You're pretty much "forced" to -3 it when it comes down, so the statistics of actually getting two critters matters. The ultimate might as well not be on the card since you're just drawing two critters, playing them the next two turns, and probably killing the opponent or reloading that way. The card is good, but more saga-like than most planeswalkers. Both riot "modes" are solid, though. It's not an awful aggro curve topper or a bad mid-range support card. Is it better than Arlinn's flexibility, Sarkhan's threaten, or Xenagos's ramp? It's the only of the three that draws cards (pre-ultimate), but also the only one that asks you to spend mana.
Anyone have a log of RG cube decks to suggest a reasonable average creature count from? If you're actually drawing 2x critters more than 50% of the time, it's more interesting. My guess is that it's just a Harmonize (draws 1.5 critters and a "land").
I strongly prefer Sarkhan Vohl to this PW. His +1 has more of an immediate impact, his - ability is terrifying, and his ultimate is more attainable and scarier. This is totally a fine PW but it doesn't feel spicy enough.
I like this card, but don't like that it costs 2RG and therefore won't be playing him. Can't justify playing him over Sarkhan, and have no interest in running 2 planeswalkers at the exact same mana cost.
I think the card is good, but I'm not convinced it's better than the other 2GR walkers. (It might be, but I'm unsure)
It doesn't have the same immediate board impact that either planeswalker has, and it can't pressure, or ramp as aggressively as xenagos.
Sarkhan Vol demands an answer quicker than domri, but Domri can guarantee some value if an answer is likely coming.
Sarkhan is clearly better in a deck with an agressive bent. He's best as a curve topper/bridger in an agressive start
, whereas Domri is better suited for decks trying to cast 6+ CMC creatures.
I find my GR cube decks are much more ramp oriented.. so even if Sarkhan is more powerful (which I think he is), Domri might fill the roll my cube needs more?
Domri's Ramp can end up being very relevant depending on the deck that it goes in... and there's no shortage of 5+ CMC RG creatures that would like Riot. 3RR Infero Titan with Haste? yes please.
His ultimate is very good and is achievable in 4 turns.. It's no Sarkhan ultimate, but it's better than most walkers.
His high loyalty makes him better on the backfoot than most of the other RG walkers, especially against pesky flyers or burn spells. This is a pretty big deal imo. Xenagos' fragility is ultimately what led me to cut him.
It's possible he's the best 2RG walker suited for cubes, but if he is, it's by a small margin.. and there's a very real chance he isn't.
I'll test, cause why not, but not expecting anything special.
Just pick out of a hat between the 2RG planeswalkers. They're all playable, but who wants more than one? Arlinn Kord is the one I happen to have, so that's the one I'll happen to keep.
I'm partial to Xenagos in this slot right now. Four mana to maybe whiff of grabbing 1-2 creatures off the top of my library and hope they can't kill a 2-loyalty PW isn't really where I want to be T4 in most Gruul matches.
Good but not great; I'm not inclined to cube with it. I don't think it's better enough from the glut of other good 4cc options that has to offer to play it over something like Sarkhan, Xenagos or Huntmaster ...3 cards that are likely better that I already don't run.
I really want to like this. It more or less demands you be the beatdown, which might make it too narrow, but if you’re not pressuring Domri it will find a way to ruin your day. I have dreams of curving this directly into a hasty titan or Kalonian Hydra. It fills a similar but opposite role to Sarkhan Vol, since this is fantastic on an empty board but doesn’t to much to improve your existing creatures. It doesn’t really have great pedigree though... the card unfortunately reminds me quite a bit of Kiora, Master of the Depths aka one of the most disappointing misses in recent memory for me. I think this card is an improvement in several important ways, but the comp is not encouraging.
High loyalty, ramps, draws cards. Thoughts?

This guy seems easily worse than Xenagos, and I don't think I want 2 4cmc PWs in the same guild. Easy pass for me.
This set has been kind of a lot of misses so far.
