Sans deathtouch, this is strictly better Grave Titan in a vacuum that you can Natural Order / Green Sun's Zenith for. Grave Titan has always been one of the most consistent cheaty face targets since it's also very castable, and this being in green means it has the benefits of green's natural ability to ramp + Natural Order. Will probably replace Hornet Queen for me.
Mistranslation, doesn't create wolves on attack unless it's transformed
Pseudo Grave Titan on the front half that gains its attack trigger when it transforms. 10 power is still a lot of power upfront for 6 mana.
Deathtouch is a big factor on Hornet Queen, and the tokens on attack is a big factor for Grave Titan.
The daybound/nightbound part is also not great. You have to spend your turn not casting spells to make this great, then your opponent can just have 2 spells prepped to turn it back to day before it gets back to your turn.
Something to keep an eye on, but I'm not convinced.
After discovering the bad translation.. The "nerfed" version is still good, but unsure if it's good enough.
Grave titan is a stone cold staple, a small decrease in power from it is still acceptable. The lack of attack trigger might be too large of one.
It plays well with a lot of green creature based pay off cards, opposition, craterhoof, gaea's cradle etc and is a lot of power for it's CMC.
Maybe will test and won't make a strong prediction either way. At least we know it's ceiling due to how similar it is to grave titan
Correct, it's still considered the same object, so it doesn't re-enter the battlefield when it transforms.
How would you possibly trigger the ETB on the flipside in that case? Is the translation wording just wrong and is meant to say "transforms into..." instead?
The nerfed translation is good not great. 10 power is a lot, and I like the fight ability on the flipside (giving you a sink for your mana if you intentionally pass the turn) ...but I was thinking this was Grave Titan ++ and it's ...not.
I haven't had the chance to get my hands on a copy of this card yet. Did anybody manage to draft it?? I currently run Primeval Titan and Earthshaker Giant as my green 6 drops of choice (our playgroup hates carnage tyrant's hexproof). I reckon this is "stronger" than both giants, but I fear my green top end would become too homogeneous and boring with the inclusion of another army in a can type of threat. Am I overthinking it or are there legitimate concerns with running this card as the premiere green 6 drop (excluding the dyno)?
I haven't managed to get a hold of a copy of this card yet, but have planned to axe Primeval Titan. Huntmaster doesn't have trample, which is a little awkward, but I have always been unexcited about a 6-drop that gets more lands, and hope that this card will live up to my expectations.
The problem is that the 2/2 wolves don’t fight that well, and the 2GG activation doesn’t curve well off of a 6 drop either. So the “pass, activate, hope opp can’t double spell so you can get more wolves” mode is very underwhelming.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.

How often will it reliably get flipped in a green deck though?
May be worth testing but I really like all my 6+ drops at 540. The weakest is probably Woodfall Primus but giving that up for this is tough.

The etb doesn't trigger when it transforms right?
