Any interest in this?
I could imagine formats where it really shines and others where it's meh.
Returning a permanent for W is almost worth a card in itself (protecting permanants from removal, returning creatures like snapcaster mage/eternal witness)
and in agressive decks a 1W 3/1 is close to playable.
I think I like it in midrange decks with good blink targets and some good equipment such that the body doesn't become dead if played on turn 6.
I really like this guy. I'm replacing my Kor Skyfisher with Charming Prince, but the Prince doesn't cover all the same ground; it would really be nice to have a way to hit non-creatures. And, just even having more ways to respond at instant speed is something I've been wanting in my cube in white for a while, but viable options are so few.
Keep in mind this guy is capable of giving you that cute Oblivion Ring interaction too.
I don't know if I can manage it, but I genuinely would like to find room.
Eh, I'm not a big fan of standalone blink / self-bounce effects. This being a Blade of the Sixth Pride on top of that is better than nothing, but I think this is pretty low impact in any deck that would want either a defensive bounce or an aggressive 2-cmc beater.
I really like this card, but I think in order to cube it, I need to reorient more of my list. With Charming Prince, this, Kor Skyfisher, and FlickerWisp, it could be easier to facilitate a UW flicker archetype without actually playing parasitic cards (e.g. Momentary Blink). I'd have to toy with the structure of it, but I'm all for small cube changes that enable a larger diversity of archetypes. An example for this is, if I choose to add Prince, Skyfisher, and this, I would probably swap some one-drop with Legion's Landing. This would help support a new midrange-y Wx deck, while also adding texture to W aggro without removing existing archetypes.
Anyways, I'm going to think about how/if I want to do that, but it's pretty cool!

Always thought blink was a cool mechanic but the payoff isn’t quite there now a days.
Blade splicer probably the most efficient? But there aren’t many more and too many decks go over the top of that type of value
Would probably need a card like avalanche riders without echo so you can successively disrupt with each additional blink... reclamation sage works a bit like that against artifact decks.
Encourage exploration though. Ephemerate is a card that went under the radar in modern horizons spoiler that seems incredible in a etb value deck , but that is a parasitic card style that you were looking to avoid.
Given it’s mana effeciency I think it’s much better than momentary blink. Can also go infinite with time walk and witness!

I think I'd agree with this. Blink didn't really become an archetype here until Unstable was released. Drawing 2 more cards off Mulldrifter, or getting an extra bounce with Man-o'-War are nice interactions you can include in WUx decks since those cards and Restoration Angel are already good by themselves, but I don't feel like those interactions alone are worth going deep into blink. I think Blink needs a target that wins the game when it triggers 2 or 3 times to compete with the higher tier archetypes, and if Un cards aren't included, I don't think there's been one printed yet.
That said, I'm not too interested in Shepard of the Flock, either. After including Clocknapper and pushing blink, I had been wanting more flicker effects, but now we just got Soulherder and Charming Prince, so now a card like this that I may have considered a few months ago, doesn't seem needed anymore.
I am a big fan of Kor Skyfisher but I don't think this is quite as good. The options are kinda fighting one another. The Blade of the Sixth Pride just wants to come down whenever it's convenient to cast a 2-drop, and the Rescue wants to wait for either a good interaction or to respond to removal. As a later topdeck, you're likely to get full value, but early you usually aren't, in which case it is rather lackluster.
It's one of the better Blade of the Sixth Pride variants though.

I think the idea is Usher to Safety trades with a removal spell, then Shepard of the Flock trades with an X/3. You should net mana advantage on both halves, and +1 card advantage overall. I think it'll be great in Throne of Eldraine limited and may even work in standard, but don't think it translates as well into cube.

Not sure yet if testing
