Instant slam dunk include and staple for me at legacy 450. Young pyro/monastery mentor variant in the perfect colors that triggers off artifacts and creates artifacts.

Amazing card. Will find room with a tough cut.

Looks really nice. I might give it a spin.

Currently running Saheeli, Sublime Artificer which is probably what I'd cut for this. I've found that the hybrid mana on Saheeli gets it into a ton of decks though, and it has better overall resiliency. But this is better for the pure spellslinging gameplans, which I'm trying to encourage more of. Might just run both while I test.

I’m not a big fan of young pyromancer in vintage cube but this is much better.

triggering off of non-creature spells makes this strong in artifact decks that can leverage extra artifacts.
karnstructs, urza, academy etc.

I’d guess an extra 30%+ more triggers than young pyromancer in anything but the most pure UR spell decks.

Def testing

Saheeli, Sublime Artificer is a cube-playable card despite costing 3 mana and having an ability that rarely comes up, though the hybrid cost is very nice. Getting the same effect on a 2-cost creature is awesome. Will definitely include, not sure if instead of or alongside Saheeli.

This looks crazy good. Saheeli did a lot of work for its passive ability and this is a preferable body for the effect, IMO. Triggering off all non-creature spells is a major upgrade. This also now fits into artifact decks like a glove.

I'm very excited about this card, but Izzet is so hard to fit cards into. Cutting something for this is going to be tough.

Wow, get in my cube Third Pathromancer! Even though I don’t support an artifacts matter theme, I do support Izzet spells matter which often plays signets, planeswalkers, and enchantments to go with the other spells and payoffs.

This card is perfect, and I can't wait to cube it.

I think this will quickly take the spot of Saheeli, Sublime Artificer in our list.

Card looks great, but all of our Izzet spells are too important. Even if we added another, Expressive Iteration would be the next man up, probably followed by Prismari Command.

Love that it's noncreature and also makes artifact tokens! being a soldier is great too, tho I believe soldier support tends to be a white thing, which makes the UB cost awkward. Def an include for me somewhere.

Does this really just replace Saheeli, Sublime Artificer? This dies to a wider range of removal, is harder to cast, and lacks the extra ability (not that it ever gets used much).

Maybe I'm just overthinking it and I should just take my 33% CMC discount and make the swap.

I haven't been too happy with Young Pyromancer myself for similar reasons.

I'm a bit more interesting in testing this along side Jeskai Ascendancy.

Third Path Iconoclast >>> Saheeli, Sublime Artificer, IMO. These effects are exponentially better when played earlier, not to mention that Saheeli doesn't do anything by herself.

This. This card is insanely better than Saheeli.

Saheeli's 3 CMC has been VERY problematic.
