I was inspired by Wtwlf's make a pick series he has going on in his thread, and usually before cubes, or if we're waiting on someone, we make a random pack and we discuss what we would pick. And now I want to see what you guys would with my cube as well. Thanks wtwlf for the amazing idea! It really helps new players understand card evaluation.
Make your top 3 picks from this pack as if it was your P1P1 choice. A brief description of why the card is your P1P1 choice will be very beneficial for discussion and for those folks using this as a draft tool for learning!
For those that can't see the picture above, or need oracle text, the pack contains the following cards:
I'm going to be taking the results from this thread and discuss it with my normal cubing buddies and see how differing or similar opinions are giong to be, so I would really appreciate it if you guys participated [/QUOTE]

This. It's a great idea and maybe once I can get a hold of a camera I will do the same with my cube. It's pretty important to have a general knowledge on what the cube contains, how much of it is being drafted/how many players are drafting, etc... but I guess that's making it more complicated than it should be... (excuse the rant)
Anywho, here are my picks:
1. Time Spiral - Great control card. Also going this route you could expect a good wheel in arcane denial, innocent blood, or oona. It's too bad that Eternal Witness is in the same pack though, cuz for sure that's not coming back around.
2. Sword of War and Peace - Awesome protections and it's a fraking sword!!
3. Eternal Witness - She's so dreamy... and she'd make the final 23 cards in any deck I make with green in it.
1. Sword of War and Peace: Swords are good 1st picks. While there are good cards in this pack, nothing tempts me away from the sword.
2. Time Spiral: Powerful control card. If all goes well, Arcane Denial will wheel.
3. Eternal Witness: Probably green's best card and so easy to abuse.

I agree, with Cursed Scroll getting an Honorable Mention.
Also moved phyrexian cards to their respective colors, except for Spined Thopter, that thing will not be played in blue often enough
I cut the Bouncelands because they didn't really see that much play after I added them in again, even the blue ones were going last for some reason. I could attribute that to my playgroup never having played back then. But I also found that they weren't really needed either. Adding more cards to the colors was an easy choice. This also gave me some room to add some fringe cards back, and I like that the list is sort of loose again since now testing cards will be easier and in future updates I will have easy cuts
Psychatog has been underperforming for a while now. Though I could see this swap reversed.
Lorescale for Edric was just an upgrade, lorescale was fun, but not that good.
Bonehoard has not been cutting it either, and my playgroup suggested that it gets swapped for Karn now that I have one. I feel like lotus petal would be a better cut?

i would totally pick sword of war and peace first. second choice would be figure of destiny, and third would be plague sliver, i love some suicide black

The validity of my argument is directly proportional to the number of times I repeat it.
I like all the change but the removal of Psychatog. Solid change all in all.
Psychatog was a card that nobody in my playgroup likes, and there really is no nostalgia value out of it since most of my playgroup started after his time.

I also want to start solomon drafting with some buddies since I find it fun, and nobody has done a soloman you make the pick yet, so we'll see how this goes! Rules of solomon drafting can be found Here
So, in the image below assume these are the first cards flipped over in the solomon draft, and it's your up to split first, how would you split them?
If you can't see or read the images, here they are in text form:
MrD, if you want comments on changes, don't put them in the same post as an interesting draft pick!
Adding Worldly Tutor is great. As creatures improve that card is just getting better and better for me.
I don't like the loss of Thieving Magpie: that card is still very solid in my 500 card cube, and I think will get you more cards on average than Compulsive Research.
That solomon pick is interesting. In the piles you set out I would go with the Jace pack.
I think I'd see if I could get my opponent to draft blue, and build an aggressive R/B deck to attack his hand and mana base. Jace + Ice Storm + Colonnade vs Everything Else.

Yeah, but I didn't want to triple post my thread
I've always loved worldly tutor, and berserk just hasn't been pulling it's weight lately, it's always been one of those cards that give interesting moments, but not that strong. I was thinking about making that switch back actually with the magpie, the update was just what I could scavenge from looking at the old list vs new list, so it didn't happen all at once, I'll swap the magpie in and see if anyone misses the research!
Someone has included Mike in his top 20 list of white cards and while I value him lower, he has won me most games where I untapped with him in my cube.
Teferi's moat was the only card I had in my on deck binder to include for U/W, and while I won't include geist, I could see plumeveil or the guildmage come back in, but what I really want is another good U/W card, it's so lame that it's really only 3 good cards deep.
Mikaeus never really was that spectacular for us, he was mostly cast at X<=3, and wouldn't really ever help that much. None of my playgroup misses him much at all. I never personally drafted him though, maybe I'll seed him in the next few drafts, if people value him that high perhaps I've missed something.

Part of my DKA update as I get more foil versions of cards, but I don't get to play much down here in vegas, so my acquisitions have been quite slow this time around :(.
The change look pretty solid. I like Chaos Warp, but I admit the power level of the card isn't high enough. That said, I'll try to keep the Pegasus. Maybe take Scepter of Dominance out instead?
I would cut the Consecrated Sphinx for the Geists, personally. Having a big 6 mana card which doesn't protect itself or pass the terminiate test and requires your opponent to not remove it to glean value from it seems underwhelming when you compare to the sheer power level of the blue cards in a powered cube.
Inky is a great tinker target, and morphling at least can protect itself and has some versatility.
I'd probably cut Compulsive Research for the Geists, and I'd cut Obstinate Baloth before Blastoderm. The life gain can go from negligable in some match-ups to crushing in others. The problem with that being, that the matches it crushes are vs. aggro and aggro already has a hard time in larger cubes, and midrange is already good vs. aggro. Vs. control, where mid-range needs help, Baloths is really only okay. Blastoderm, however fits nicely into both aggro and midrange supporting both it's weaknesses.

2. Time Spiral: Powerful control card. If all goes well, Arcane Denial will wheel.
3. Eternal Witness: Probably green's best card and so easy to abuse.

I used to run nemesis and I really like him in there, so I'm glad to give him a whirl again :), he's tons of fun always!

Now assume that you're playing against me and I've split the pack into these two piles
Pile A:
Pile B:
Which pile would you take?

"Entrice to draft blue your opponent, and sorry you will be." - Yoda, Jedi Master

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less." -Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass

- Abyssal Persecutor
+ Gravecrawler
- Whipflare
+ Faithless Looting
- Ravenous Baboons
+ Hellrider
- Blastoderm
+ Strangleroot Geist
And after a Sorin and potentially dungeon geists, this concludes my DKA adds now
If I were to add Dungeon Geists in, what would you guys cut? I would be leaning towards Inkwell Leviathan or Morphling myself, but feedback is always nice

Inky is a great tinker target, and morphling at least can protect itself and has some versatility.
