A slightly overcosted burn spell that draws you an undercosted threat that also punishes spot removal is pretty solid. I wish it had some combat ability, but I'm just greedy like that.
Quite interesting. Dunno what to take out, as this is not necessarily better than the 2cc burn spells nor the 3cc creatures.
Not in a hurry to get this, but will test if I get hold of the card.
This set is killing me. So much love for cube (and artifact cube)
Flametongue Kavu in two parts. The 2 punishing damage is what puts it over the top for me since I can see him just being run out on T3 against slower decks. I'll test him out for sure.
I've always wanted an updated Fire Imp that can hit any target or have bigger stats, but this fits the bill quite nicely. What I like most about this card is that it finally gives red an answer to a blocking True-Name Nemesis.

Card is very interesting. I like this better than Magma Jet of firebolt. And I think many people are still playing those.
I will be amazed if this isn't an instant staple. If these adventure cards were written as a flashback cards it would be more obvious. I am pleased this is a 4 power 3 drop, yes I would love trample but I was expecting "can't attack or block alone" . Really excited.

I assume you mean for the first part of the instant, as TNN would have protection from player, so it couldn't be targeted.
Outside of that, the card seems good, as in a way, it's a psuedo-card draw for Red, which has been it's thing for a while now.
The real question becomes wether people start slotting in adventure cards as spells, or as creatures. I think that's going to be an interesting facet of how people organize their cubes now.
Funny how yesterday I was thinking of cutting a 3-drop for Searing Spear, and a while later this, a 2-mana burn spell that's ALSO a 3-drop creature, was spoiled. I guess I have to give it a try.
BTW the title has the name of the card wrong, it's "Bonecrusher Giant" not "Stomping Giant".
I'm evaluating this is a 2 mana instant, so I'll be cutting Searing blood instead of a creature. I think it fills a similar role that searing blood/blaze do, that it can deal 2 to a creature and simultaneously pressure the opponents life total.
I really like this guy! I guess whether I consider it 2 or 3 mana will depend on the deck; although I think generally aggro will just call it a 3-drop with some burn tacked on, more controlling decks will probably prioritize Adventure mode. I think I'll see the former more often, but like some of the folks above, I'm tempted to maybe swap out Magma Jet for him rather than a 3cc creature.

Anything that gives Cube designers flexibility is a good thing IMHO. Something like Murderous Rider can safely slip into a spell slot but Bonecrusher Giant might be more likely to take a creature spot since it's that half that makes the card playable. There's no "right" answer but like I said, the flexibility is nice.

I was thinking that other red burn spells are much more similar to this card than any of the other 3 drop creatures whereas most of the burn spells are much more interchangable, sure some are better than others, but most of the decks playing burn spells usually jam as many as they can, whereas the creatures each play a more distinct role. Thus changing this out for a burn spell feels like a better fit for me since losing one burn spell for this won't be missed as much.
Card Seems like a great card. Red 3's are pretty packed, but I think I will upgrade Magmajet to this, I think the 4/3 creature is better than Scry 2,

Not the most efficient card in the world, but lots of value baked into it while maintaining aggressive pressure.

Draft the "'What Is This Nonsense?'" casual cube.
It's been a theme this spoiler season where I've been reading these cards, expecting to see a drawback, and then realizing it's all upside.
