Yeah, I'll finally get rid of Lightning Mauler for this. Great set for cube, for sure. I agree with the windmill auto slam include dunk smash some slam face utility dude. This thing is great.
I think this card is the new best red 2 drop (yes, I’m putting it above Pyromancer and Kari Zev).
Got to play it today and it was absolutely nuts. Gets in beats early, pairs with bolts to take out larger threats late, and pressured your opponents mana (and Ugins).

I added it in and got to see it play a few rounds over the course of two separate drafts, and although it was a better than I expected, I still wouldn't consider it a 360 staple (probably a 450-540 staple). And it isn't even remotely close to the best red 2 drop imo, I could name a handful of 2 drops I'd pick over it in my red aggro or midrange decks. It's a solid all-around card, and can occasionally do something especially silly, but in like 50% of games it's literally just a bear that gets brick-walled by an opponent's 2 or 3 drop after a single attack.

I understand picking more aggressive creatures over cratermaker when that's what you want but what red two-drop would you rather have if you're playing midrange? I can see this being brick walled from attacking but I can't ever picture cratermaker not having an impact on a game that it's in play. There's just too many artifacts and creatures with <3 toughness running around.
For midrange, I’d pick Arc trail, Young Pyromancer, Smuggler’s Copter, amen Dire Fleet Daredevil over it. I’d compare it to Collective Brutality in modern: it’s a good mainboard card because of its versitility, but it’s usually not especially powerful in most matchups, and for that reason I don’t think I’d pick it especially early if offered more on-theme cards for my deck.
I think that if you draft any red aggressive deck and this doesn't make the cut, you're doing something wrong. Yes, it only has two power, but it has incredible versatility. I agree that Copter is better, but well, it's not a red two drop

It looks like it has a lot of versatility on paper, but in reality it lacks it. The shock ability is hardly ever useful in aggro and midrange, and the artifacts destruction comes up in at most a quarter of matches.
The discussion was regarding 2 drops in red midrange decks, not red two drops. Similarly, I’d pick Porcelain Legionare far over this card in red aggro.
Card has been spectacular in testing. Great in both aggro and midrange. I think it's easily the 2nd or 3rd best red 2cc creature for the cube. Far more versatility in practice than on paper even, and it's just great in so many situations and in so many decks. A+ card, and a windmill-slam inclusion of every cube of every size.
I think its strength definitely hinges on how strong the artifacts are in your cube. I don't run swords or fast mana and so this guy is more middling to my 450 unpowered list, but probably still makes it anyway. Just haven't picked one up yet.
