Bear with all upside and relevant creature types. His activated ability is a pseudo Abrade that can randomly kill Karn / Ugin / Emrakul. I’m definitely interested in this, so much utility.
Maindeckable artifact hate stapled to a creature that oozes with flexibility. Seems like it could be a solid include.
I'd bet money that they jammed this creature into the set at the last minute once they realized how much of an impact Karn was going to have on standard.
Slow, but very versatile. I like that it is a two drop that even non-aggro red decks will play. I also like that it is an answer to cards red decks usually have no answers to, such as Emrakuls and Ugin.
My past experience tells that keeping a mana up with it is going to be difficult for aggressive decks and the 2/2 body is anemic, so I am not completely sold on it being great. At 720 it makes the cut though.
This should be an easy include at 720. It offers a ton of flexibility and should see play in a wider variety of decks than something like War-Name Aspirant.
I feel like I may have to cut Dismissive Pyromancer for this. The Pyromancer has been pretty good in testing for me thus far but is more mana intensive and can't touch artifacts. This seems the better of the two.
Doesn't blow me away, but I find the card kind of charming. Yeah, why the hell not take him for a spin. Goblins have their synergies, you can torch fiend stuff, you can blow up Karn, you can shoot some random flyer. I feel like that's way cooler than any random vanilla 3/2s I still have floating around.
Seems cool. Not sure If I have a spot for this though. My gut wants to try this in place of Manic Vandal. At the same time, having two of these affects would probably be useful, but cut's are so difficult these days.

Both get grabbed by both recruiters, so I think it depends on the colored artifacts you're playing.
Vandal already can't hit sphinx of the steel wind or inkwell leviathan, so the cards you hit with vandal but miss with the goblin are
Spear of Heliod
Shardless Agent
Baleful Strix
Which isn't a huge trade off when you get to hit Karn, Ugin, new Emrakul as well as reality smasher/thought-knot.
I like that it feels like a Wickerbough Elder version of manic vandal, except instead of enchantments it can shock creatures. Losing the body does stink a bit tho, but being able to play it slightly earlier and have threat of activation is a nice.
I also like that it's still a warrior (like manic vandal) for Najeela, and coming down a turn earlier wont interupt my curve
This card is ABSURDLY good IMO. We still run Torch Fiend. This has 1 more toughness, and its ability hits WAY more things, including super problematic planeswalkers and eldrazi. AND it's a goblin so it even adds slight synergy to Rabblemaster.
This is an awesome flexible card in red, handles artifacts, eldrazi, Karns, Ugin, and can kill creatures? This is a lot for a two drop and I would be very surprised if this does not get included. Additionally it has a relevant creature type.
Yea, this card seems fantastic. Makes a lot of older red creatures look pretty poor in comparison. Glad to have something flexible like this available to draft.

I'm going to test this for sure.
This can still hit Strix / Agent with the damage mode.
I dislike that it can't destroy artifact lands against affinity, although that archetype is not common.
I also dislike that it lacks the reach part of Ember Hauler, sometimes you just want to Shock your opponents face.
I will not play it, but I also underestimated Abrade, so don't listen to me
It is a extremely versatile, playable toolbox creature with great interactions with tutors/revilark... It's power level is such that no red deck is ecstatic to play it, but no red should be upset to play it either.
It's interactions leads to interesting gameplay and deckbuilding decisions.. It's rarely excellent, but it's also (basically) never dead.
Later in the game, it might be the only out vs a Karn/Ugin/Emkraul.. which is awsome for any sort of tool box strategy.
Would I run it in an ideal 24/25 Mono red agressive deck? definitely not..
If you tunnel vision on it's use in agro, it's not that good, but it's still a 21-22nd quality playable and not embarrassing. The floor of a 2/2 torch fiend in a artifact heavy cube is a pretty great floor..
The archetype versatility of this card is a very welcome addition to red, which has a lot of cards that are either unplayable in agro, or unplayable outside of agro.. (compared to say Black and White).
It's also a Goblin AND a Warrior! Two relevant tribes for red at the moment.
I'd call it auto-include eternal staple at 180 if it was 2 damage to any target. As is, it's definitely worth testing in any cube that runs many colorless cards (which is the vast majority of cubes). Not bad. Will be testing at 360 over Harsh Mentor.
This guy is able to deal with such a wide variety of cards all on a grizzly bear body and cc. I also love the goblin-warrior creature type for extra shenanigans. I'll definitely find space for him.
3 cmc shatter is not something I'm excited about, nor is a 3 cmc shock that can't go face. Baseline 2/2 is nice, so I'll certainly test this out, but you'd need to be very desperate to actually activate the cards abilities.
Reminds me a bit of Qasali Pridemage, which I like a lot. Its capable of answering a bunch of cards as is, and is great for Alesha/Lark or any recurrable decks. My playgroup hates drafting Manic Vandal but loves Abrade. So most of us are looking forward trying it in our 360.
