Doom Whisperer! AH! I want a slot in my cube for a no-nonsense game winner in aggressive, interactive black decks. Popping off 8 life sounds like a decision that could change the course of a game in a single turn. CUBE.

Legion Warboss is powerful enough, but I don't want this slot to be repetitive. It's a little too self-centric to exemplify mentor for cube, which is sad. But card's dope.

Utility Lands: Here
Pelt Collector ---> Untamed Kavu or Wolfbitten Captive. Kavu plays much better than Captive in my experience but I think my cube could use another good 1 drop so Kavu will probably have to go.
Nullhide Ferox ---> Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma. I was pretty vocal in my support for Goreclaw, but the deck he's best in doesn't come together all that much and he's super fragile. Not 100% sold on Ferox but I have a Ripjaw Raptor in the batting circle that is itching for another go if it doesn't work out.
Assassin's Trophy ---> Deathrite Shaman. My Golgari section will be Deed, Pulse, Trophy, and Meren. I'm tempted to cut Deed but I haven't made up my mind yet. Deep guild is deep!
Knight of Autumn ---> Qasali Pridemage. Easy swap IMHO. My Selesnya section will be Knight, Finks, Voice of Resurgence, and Ajani Unyielding.
Tajic, Legion's Edge OR Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice ---> Lightning Helix. A very small part of me is tempted to cut Boros Charm too and run both of these sweet new creatures, but I doubt I'll go there. The arguments in favor of Tajic over Aurelia have been very persuasive and I'm leaning towards him.
GREAT set! I hope Ravnica Alliances gives us just as many multicolored goodies!
I could just as easily cut War-Name Aspirant; Geopede just feels bad for cheap red aggro decks running short on lands, and tends to be outclassed in its best deck, midrange Gruul. Ultimately I'd like to upgrade both of them. Maybe I'll bring back Guttersnipe, since Izzet whiffed so badly for cube in this set.
Rather than sub out E1 or Prowler, this seems like a decent time to bring down my green CMC. Also I'm bitter I didn't buy the promo Vengevine when it was cheap, and now it is not cheap.
I seem to be the only one here high on Lazav. I'm gonna run him over Infiltrator for a while, see if he sticks. He does a lot of things that Dimir wants in the early game, and even if he's not getting ETB effects when copying something, he's also not stopping you from reanimating that same target with a different card later.
I think Tajic will be a solid performer, though perhaps not a superstar, given how many other threats start out at three power now. Some games, he's just going to be a bad Ahn-Crop Crasher. Still, I'll give him a spin over the Reckoner and its awkward casting cost.
Yes, Aurelia is weaker than some of the other four-drops available in white and red, but it's got the right stats to see cube play, and gives another option for Boros to play as a midrange value pile rather than an all-in aggro guild only. If there's a shaky addition here, she might be it (which sounds crazy when looking at her stats). Still, Assemble the Legion has always been the odd Boros card that almost no Boros deck actually wants; it would only see play when splashed into a slower color combination.
Overall a decent set for cube, though it irks me to have to leave out strong cards in power guilds like Dimir and Selesnya while watching Izzet, one of the weaker guilds, get nothing worth considering. I'll keep an eye on Mission Briefing and Kraul Harpoonist, maybe Nullhide Ferrox.
Legion Warboss- I don’t know if I want a third Rabblemaster, or if this is better than Rabblemaster. Will wait this out.
Goblin Cratermaker - will probably remove one of the boring 3/2s I still have.
Pelt Collector - Experiment 2 but no regeneration (which matters). Not too excited but good for green aggro. I feel like I have to decide if I want more green aggro dudes or simply focus on ramp on turn 1.
Assassin’s Trophy - Powerful and flexible, but kinda boring. Not sure what to take out though.
Artifact cube: Chamber Sentry - Sunburst, Artifact and +1/+1 counter interaction, removal, recursion, flex curve. Very happy to add this! I am replacing a 3 drop, don’t know yet though.
Not testing, but keeping an eye on (in aproximate order of interest):
Lazav the multifarious
Connive//Concoct
Discovery//Dispersal
Conclave Tribunal
Chemister's Insight
Pet collector
Find//Finally
Dream eater
Thief of Sanity
Assassin's Trophy for Darigaaz Reincarnated
Legion Warboss for Rampaging Ferocidon
Goblin Cratermaker for Manic Vandal
Knight of Autumn for Gisela, the Broken Blade
Testing:
Mission Briefing for Dragonlord Ojutai
Doom Whisperer for Isareth the Awakener
Trostani Discordant for Dictate of Heliod
(Don't make this about my cuts)
Excited for the top 4 cards and curious how the testing cards play out.
Blue: I did want to test Dream Eater, but since I'm fiddling with rebalancing shard/wedge cards instead of cheating on off-color activations, I don't have a testing slot identified. I've been trying to find a blue 6-drop that I can use to replace Consecrated Sphinx, which I find is one of the least fun cards in the cube, but this definitely isn't it.
At the multicolored section I’ll add alot. Primarily because I’ll have a multicolor theme in my cube as long as we stay on ravnica, as I have done the other two times we visited. That means 6 cards per guild, 5 lands and a mana stone. From my usual setup that means two more cards per guild, so I have plenty of room to try out various stuff and decide what to keep in 6-9 months time.
Watchlist Legion Warboss - Looks solid, but doesn't quite get there for me. Will watch. Nullhide Ferox - Non-creature spell drawback is too much. Tajic, Legion's Edge - Good card, but not convinced it is better than Aurelia and I'm not sure I want to cut Charm and Helix from Boros.
I've got 8 adds for my 540 powered with land module, and some cascading effects like jumping into green aggro! Here are my includes and cuts!
Nothing
Nothing
Sheoldred, Whispering One -> Doom Whisperer
This will be a quiet change. Sheoldred was showing its age, and was bringing significantly less doom than I expect this to.
Keldon Marauders -> Goblin Cratermaker
EDIT: I had Dismissive Pyromancer as the cut here, but decided to keep him around for more testing. Cutting Marauders for now, although I'll be keeping an eye on red 2s.
Manic Vandal -> Legion Warboss
I having four is as high as I go for the army in a cans at 540, and warboss is the worst, but there's not much power-wise that can compete.
Oath of Nissa -> Pelt Collector
Along with an entire suite of Green aggro (for the first time in my cube!!). I've been on the sidelines of Green aggro my entire cube curation, waiting for a tipping point in playable cards, and i think this is it.
Nahiri, the Harbinger -> Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice
Nahiri wasn't embarassing, but I have a feeling this will be a much higher pick in Boros than the PW. I'm excited to get more aggressive creatures into Boros!
Dragonlord Dromoka -> Knight of Autumn
That will make Militant, Pridemage, Finks, Knight, and Wake my Selesnya section, and that just feels so right.
Maelstrom Pulse -> Assassin's Trophy
EDIT: I had Vraska, Relic Seeker as the cut and expected to be priced out of Trophy for awhile, but I picked up one at my prerelease and couldn't pull the trigger on full blown "answers.guild". Trophy, Decay, and Deed are enough.
- I had Trostani / Knight of Autumn in a pool UWg pool. I almost went Bant, but ended up straight up Azorius mainly because Trostani conflicted with my Vedalken Shackles / Sower of Temptation / Treachery. Something to keep in mind with Trostani in blue shells.
- Vraska had a strong showing in a 3-0 Jund Recurring Nightmare deck I had yesterday where I forced her P1P4. The first time I cast Vraska I nuked a Dack Fayden, then my Vraska / mana dork got shot down by Arc Lightning. Was eventually able to Witness back my Vraska and just outgrinded my opponent with Vraska + Phyrexian Arnea. The other two times I cast Vraska basically sealed my opponent's fate because Vraska just buried them in card advantage. Only one showing, so far, but I see a lot of possibilities with Bitterblossom / Ophiomancer / Bloodghast / any other token generator / etc. Being able to re-use Abrupt Decay so I can hold onto my other removal spells for larger targets is big game. While I don't think Vraska is a 360 staple (I think she's #4 Golgari at best), but don't underestimate her usefulness. Abrupt Decay + Phyrexian Arena / sac outlet / incramental life gain is no joke. Will test extensively in midrange / stax / control shells.

Doom Whisperer ---> Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath. Ob Nix was a benchwarmer for an all-star black 5 drop. I think Doom Whisperer will not disappoint.
Goblin Cratermaker ---> Manic Vandal or Dismissive Pyromancer, probably Vandal. Maindeckable robot hate is a glorious thing. I cannot wait to kill an Ugin with this guy.

GREAT set! I hope Ravnica Alliances gives us just as many multicolored goodies!
Tombstalker -> Doom Whisperer
Thought about cutting Abyssal Persecutor here, but I'm dropping Tombstalker instead. Might reverse that decision at a later date.
Plated Geopede -> Goblin Cratermaker
Chandra's Phoenix -> Legion Warboss
Can't remember the last time I saw Phoenix make a maindeck. Warboss will do better.
Vengevine -> Pelt Collector
Rather than sub out E1 or Prowler, this seems like a decent time to bring down my green CMC. Also I'm bitter I didn't buy the promo Vengevine when it was cheap, and now it is not cheap.
Shadowmage Infiltrator -> Lazav, the Multifarious
I seem to be the only one here high on Lazav. I'm gonna run him over Infiltrator for a while, see if he sticks. He does a lot of things that Dimir wants in the early game, and even if he's not getting ETB effects when copying something, he's also not stopping you from reanimating that same target with a different card later.
Knight of the Reliquary -> Knight of Autumn
I've never been a huge Reliquary fan for cube, and Knight of Autumn provides a ton of flexibility. Seems like a long-term addition for sure.
Vraska, Relic Seeker -> Assassin's Trophy
I'm not loving the idea of dropping Vraska here, but it's the clear weak link in my Golgari section, and Assassin's Trophy is a must-include.
Boros Reckoner -> Tajic, Legion's Edge
I think Tajic will be a solid performer, though perhaps not a superstar, given how many other threats start out at three power now. Some games, he's just going to be a bad Ahn-Crop Crasher. Still, I'll give him a spin over the Reckoner and its awkward casting cost.
Assemble the Legion -> Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice
Yes, Aurelia is weaker than some of the other four-drops available in white and red, but it's got the right stats to see cube play, and gives another option for Boros to play as a midrange value pile rather than an all-in aggro guild only. If there's a shaky addition here, she might be it (which sounds crazy when looking at her stats). Still, Assemble the Legion has always been the odd Boros card that almost no Boros deck actually wants; it would only see play when splashed into a slower color combination.

Doom Whisperer - I’d always had Priest of the Blood rite as a filler for the 5 drop. This seems good enough.
Knight of Autumn - Slam dunk, this is the card I am most excited about. Replacing Knight of the Reliquary which was clunky slow.
Assassin’s Trophy - Powerful and flexible, but kinda boring. Not sure what to take out though.
Artifact cube:
Chamber Sentry - Sunburst, Artifact and +1/+1 counter interaction, removal, recursion, flex curve. Very happy to add this! I am replacing a 3 drop, don’t know yet though.
Black: testing Doom Whisperer. Not sure if it'll be great because my cube is very aggressive but it is a black 5.
Red: Legion Warboss, Goblin Cratermaker
Green: Pelt Collector
Golgari: Assassin's Trophy
Boros: Tajic and Aurelia
Selesnya: Knight of Autumn
Dimir: I might test Lazav, Silumgar and Shadowmage Infiltrator have not been doing very well recently.
Check out my competitive Ezuri, Claw of Progress primer!

Collector too.
This is almost exactly my take. Tajic is more of a test for me and I’m giving Legion Warboss a go as well.
White: Nothing.
Black: Night Incarnate -> Doom Whisperer. I'm really excited for this card.
Red: Harsh Mentor -> Goblin Cratermaker, Fire Imp/Manic Vandal -> Legion Warboss. Not sure what the cut is for Warboss yet, as I don't want too high a density of artifact destruction.
Green: With green losing a bunch of cards to my color rebalance, I think I get to just add Pelt Collector in exchange for a blue card.
Multicolor:
Hostage Taker -> Connive//Concoct. I really want to test this split card.
Qasali Pridemage -> Knight of Autumn. One of the easiest includes in the set (I'm higher on Doom Whisperer, personally).
Abrupt Decay -> Assassin's Trophy. Removal swap. I don't like Golgari being "the answers guild", so I don't let more than 2 of the 4 slots be removal.
Boros Charm -> Tajic, Legion's Edge. This was going to be Aurelia, but I want to test Tajic now that I've seen him.
Draft my cube! (630 cards)
Doom Whisperer

Nullhide Ferox
