of the Dragons - In theory it's a potential bomb. In practice nobody played it.
+ Thundermaw Hellkite - Looking for good aggressive red creatures. This guy is.
- Squee, Goblin Nabob - A holdout from my Stax-ahloic days. He's good and all, but just doesn't have the impact that another creature might.
+ Pia and Kiran Nalaar - Seems good. Siege Gang like army-in-a-can with evasion and combos well with a lot of red stuff.
- Nighthowler - Rarely made the cut. Never once saw it hit the table.
+ Kothophed, Soul Hoarder - No idea. But he seems like he could be a beating.
- Windborn Muse - I love these effects in regular 100 card EDH. But in this Cube things get way too slow and she's not helping.
+ Relic Seeker - I suspect this card is a total piece of trash. But in this Cube things get way too slow and she might help.
I haven't looked for it myself, but there probably has to be a good thread in the edh forums on red's optimal role as a primary or secondary color in edh.
Folks in our edh-cube discussion group here seem mostly adverse to running just beat sticks in their cubes, maybe to the detriment of solid curve fillers in their cubes. My point in bringing this up is to maybe get at what folks think is or isn't the role of low cmc red in their cube: should red assist in getting an early toehold against the opponents in the damage race (goblin guide)? Pure tribal or marginal utility support? Should we just be getting off of low cmc red dudes in favor of more cheap red spells?

Yeah, I have no idea what red's role is supposed to be with regards to creatures. Enchantments and sorceries I gotcha covered, but the creatures .... no idea.
IIRC, you used to have the card death match in your cube. Was that card any good? Too disruptive to the pace of games? Too group huggy?

Way too good. There were so many creatures coming and going that it basically meant that nothing would stick around. Elspeth, Sun's Champion goes up and kills Avacyn....
It basically meant that if I wanted to have creatures out it'd kill all the creatures, so it got cut for being way too good and way too hard to break the symmetry. The caster lost just as bad as the other people.
I'm not sure if this is still in your cube, but did you get any decent test results out of plaguebearer? I know it's a pretty marginal card, but the thought of mowing down heaps of tokens for just B has stayed my hand in cutting it. Right now though, I'm faced with cutting him for essence depleter or bearer of silence.

You should try it out though just to see what happens, but I just couldn't keep it in when my list shifted away from 4 hour games.

Actually, I was thinking of suggesting it to a friend that runs a normal cube. I'm working on a black archetype proposal including death match, gravecrawler, bloodghast, bloodsoaked champion, etc + lots of life drain effects like profane command, corrupt, consume spirit, and so on.
