I've been running this cube with my friends for well over a year now. I just bought a ton of sleeves one day and threw it together (which is why the number of cards in the cube is a bit random). I've slowly been tweaking it ever since. I don't really want to create proxies (although you guys make some really pretty ones), so my cube is unpowered.
I usually draft this with 4-5 of my friends. We all prefer slower, multicolor, midrange decks and are fairly timmy at heart. Hence there is a lot of high cost and multicolor spells. I tried to put at least one massively expensive card in each color, and to my knowledge all of them have been cast. Every color is drafted about evenly at that size and they all seem fairly balanced. If we get a full 8-man pod it isn't quite as balanced as someone usually ends up with a horrifying R/W aggro deck that cleans house. We also pack wars with this a fair amount.
"Skill Kill cards" are a cycle of 6 really bad cards that I added for personal amusement. The goal is to use these to strike the killing blow on your opponent for brownie points. They have been super fun, as sometimes what would have been a one-sided, dull game of magic turns into a in-depth strategic game of doing everything in one's power to not die to said card. Amusing plays off the top of my head, Tinker -> Doom Cannon with Myr Battlesphere on the field. Pthisis targeting Worldspine Wurm. I believe every one of them has killed someone, maybe with the exception of Chaos Harlequin.
At one point I had all the swords of x&y, but everyone found them to be unenjoyable to play against. These and pristine angel have been removed for this reason. No other cards have been removed for power reasons.
I'm also fairly cheap, so I haven't gotten around to picking up the second half of the shocklands. I'm also looking around for a mono-black utility land to complete my minicycle. Leaning towards Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth but I haven't been able to trade for one.
So I've been drafting this cube for well over 4 years now with a few of my good friends. Usually only 2-4 of us drafting at once, so we do all those weird square drafing and 9 packs of 15 (pick 1 burn 2). I'm not sure exactly what all their exact names are. It's fascinating for me to look back and see which cards are still sticking around and which I've cut long ago.
My design goal is still the same. I want a slower draft format where you don't just immediately die if you stumble on your curve, where you can safely play maybe one 7 drop in your deck even if you're not dedicated ramp. As such my aggro deck are much less supported than in most cubes. Not completely non-existent (people still get smashed by boros aggro every now and again) but not extremely strong either. I've decided to limit every color except red to 3 planeswalkers.
The current "skill kill" cards are Aetherflux Reservoir, rocket-powered turbo slug, triskaidekaphobia and Laboratory Maniac. Aetherflux I just added. But the other three have all won games. Furthermore, triskaidekaphobia turned out to be legitimately a good card on its own right (which I wasn't expecting). I don't have a good skill kill card for white anymore. The last one was barren glory which was cut after I managed to win with it because everyone found it boring to attempt.
I've also decided to limit every color to 3-4 planeswalkers, except for red because I can.
I would rank the colors in my cube in the following order B > U > R > G > W
The best decks are Mono-B, Grixis Control, and Boros Aggro.
My favorite decks are first pick Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, second pick baneslayer angel into 4-color (not green control) with desolation angel somewhere along the way and "find a way to cast Emrakul". I would actually classify "find a way to cast Emrakul" as a tier 1.5 deck. Either Emrakul will do, neither ever gets passed to me anymore. T_T
Although, I'm happy to say you can do well with any mono-colored deck or basically any color combination. Mono-W being the exception, it's just kinda real bad.
BBBBB
Basically black's color identity is currently "everything is a 2-for-1 and your cards are all basically the best of their type, but you better believe every casting cost is going to have BB in it so you can't splash for other sweet stuff easily". As a result mono-black was drafted enough that I just started adding a lot of cards just for mono-black drafters.
Outside of mono-black control, I've also tried to support re-animation. Though usually that deck ends up being U/B to gain access to mystical tutor and all of U's 2-drop looters.
I've also tried to throw in a few token produces to make Braids, Cabal Minion work-able. Although, I really need to get my hands on a smoke-stack for that too.
Black is often paired with U/R in grixis control (often for Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker) and W for even more efficient removal.
RRRRR
Red is a color I struggled with for quite a while. My friends never drafted aggro so I slowly cut all the usual aggro 1 and 2 drops. Then, they complained that there was no aggro support. Aggro has eventually settled into a comfy place where your opponents plays ETB-tapped lands and while they do that you curve Hanweir Garrison into hellrider and they die quickly. No real 1 drops needed. Outside of aggro I decided settled on R's identity being "combo" and "chandra". That is to say I proceed to put every chandra I get into red and that's kind of its identity as a mid-range super friends color. This being helped greatly in that Chandra, Flamecaller is probably one of the top 5 cards in the cube.
GGGGG
Green has good ramp stuff? I haven't really thought about it more in depth than that really. Splash for a color with removal then smash people with Avenger of Zendikar. It works, people like it, moving on.
Green is kinda weakened by the fact there is so much artifact ramp, but its never really been in a bad place so it gets minimal thought from me I suppose.
UUUUU
Blue is really strong right now. Blue is in a great place being able to build a very controlling deck with card draw and removal. It can also go big mana/combo artifacts with high tide and tinker/Tolarian Academy. It also can go fairly aggressive with lower drop tempo creatures and splashing another color like red/white. I'm happiest with the color balance/variety of blue decks in my cube.
WWWWW
White is currently struggling. It's a really good splash color for basically every other color but rarely is it the main color. I think a large reason for this is because wrath of god just isn't nearly as good as it was 4 years ago. The planewalker density has gone up quite a bit and many creatures end the game single-handedly making wrath just not super mama-efficient and wraths are one of the main things that mono-white excels at. I've been trying to support an angel sub-theme but bruna, the fading light is basically the only card that draws people to that. I guess I could cut Akroma, angel of wrath and avacyn, angel of hope but I just really like big dumb angels.
I also tried to support a blink sub-theme for a while but no one really ever tried drafting around it either. So currently white just is kind of sitting around being a good supporting color, but without a great reason to start it outside of Gideon jura

My Cube Unpowered
My Peasant-ish/Tribal-ish Cube
So I've been drafting this cube for well over 4 years now with a few of my good friends. Usually only 2-4 of us drafting at once, so we do all those weird square drafing and 9 packs of 15 (pick 1 burn 2). I'm not sure exactly what all their exact names are. It's fascinating for me to look back and see which cards are still sticking around and which I've cut long ago.
My design goal is still the same. I want a slower draft format where you don't just immediately die if you stumble on your curve, where you can safely play maybe one 7 drop in your deck even if you're not dedicated ramp. As such my aggro deck are much less supported than in most cubes. Not completely non-existent (people still get smashed by boros aggro every now and again) but not extremely strong either. I've decided to limit every color except red to 3 planeswalkers.
Cards that have been cut because of power reasons/annoyance are the following sol ring, recurring nightmare, sword of fire and ice (the cycle) and arcane savant.
The current "skill kill" cards are Aetherflux Reservoir, rocket-powered turbo slug, triskaidekaphobia and Laboratory Maniac. Aetherflux I just added. But the other three have all won games. Furthermore, triskaidekaphobia turned out to be legitimately a good card on its own right (which I wasn't expecting). I don't have a good skill kill card for white anymore. The last one was barren glory which was cut after I managed to win with it because everyone found it boring to attempt.
I've also decided to limit every color to 3-4 planeswalkers, except for red because I can.
I would rank the colors in my cube in the following order
B > U > R > G > W
The best decks are Mono-B, Grixis Control, and Boros Aggro.
My favorite decks are first pick Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, second pick baneslayer angel into 4-color (not green control) with desolation angel somewhere along the way and "find a way to cast Emrakul". I would actually classify "find a way to cast Emrakul" as a tier 1.5 deck. Either Emrakul will do, neither ever gets passed to me anymore. T_T
Although, I'm happy to say you can do well with any mono-colored deck or basically any color combination. Mono-W being the exception, it's just kinda real bad.
BBBBB
Basically black's color identity is currently "everything is a 2-for-1 and your cards are all basically the best of their type, but you better believe every casting cost is going to have BB in it so you can't splash for other sweet stuff easily". As a result mono-black was drafted enough that I just started adding a lot of cards just for mono-black drafters.
Outside of mono-black control, I've also tried to support re-animation. Though usually that deck ends up being U/B to gain access to mystical tutor and all of U's 2-drop looters.
I've also tried to throw in a few token produces to make Braids, Cabal Minion work-able. Although, I really need to get my hands on a smoke-stack for that too.
Black is often paired with U/R in grixis control (often for Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker) and W for even more efficient removal.
RRRRR
Red is a color I struggled with for quite a while. My friends never drafted aggro so I slowly cut all the usual aggro 1 and 2 drops. Then, they complained that there was no aggro support. Aggro has eventually settled into a comfy place where your opponents plays ETB-tapped lands and while they do that you curve Hanweir Garrison into hellrider and they die quickly. No real 1 drops needed. Outside of aggro I decided settled on R's identity being "combo" and "chandra". That is to say I proceed to put every chandra I get into red and that's kind of its identity as a mid-range super friends color. This being helped greatly in that Chandra, Flamecaller is probably one of the top 5 cards in the cube.
"Combo"-wise I've tried to support a token subtheme with Purphoros, God of the Forge that bleeds into other colors (Braids, Cabal Minion/Opposition). There's also Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and a few other things of that sort. This is backed up with some quality removal and Cathartic Reunion/Faithless looting being exceptionally good at digging. Seriously can I have like 3 functional reprints of Cathartic Reunion?
GGGGG
Green has good ramp stuff? I haven't really thought about it more in depth than that really. Splash for a color with removal then smash people with Avenger of Zendikar. It works, people like it, moving on.
Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary almost single-highhandedly makes Mono-G a thing.
Also, I really like drafting Birthing Pod decks.
Green is kinda weakened by the fact there is so much artifact ramp, but its never really been in a bad place so it gets minimal thought from me I suppose.
UUUUU
Blue is really strong right now. Blue is in a great place being able to build a very controlling deck with card draw and removal. It can also go big mana/combo artifacts with high tide and tinker/Tolarian Academy. It also can go fairly aggressive with lower drop tempo creatures and splashing another color like red/white. I'm happiest with the color balance/variety of blue decks in my cube.
WWWWW
White is currently struggling. It's a really good splash color for basically every other color but rarely is it the main color. I think a large reason for this is because wrath of god just isn't nearly as good as it was 4 years ago. The planewalker density has gone up quite a bit and many creatures end the game single-handedly making wrath just not super mama-efficient and wraths are one of the main things that mono-white excels at. I've been trying to support an angel sub-theme but bruna, the fading light is basically the only card that draws people to that. I guess I could cut Akroma, angel of wrath and avacyn, angel of hope but I just really like big dumb angels.
I also tried to support a blink sub-theme for a while but no one really ever tried drafting around it either. So currently white just is kind of sitting around being a good supporting color, but without a great reason to start it outside of Gideon jura
